Called in a take out order. Told it'd be ready in 15 minutes which was accurate. This review is only for the food I ate. Mozzarella sticks 2/10. I found them to be crispy and somehow sweet which was weird. No cheese pull at all. They weren't even melted. Bacon cheddar burger 4/10. Toppings were fresh. Cheese melted. Bacon and burger were very well done. This definitely wasn't a greasy burger. It was dry and lacking seasoning. Fries 4/10, pretty similar to the fries at Five Guys. Probably would be better if there were holes in the container to vent the steam. Mayo was mine as these were plain. read more

Best place to get a burger for lunch or dinner or a snack in central Illinois! We placed a carry out order for 3 cheeseburgers for lunch on Thursday afternoon. 1 with pepper jack. 2 with cheddar. This Irish Pub was a very busy place. We ate their multiple times. You walk in and know that you are in an Irish Pub from all of the decorations. There was limited seating. The server remembered us. She told us to sit at the bar and as soon as a table comes available that she would get it for us. The mahe great burgers and fries. If you are in Peoria you have got to try them. Review Visit: March 17th, 2015 I will admit. I have been to Ulrich's many, many times. Drunk, sober and everything in-between. As you can imagine, Ulrich's is an irish-themed Pub that serves up a great selection of food and a varied selection of alcohol. You want, you can most likely order it here. My personal favorite is their grilled chicken sandwich. It's the juiciest grilled chicken I have ever had. The cool thing about Ulrich's is the grill is behind the bar, so you can literally watch the chef cook your food from 5 feet away... just be warned... if it's a busy day, the single chef/grill does get swamped and your order can take awhile. But it's worth the wait! My friends and I used to come here for Burger Monday. I miss those days. Anyways, on Mondays, they had an equally juicy burger for $3 or $3.50. Not sure if they still have that deal, but it's easily a $10 burger for dirt cheap. If you pop in on a Friday and Saturday night, you can expect it to be crammed full. That is about the only negative I have to say about the place. It's a very narrow/long bar, so you get a handful of people in there and it can be a pain to navigate. So if you want to eat, visit during the week night and if you want to drink only, visit any time! I probably sound a bit biased since I have been there so many times and have lots of great memories there... but it really is truly a great Peoria, IL staple. read more

Comfy, little Irish pub downtown that specializes in burgers, but also has sandwich and pizza options. Flattop grill and fryer sits behind the bar with two grill cooks at the ready. I sat at the bar this evening as the limited amount of tables they have were all occupied. I had the BBQ grilled chicken sandwich and it was fantastic, albeit a bit messy to eat. Yes, they remember your name! I go there every Monday night @1900 hours with my granddaughter. And they remember your order though, candidly, I make it easy for them as I always order God's gift to the Irish. If you have to ask, you are in the wrong establishment. So I used to haunt this place 1996-2000 when it was called ZZ Popps. What a great night, late-night & downtown spot! Food is very good! French fries are hand-cut but authentic & crispy! Tuna & other proteins are hearty, flavorful and well-prepared on a seasoned grill! And a nice selection of beers. Great dive bar vibe in heart of Peoria. Great atmosphere and food to kick. Had the 8oz ribeye sandwich with cheese fries. Decadent and amazing. Fantastic spot to hideout downtown Peoria in the tidy throwback food joint of dark woody walls covered in glowing branded neon, us 5 guys enjoyed the foods and drinks! One was smitten to see Smitticks on the draft menu! We got good attention from the staff, noticed prices had solid value compared to most other area restaurants, and put down all our food. The atmosphere lends itself to cozy eats, burgers, fish n chips, and my tuna sandwich all made with love and care, especially my tuna slab that was quite generous. This is one of those special places that easily deserves all the recognition and undersrandable difficulty finding parking spots. It took me way too long to check in here and can say that I'll be doing it again very soon. read more

We were staying nearby at the Marriott and needed a solid meal besides refrigerator stored sandwiches. My son ordered the horseshoe. I had the burger with jalapeños (I wish I could remember the name). Both were equally delicious. Oh the food was more than enough for us. We probably could've shared a burger. This is my teenage son. We also ordered mozzarella sticks. Those were great too! I was impressed with the breading on the mozzarella sticks. It was pretty good. I really thought I was going to be served typical bar food. While the menu seems like typical bar menu, the flavor and freshness is not lacking at all. I appreciated fresh cut fries that were perfectly crisp. The service was great as well. We had tried most places in the downtown area of Peoria for lunch and so opted to try Ulrich's Rebellion on a Thursday afternoon. They have typical bar food with burgers, some salads, fries and sandwiches. I wish we had come for dinner or happy hour for the drinks and appetizers/ bar food. I ordered the grilled tuna salad and split the cheese fries with someone else at the table. The tuna was overdone and dry as opposed to rare or medium-rare I ended using the balsamic vinegar to add a bit more flavor. The fries were decent, although not as crispy as I would have liked. I was disappointed with the cheese which was more like a liquid cheese product and bit cold. The others enjoyed their burgers and chicken nuggets. I would say this is a solid choice for those that like bar food. Service was fast and friendly as well. read more
