I have been going to Ulery for about 15 years. I need a lot of dental work done. Ie new partials, fillings ect. Scheduled me in June of 2025 at the office in crofton (Glen Burnie was closed for remodeling) went to crofton they got what they told me was an eval/tx plan. Schedule to come back to Glen Burnie for followup they wouldn't see me, tried to schedule me for a whole other eval/ (that my insurance wouldn't cover) so i set up to get some work done anyway they keep telling me they need to do a bunch unnecessary work at 800-4k. Gave me a bunch a hassle about my tx plan. Turns out my dental insurance had no maximum and they were just trying to bill myself and insurance for all they can. The office is unprofessional, and they overall have went downhill immensely for whats best for the patient and more about billing your insurance and getting money. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. Dirty and unwelcoming. HORRIBLE customer service. After scheduling an appointment 4 months in advance and taking off of work for my appointment, Ulery dental failed to send any sort of appointment time reminders or updates. Somehow our wires were crossed and at the initial time of making the appointment, I wrote 10:30am on my calendar. When they called back to verify my insurance the girl at the front desk said she "wasn't sure" if they would take my insurance. I personally followed up with them myself to ensure they did in fact take my insurance. Then, the day of the appointment I showed up at 10:09am thinking I was 20 minutes early for my appointment. The woman at the front desk informed me that my appointment was actually at 10am (so I was 9 minutes late) and I could no longer be seen because they were fully booked for the day and I was too late. I was obviously upset as I had taken off of work and thought I was early and asked if there was no way to be seen. They informed me that the next available appointment was in December or Today. I was not able to take off of work for a second day in a row, so I couldn't make this appointment. I asked the woman at the front desk why i was not sent a reminder in any form and she said they typically text them but didn't have my phone number. Just received a call from this dentist office cancelling my appointment stating, "the owner told them just today that they will no longer be accepting new patients with my employer." I have had this appointment for over 2 months and they are calling me a week before to cancel and expecting me to find a new dentist within that time. HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND INCONSIDERATE. If you're a new patient, I'd be finding somewhere else no matter which insurance you have because they clearly don't care about their patients time and energy. If you're a current patient and thinking of switching, I'd also be finding a new dentist because if they will pull a stunt like this, they more than likely would cancel your appointment and insurance in an instant and expect you to find someone new or pay out of pocket. This is the worst dental practice I've ever been too. I had to switch to Ulery when I retired because of new insurance. My first impression when i walked into the receptionist/waiting area was that it looked like a cold, impersonal clinic where people are herded in, treated and then charged. The receptionist barely acknowledged my presence when I approached her. The dental staff in the examining room didn't acknowledge me as a first time patient and did not introduce themselves. No small talk, nothing just move me in, check/clean my teeth and herd me out. The worst experience came when I needed a root canal. Like other people who have reviewed Ulery, I was moved from room to room during the procedure and was in there for almost four hours! The dentist seemed to care very little about my discomfort or pain during the procedure. A year later the post holding the crown in place broke and the crown came out. Had to have it redone and a new crown put in. The dentist burned my lip with one of her tools (Ouch) and didn't even numb my mouth before cauterizing an area of my gum where the crown was replaced. Two months later the crown came off and it had to be put back in. The dentist was very rough and burned my lip with one of her tools which hurt like heck. so then almost three months later the crown has fallen out again and I am DONE! The dentist didn't do a very thorough exam. No instruments used. Didn't say much stayed less than 5 minutes. In and out. I didn't feel welcome here at all. Ulery was great! My daughter had a root canal and later that evening Dr. Steinberg called to check on her. We to the pharmacy to get her prescription filled, we were informed that my daughter's insurance had lapsed and was unable to fill the order. I was looking for a sizable dentist office near my workplace and stumbled upon Ulery Dental & Orthodontics. I like the fact that there are several days during the week that this office closes a little later. That gives me time to come in after work. Waits aren't extremely long, per say. You get assigned a room early, but that room might act as your waiting room. I went for a regular checkup/cleaning, and my experience was less than satisfactory. Though the dental assistant who did my cleaning was nice and friendly, I've never had a more painful cleaning. It seemed she always picked at my gums by accident. My gums bled a lot, and though that happens from time to time, it should bleed that much. In addition, after the cleaning, I had to wait quite a bit for the dentist to come check on the assistant's work. read more

AVOID!!!!! I've recently had my third root canal and crown retreated by another dentist that were all originally done by Ulery. After reviewing my Ulery root canal my new dentist confirmed there was large amounts of corrosion and bacteria by the stem and that Ulery had failed to remove the entire root which is why I got an infection and experienced pain. Again, this isn't an isolate incident, this is the THIRD one I've had redone. Dr. Reza is an excellent orthodontist. He is in the Pasadena office on Thursdays. I am 30 years old and he told me I needed old fashioned braces if I wanted my teeth straight. He was honest and upfront about all procedures and costs. When my insurance denied my request for braces Dr. Reza cut some costs and set me up with an interest free payment plan. After 2 years of having metal braces in my mouth my teeth are perfect. I'm not embarrassed about my smile anymore. I recommend Dr. Reza to anyone who wants a perfect smile! I've been going here ever since I was a child. They have fixed my broken tooth twice. But, they made one front tooth smaller than the other.

They keep delaying the appointment and changing the appointment date without giving any notice calls. Horrible service!!!

The front staff was really nice, I'll give them that much, and they were patient with me. When this place says "we cater to cowards", they mean it - they do. I was treated very gently. But that's where the good ends with this place. The dental staff was.... we'll just say impersonal and leave it at that. I wasn't reassured that any of them knew what they were doing. In the end, I had teeth that needed to be extracted, and they arranged for me to come in, take off of work, and have the procedure done - only to get me under, then wake me up and say, "Sorry, we couldn't do the work. You woke up during the procedure." Which is funny, because I remember doing no such thing. They ended up sending me elsewhere, with a referral in hand, and a surly "Good luck." Nothing else. I had to find the alternate surgeon myself - if I had known I would have had to do that, I wouldn't have bothered going to them in the first place. I ended up going to Maryland Oral Surgery Associates in Gambrills, who treated me very professionally and with no problem. Not only that, but Ulery tried to charge me 1243 dollars for the same surgery that only cost me 781 at MOSA. The two stars are strictly for the front office staff - as I stated, they were very sweet and very pleasant to me. I used their website contact function, twice!, to tell them I was in pain, had a dental emergency, and would like to see a dentist and tried to schedule an appointment. -crickets- Twice! I called on the third day, left a message. That was a waste of time. I made it very clear that I was experiencing severe pain. Did they care? Evidently not, since no one contacted me. I am a very fearful dental patient in my early 60's. My regular dentist retired and I was at my wits end trying to find a replacement. The guy who took over my old dentist's practice in Perry Hall could not stay off his Face Book account long enough to have a normal conversation with me about my concerns - mainly my teeth! He had a wonderful assistant who actually did better work than he did which kept me going back. Now after developing an infection under a new crown I have decided that I am done with this guy I also did not like the endodontists he referred me to in White Marsh. Awful! Onto Ulery! I saw Dr. Steinberg there who was kind, very gentle and very patient. He gave one of the best numbing injections I have ever had. Unfortunately I have to have the tooth out after all - there is nothing that can be done to save it. Went in for severe tooth pain. Told the tooth needs extracted, but they have to refer out to an oral surgeon. Oral surgeon can't get me in for THREE WEEKS and that's only for the "consult" and the tooth still won't be pulled by then. Unfortunately I'm on a DHMO, so I can't go to another general dentist to get my tooth pulled. Not even a prescription for pain medicine, and I just have to sit and wait in pain for WEEKS. After examining my daughter she would need further treatment on removing 2 teeth one being an adult tooth, although I was very hesitant about this Dr. Reza explained in great detail the over all picture for my daughters teeth. This practice will provide good customer service in order to look you in as a patient, but once they have you, forget about it. Case in point, I have spent over $2000.00 to have upper & lower partial dentures. From what I have learned, dentures require a lot of adjustment by the dentist in the first 6 months or so. Well, where at the beginning this office was very accommodating in making appointments & working me in when the pain had gotten really bad (prior to the denture work), now that they have my money, it takes no less than 1 week to get an appointment for an adjustment that will take no more than 5 minutes and during which I have never even seen the dentist! I am told by the office manager, Stephanie, that once you have been seen by a dentist, you may not be seen by another dentist regardless of the difficulties you are experiencing. I have been put in a situation where I have to go without my teeth, unable to eat for a week or more! You see, at least under my dental insurance plan, they cannot charge for adjustments for the first 6 months, which clearly has translated into "if we can no longer make anymore money off of you, we are going to make it as difficult as possible for you to get into the office & receive some relief. Believe me when I say, I am not a person who runs to the dentist for every little thing (if that were the case, I would not have required dentures!), however, when the dentures have been adjusted to the point where they cut into my gums causing them to bleed, when they have been tightened so much that it takes me about 10 minutes just to remove 1 plate (not just me either, because when I was able to get into the office, it took 3 people, including the dentist, more than 20 minutes to get 1 plate out of my mouth!). The office manager has actually told me that "no dentist will work on a patient when another dentist has started the work!" Really?!?! Unless I want to go to another dentist & pay the new dentist for her/his work, I am stuck with these gougers for the next 4 1/2 months! Please, please, please, do not make the same mistake I made! I do not like the dentist, was nervous and my first impression was a girl at the front desk who was def not interested in being at work. She was not friendly and the rest of the staff was just hanging out talking behind the front desk. I go in quickly because no one is there, they take an X ray, again not friendly at all, dentist comes in not friendly at all, spends about 10 seconds looking at my broken tooth and says it needs to be extracted but he wont do it. So what is the point of having emergency appointments if you do not do emergency procedures. After spending 10 seconds with me, he leaves and did not give me any pain medication or anything. Tries to refer me to some oral surgeon who is not in the Ulery group, where I am a patient already, so I get frustrated and upset because I said why are you sending me to someone where I have to start all over as a new patient. Have been to this place many times and have no complaint about the health care, but don't ever expect to see the same health care professional twice. This place is a revolving door for Dentists and Hygienists. The worst part is their administrative staff is really very poor. They require 4-months advance scheduling for an appointment, don't remind you when your 6-month exam is due, nor a courtesy call to remind you of a pending appointment. They also cancel appointments making you start all over in the 4-month scheduling queue. The final straw for my family was making an appointment for a non-school day, showing up and smugly being told my appointment was for the previous month. This dental practice was one of the worst mistakes I've every mad in my life. I chose ulnery dental because they were in network with my insurance provider, I wish I would have done a little research before settling with them. I had a lot of dental issues and I was looking to correct those issues. I am 34 years old and I had feared the dentist as long as I can remember. My pregnancy did not help, because the decay that was going on with my teeth seemed to get worst after my pregnancy. I had to have all of my upper teeth removed. This was so hard for me being a young woman and having to have all of my upper teeth pulled, depressing to say the least. The way this office made me feel I will never forget. First, when they did my impression for my upper teeth it toke them 3 times just to get the impression. As I stated, my teeth were severely decayed, and the coldness of the mixture was extremely painful. As I squirmed in the chair the dental assistant was not phased by this, she continued to shove this mixture in my mouth for a second and third time while chatting with another dental assistant. The doctor that I saw put me on antibiotics and Motrin until the day of surgery. I was in so much pain that I was taking Motrin daily just to ease some of the pain. Once I ran out of Motrin I had to call the office for a refill. I had to reschedule my surgery on one occasion because my husband could not get the day off, and I had to wait an additional 2 weeks for surgery. I called the office for a refill for Motrin and the young lady that answered the phone told me that that would be the last time that she was going to ask the doctor to give me a refill and I needed to go to the store and purchase Motrin. I explained to her that I pay over $100 for insurance per pay period and I wanted to utilized my insurance, and besides, I would have had to take 4 Motrin pills just to equal up to the prescription strength that the doctor prescribed to me. She continued to be rude, she acted like i was asking her to refill a controlled substance or something, and to be honest, I can't help but to fill that they prejudged me because of the condition of my teeth. I opted to have my surgery done else where due to many other incidents that I had with this practice. On the day of surgery the surgeon tried to put the denture in my mouth and it did not fit, the denture was way off. It didn't even fit in my mouth. Now this could have been the fault of the lab, so I won't blame that entirely on the practice. The dentures itself was of poor quality. I have taken my daughter to Ulery dental in Dundalk and Pasadena. Both were bad experiences. As one who has several family members who are dentists and orthodontists, and myself being a dental assistant (before children) I know what to expect. The dentists are not through in their examination. They are either quick with their work, or too nervous (just out of dental school) to make sure all aspects are covered. At one check up visit they didn't even have a dental hygienist come in and scrape her teeth from plaque. (?) It felt like the 'Wal-Mart' of dental offices. Then after the visits I always get a letter from my insurance saying 'services are not covered.' I call them up, they explain a simple, clerical error on Ulery dentals part where they didn't properly file the paperwork. So then I have to call Ulery and get it fixed and properly submitted. This happens every time we go in! Seeing that they don't have their act together behind the counter or in the rooms, we are just switching dentists for her because it's not worth my time or the insurance money each month to make sure paperwork is properly submitted, and I have to scrap her teeth when we get home. After over 5 years of extremely poor service I have had it! The whole place is set up to maximize money for them with no regard for patients. They want everyone to have 3 cleanings a year -- so the front office will not even give me a 6 month appointment which is quite normal for dental offices. This forces me to miss my 6 month dental cleaning now and then. When that happens they will not schedule you for a simple cleaning. They want you to get another set of X-rays which they call - check-up. During my entire time as a patient with this place, they would badger me to get new x-rays even though every time I asked if this was my choice, they would respond, "Yes. But remember the insurance will pay for it." Even though I explained that x-ray is okay if I am being treated for a problem - I just do not see the need to expose myself to unnecessary radiation every year. This time they refused to do the cleaning if I do not agree to a new x-ray. So I told them I will stop coming and seek another dentist. When I asked for a copy of my health records there was more stalling. They wanted me to fill out a release form. I told them I do not need a release form to get a copy - you just need to see my ID. They refused and said I need a release form. The release form they provided is for release of records to another dentist. I filled it out. Have no idea if they will continue to stall or will provide me my records. Glad I finally made the decision to stop doing business with this place which only cares about their own money and have no regard for patients or their rights. read more
