Update to my previous review. It's been a whole week since my A/C heating is out. Nobody has ever contacted me nor repair the issue. I've called office many times, left voicemail, reported physically to the office, and filed emergency maintenance report online. Did not hear anything. It was snowing in Lubbock and outside temperatures is 30s. My unit is even colder than outside. I just emailed the office as I was told by the management comment. I'll update later. read more

The office staff is extremely kind and easy to get along with they've answered every question we've had and helped with small problems here and there immediately. Everyone in the building seems to get along well with each other which is really great. The amenities the building has are really great too, everything is always really clean which I do appreciate. The building is also beautiful and has a great view of you get an apartment on the front of the building! Hosting friends is very easy cause this is the middle of town and it's easy to gather everyone in after a football game and go grab food at the restaurants next door or down below the building! read more

Fantastic place to live if you're interested in cockroach infestation, womanizing maintenance workers, lengthy HVAC projects that invade on your personal space during valuable class and work hours, mysteriously broken elevators, appliances, locks, and having to walk through trash heaps to get inside the building. Do yourself a favor and live literally anywhere else. read more

I was surprised by the rating, couldn't imagine it being over one star, and now to add insult to injury, they just out of the blue sent an email to my daughter that just signed a new lease, saying bring your cable box back to the office or you will be charged $50. This was their way of saying they weren't providing free cable to residents any longer. Just sort of like it or lump it. They know these are kids and they are just taking advantage of them. The communication is terrible. No one answers calls in the front office or returns left messages. No one returns messages from the Uloft apartment site. My child was without air-condition for at least 3 weeks August/September 2022. Not one person who worked for Ulofts could or would give her any information about when the air-condition would be fixed. A couple weeks before Christmas she notified maintenance about a roach infestation she was having, it took them weeks to come and spray her apartment. Now they are fixing some of the air-conditioning units, which they made her aware of, but refuse to give her a courtesy call before they will be working in her apartment. The maintenance pretty much forced their way into her apartment today12/06/23. As her mother I am trying everything I can to get her out of these apartments. 2020 UPDATE!!! After reading all other reviews, it seems that none of these problems have been addressed EVER!!! Smelly hallways, bugs everywhere, mold, filth, faulty fire alarms, and best of all NO A/C!!! We have not had a working air conditioner now for 10 days and we have placed 3 work orders. The temperature outside has been ranging from 100 to 105 degrees. The outdoors feels like Alaska in the dead of winter compared to our apartment! I feel incredibly unsafe leaving for work in the mornings, I frequently run into people sleeping near my car in the parking garage and I have come face to face with dumpster divers on more than one occasion. The office staff are INCREDIBLY RUDE. They treat every resident as an inconvenience. Please do yourself a favor, and do not live here!!! read more

DO NOT LIVE HERE. I would give zero stars if I could. I do not know where to begin with the troubles caused by ULofts, the staff and the apartment. First, at least once a week since I've lived here (5 months) the fire alarm has gone off for hours at a time. There is never any remedy, and it goes off regardless of the time, once going off at 4am on a Tuesday. As a college student, you can imagine what they did. Second, due to not taking care of their sprinkler system, one night when the fire alarm system was going off, my apartment began to be flooded with standing water all over the place. The apartment was unlivable, carpet ruined, tile ruined, baseboards ruined, ceiling tiles ruined, etc. Their contractors told us that we couldn't be in the apartment for 3 days, and when I told the staff that I wanted 3 days taken off my rent, they said "there was no reason why we couldn't be in our apartment" and they refused to reimburse us. Because of that, we had to stay in the apartment, which resulted in both me and my girlfriend coming down sick and having to take Doctor's trips (which take money) due to mold in the apartment. It took them OVER A MONTH AND A HALF to get in to fix all of the issues. When they did come, they did not tell us when they were coming, so when me and my girlfriend were at class, we would come home and literally our furniture was left all over the place in the living room and not moved back. Our bedroom desk and dresser was in the living room, clothes all over the floor, they even knocked over my PC. To top it off, their contractors literally stole $300 I had on my nightstand. I left it there thinking that in my locked apartment I would be fine for rent because they didn't tell me they were coming in. When I told the staff, they did not care at all. They did not respond to my emails, and when they did they apologized for "keys being left in the door", even though that was not even my apartment and I never mentioned it in my email, which shows me that they copied and pasted the response to me, which is awful. Finally, after finally talking to them, their remedy was to give me a $100 gift card and they literally created a form for me to sign that said I would not continue to fight them for the theft. The apartment, 3 months later, is still a mess with baseboards not completely fixed, mold on the ceilings, etc. Third, the staff is awful. As I have alluded to, they are not, at all, caring for residents. The apartment manager does not respond to any of my emails and is impossible to get in contact with. The assistant manager, Jon, is the one who sent the email after not even reading my email, and they have continually shows that they do not care. The maintenance people are fine, and the leasing agent Aly is also okay, but the rest of the staff is awful and SHOULD NOT BE IN THE LEASING BUSINESS. Fourth, everything in the apartment is broken and it was not clean at all when we got it. It was a mess, with the sink, toilet, and bathtub not being fixed, not lightbulbs replaced, the heater/AC had a leak, the hot water heater leaked in our first week, and the carpet and tile were stained. Fifth, the fees are ridiculous. I was two days late paying rent because of the money being stolen, and I told them that I would be, and each day was a $40 late fee. If I could go back in time to not live here, I would. It's been a mess and such an added stress to college having to deal with them. I filed a complaint with the BBB today over all of this. Buyer Beware! Already having problems with this place and we haven't even moved in. Do NOT sign a lease here! We were told we could have a North facing room if we requested it and now after signing the lease we are told we cannot. They are not nice and not helpful. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. When I moved in the whole apartment was filthy. Stained and frayed carpets. Mold in the shower. And it smelled of mildew. Before I moved in I was charged a $400 security deposit, which I never recieved back when I moved out. The apartment was actually in better condition than when I moved in. They also charged me a $200 cleaning fee. This apartment complex tries to scam college students by charging them absurd prices that they are never going to fight. Do not stay at Ulofts if you value your sleep. The fire alarm system is broken and goes off at random times, typically between 1AM to 5AM. It advertises itself as cat friendly but don't be surprised if someone's "emotional support" pitbull tries to tackle you in the halls. Speaking of the halls, the halls recently got new carpets. Why that money didn't go towards fixing their broken alarms? We may never know. Perhaps because the previous carpets were constantly soiled with poop and it was turning away new potential residents. Aside from being a nuisance, the faulty fire alarms make me wonder how safe it is to even live here. Will they work during an actual fire? Will the residents be so used to them being fake that they don't know to evacuate? Ulofts doesn't seem to care. read more

Update: We have now lived at Ulofts for close to 3 years. At first everything was fine. Since my last review things have gone downhill. Management does not tell you if you have a package sitting in the office until they give you a few days to pick it up before they send it back, there are now wild cats that are living near the pools that management refuses to do anything about, one day I sat and waited for the office to open and it was late opening by over 2 hours, the elevators are almost always broken and one was broken for 6 months before it was fixed, the parking in the garage is horrible due to the cramped size and inconsiderate drivers, and the internet goes down every few days. This is one of the cheaper places to live close to campus and right now those are the only good things I can say. I have lived here for a year and have known people who have lived here longer. I am giving this place a 4 because the management is quick to respond to any reported issues and if something is wrong they work quickly to fix it. There are many things that happen (trash in hallways, trash outside of doors, and dog poop like the last person to review) but all of those issues are due to the various residents who are too lazy and nasty to pick up their own filth and that is not the managements fault. The other thing that I really like about here is that they have pools that they maintain and that for college students they offer various food items during finals week such as breakfast tacos and free lunch. The location is a plus...however, this place is filthy. The trash is public areas is piled sky-high. Of special concern, the stairwells have become trash shutes. The no pet policy is a mockery, as evidenced by piles of animal feces in hallways. This place is ripe for a disease outbreak. read more

ULofts is a great place to live with it's close proximity to tech and stores all along university avenue! The staff is always willing to help me with any issue I have and are very patient and considerate of whatever issue you may have. I have had a great experience living here. Every apartment complex has its up and downs, and I feel that ULofts is the best place to be and the best bang for your buck. read more

DO NOT LIVE HERE. I reported a mold problem in the bedroom for my apartment. It took the management 2 days to even send a maintenance worker to try and take care of it. The worker literally wiped down the area and sprayed bleach or something, claiming that it would take care of it. Then a few days later, the maintenance staff came into my apartment and started to "fix" it and claimed it would only take 2 days to do. It took the staff A WEEK to get it done and the end product was them building another piece of drywall on top of the area. The front office staff is extremely unprofessional. The building manager never takes responsibility for any issues or concerns. She attacked my parents at move in when my mom was concerned about all of the issues in the apartment then. The manager does NOT let you voice your opinions and concerns about your safety and the apartment's state and issues. Trash is piled and overflows in the halls and by the doorways. An incident occurred when animal feces were in the hallways by other apartments. When problems are addressed to the main office, they are taken as a personal insult to the staff. The building manager has NO professional skills AT ALL. The people in charge of this complex should NOT be in their positions. When I moved in, the apartment was a complete DISASTER. The floorboards are disgusting and rotting. The carpet in the bedroom was black from all of the filth and grime. Multiple blinds were missing from the windows and the mold had spread to the tracks of the doors. Fire alarms continue to go off at all hours of the night with no solution from the management. Wish Yelp gave 0 stars as an option. The feral cat problem had to be taken care of by a 3rd party (with all cats finally being fixed, costing lots of money)because no one cared to effectively take care of it. It's not the resident's responsibility to assist, but people offered to help. The response to this help was staff members throwing out donations. Their office hours are a complete lie. Even with COVID-19 situation, blatantly lying is unacceptable with people trying to be understanding. Even with consistently reaching out the staff, they were incapable of returning messages. The trash problem is out of this world. Probably what attracted the feral cats. The poor cleaning lady has to work so hard to keep up with the property because the expectations set by the property are so low. The pool is disgusting. I was charged double for parking for a very long time. Honestly I hope the new management is ready for those "Fresh Renovations" they keep advertising. Do not live here!!!!!! I would not recommend it for many reasons. The people that work for the apartments will barge in at any given time (for some reason they prefer to at 8 AM, and they NEVER knock first) to check out the place and if you ask them to come back another time they refuse to. The fire alarm also goes off at the least weekly and continues to for hours at a time. The entire building is forced to evacuate and I think only once there was actually a fire-related accident. A majority of the time the alarm goes off in the middle of the night. You can only take a 5 minute shower if you want it to be hot, and several times they had to completely turn off the water for maintenance (understandable, but extremely inconvenient). It is very creepy getting home late at night, and consistently smells terrible throughout the halls. And lastly, not once did the A/C or heater work. It is miserable during the winter time. You could easily find somewhere to live around Texas Tech for the same price without any of these issues. Terrible, terrible place to live. read more

ULofts it's a wonderful and quiet place to live. I've been living here since fall 2017 and I never had a big complaint about my unity or the building in general. The manager and staff are very friendly and helpful, always trying to make my stay here more enjoyable. It's clean, cozy and comfy. It's cheaper than others around the campus and is the closest one to campus. I couldn't ask more. I love it. Even though looks old is so much better than most of the new ones in Glenna Goodacre. This apartment complex has the worst management I have ever seen. They are extremely rude and do not try to help you with anything. They charge you $75 to unlock your door if you are locked out even though they live in the building. They don't have any visitor parking and are in cahoots with a tow truck company to tow your car the second the sticker expires. I would stay far away from this place! read more

A/C breaks for weeks if not months at a time every fall and spring. I renewed my contract last december because they kept emailing me saying that the rates I was signing for were the lowest rates possible. I come to find out people rented for $100 cheaper on a special, and now they won't change my rental price. I have lived here 3 years and feel betrayed. The management has no interest in looking out for their tenants. There are no bathrooms or water fountains accessible to the pool area, gym, or theater room... I wonder where everyone goes to the restroom?? The whole building smells like mold and people let their dogs poop in the hallways next to the trash other people leave. I always had sympathy for the management for having to house college students and gave them the benefit of the doubt about all the issues until I found out the management completely ripped me off of $1200 by not notifying a loyal customer of a lower promotional price. This place was great at first. Don't butt heads with the manager especially if you need something fixed. My washer broke and was never repaired until well after I was gone when the neighbor let me know they were finally fixing it. They let unwelcome visitors in when I wasn't there and they entered the apartment without notice. It's ok for them to violate your tenant rights but don't try to get out of your lease because of it!!! There are plenty of other options available that won't violate your rights!!! read more

I lived here for over 2 years and it was a great expierence. The workers in the front office went above and beyond their duties to make sure that every tenant was taken care of. For the location, I thought the rent was very well priced and you get your monies worth. Now the room I was in was smaller than what I would have liked, but it more than made up for it with the updated applicances and countertops. You could tell that management took pride in their work. Decent price, given the prime location. The building is quite old, and it really shows. The parking garage is a major hazard. The apartments are so called "furnished." Don't be fooled by the nice model unit. On a positive note, there are no utility caps, decent gym, quiet neighbors, and friendly staff. Maintenance responds pretty quickly on most occasions. Obviously the location is extremely convenient for going to campus as well as nearby points of interest. Having looked around at other apartments nearby, Ulofts is a pretty good choice. read more

Our experience has been that the office staff turnover is high and it is hard to get answers and information from them. When you find someone who is helpful they aren't there the next time you have a question. However, everyone we have dealt with has been friendly and nice, they just don't have access to much information. Know that when you sign the lease you are agreeing to pay for 12 months, but will only be able to live there for 11 unless you are planning to stay another year or willing to sign an as is agreement which means they don't clean or repair the apartment when previous renters move out. Also be aware that move in is only allowed the weekend before school starts so if you are involved in any welcome week activities you will need to find another place to stay unless you are already living here. Location is great, but you need to be aware of the above issues as rent is on the high end when you realize that you are agreeing to pay for 12 months but only allowed to live there for 11. read more
