Joe said it would take a month to get these items, and I agreed. When a month passed with no update, I called his office and was told it would take another two weeks. After waiting again, I called to schedule delivery and found out neither piece had arrived nor was on its way from China. I heard many excuses, but I still gave Joe another three weeks. Today, when I called, I was told there was another issue, and it would be two or three more weeks. Feeling deceived, I asked for my money back. I was told Galbraith could only refund $185, not the $595 for the pagoda, because it was a special order, even though both items were "so-called" special orders, meaning they are not in the regular inventory. I ordered both from a catalog Joe gave me, but they would only refund the smaller amount. A staff member told me I would have to wait even longer for the pagoda, but could not say when it would arrive. I was treated as if I should shut up, go home, and wait. No one apologized. Instead, a woman came out of an office to shame me and blamed their importer. She acted as if I should just accept the situation. When I ordered the two statues, no one told me I could not get my money back or cancel the order. I never signed anything saying that. I want my money back. I am 80 years old and know Galbraiths has not been honest with me. I feel they think I am not sharp because of my age, but they are wrong. One staff member tried to intimidate me, but I made it clear I am neither senile nor stupid, even though she spoke to me in a condescending tone. I wanted to tell her she was being rude, but decided not to; she was too uneducated to know better. Whoever parented her did not teach her respect for older folk. I plan to contact the Better Business Bureau and share my experience on social media to let others know how Galbraiths treats its customers, especially seniors. I will also file a small claim against them. I do not care about their problems with suppliers in China or shipping; that is not my responsibility, but they tried to make it mine. They refused to refund my money. I wonder if this nursery is having financial trouble since they will not refund me for a product I no longer want and have waited almost three months for. They have pagodas on display, but they are too small for my project. I am sure when my pagoda finally arrives, Mr. Joe can sell it in his nursery; he is a clever salesman. They have a lot of options and decor to choose from, and I would say they are more current than a lot of other florists in the area. I'm sure it is in part to do with the wedding industry and flowers in general, but DAMN wedding flowers are EX$PEN$Y! The first quote for my "fantasy" wedding flowers (which the husband did not think what I'd described/asked for was over the top) was $12K. My face turned green and I nearly passed out. $12,000.00??! In Fort Wayne, Indiana??! In any case, they were accommodating in working with me to cut the quote, as well as provide what I wanted without affecting the end product / results too much...It came down to about 1/3 of that initial quote and for the most part, it was beautiful. The bridesmaids bouquets were pretty much exactly what I had asked for. The bridal bouquet ($250) however fell short, by not looking the way I had emphasized with photos provided as examples, and the centerpieces, though nice, were not as full as I had requested with many reminders of the same.
