The flavor was a 10/10, but I asked for medium rare and definitely got rare rare. I substituted a gluten free bun for $2 extra and I don't think I'd recommend it. It's pretty crumbly. Upon arriving, we were told a table for 4 was ready, then were never seated. After standing there for 15 mins, we checked with the host and asked about the empty 6-top... she told us 4 people couldn't sit there... only 6!! We waited quite awhile after that to finally be seated, all while the 6-top sat empty!Then once seated, waited a very long time to have our order taken. Thank goodness the server was great, along with our food! We just felt like they should have seated the 4 of us at the 6-top right away and not made us wait and waste a table for over 30 mins. There was also another group of 4 at another 6-top, plus 2 people at a 4-top so we didn't see the reasoning behind not seating us and making us stand there for so long after they told us a table was ready! So we have not been here in a while and we might not come back for a while. We rode our bikes from our place to them and because we had to ride our bikes back we didn't want to eat too much or heavy. So I ordered the salmon. Sounded good and the sides sounded great. Well the photo tells it all. The salmon was not even an appetizer size and the finger link potato's were undercooked. They dumped the brine from the jar of artichokes so everything tasted like they've been pickled and had this weird lighter fluid taste. My husband got the chorizo nachos and it was ground beef and hardly any of it. I would give it zero or 1 star but I'm not because I know they can make a good burger (if I remember correctly) and if we went with burger and fries we may have had a better experience. Just DON'T try anything fancy or healthy here because you will be disappointed. Go if you want burger and fries or wings. read more

Cool bar and restaurant in Peoria. On a cold night (20 degrees) we came here for dinnner. Parking is a pain and even though they have a double door, cold air was still getting in the place. Decor is pretty neat especially at the bar and service was decent.. The shrimp was great but the beef was a rather dry. Walked in the door tonight as a party of one. The hostess told me I could sit anywhere, so found a table for two. I went to sit down, and a server told me I needed to sit at the bar. I I said "the hostess said I could sit anywhere I wanted, if you want, you can ask her." to which I got "sir, I don't need you to get like that with me." I love their menu. The Irish nachos are perfect. But my favorite thing on the menu my friends and I call them "crack fries" it is the Parmesan crusted fries with a garlic aïoli. I'm not big on aïoli so I just eat them plain. They also have a ton of delicious drinks. read more

We dined in for an early dinner on a Saturday night! My wife and I love the Publik house. We were seated at a booth! The ambience here is great but it was a little too dark when we arrived around 4pm. The good news is the kitchen and bar opens at 4pm. The glasses are now plastic for water. We split a half order of Irish nachos with no sour cream! We have ordered these for years and the chips were good but different. We got a good amount of toppings and the cheese sauce is phenomenal. We both ordered medium well cheeseburgers with no tomatoes and fries. Both the burgers were a bit over cooked and dry. The beef still had good flavor. The buns were stale and cold. I didn't eat any of the bun! The fries were fresh cut and yummy. You get a few crispy fries, few soggy ones, and a good mixture of seasoning on the fries. We will always be back for the Irish nachos. We really love this restaurant but the food overall is not as good as it use to be. read more

First time at The Publik House last night. Loved how the bar looked, and they had a decent size crowd, for a Wednesday night. Our waitress was very friendly, and personable. I ordered a basic burger with pepper-jack cheese, fries and a side of Thousand Island for a fry dipping sauce. I ordered my burger medium well, not mooing on a pasture, but not burnt to hell. It came out medium rare, no cheese, the sides of the burger were torched, and lacked flavor. The fries were great though and so was the TI dipping sauce. My hubby ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and he wasn't impressed. He said it tasted like sliced lunch meat, very dry, and no flavor. Once again, the waitress and all the other servers were great. Both outdoor and indoor seating are available. Delicious flavor combinations in the apps and entrees. The full bar was a convenient option to grab some drinks while waiting to be seated. This place is pretty tiny so the crowd seems a bit loud if one is trying to have a decent conversation with their party. Wow! This was the best service in peoria by far and I've been to alot of peoria restaurants! We had 3 different waitresses help us with our order and super friendly about it! Then I think the owner gave us a bag for leftovers because we filled up fast on their awesome fries! Appetizers we had the Parmesan truffle fries with garlic aioli. It was good just alittle dry and the aioli was more like butter than a sauce. The bacon cheese and chives fries were amazing and delicious! Then we both had the smoked salmon BLT with a mustard vinaigrette salad. It was so amazing and delicious!! I also had the publik house salad but didn't like the vinaigrette dressing.
