My experience with Dr.Ulseth was amazing.He was so good to me after my bad back surgery ! He even visited me in hospital n got my orders fixed. He took over my after care when i got home from the hospital n when I was out of my mind so to speak he personally called me n helped me through a very difficult time. His staff was excellent to me as well! If you do what you are suppose to do you will never have a problem.He was my dr for 2 yrs until i moved out of state! I went in on March 19 it was my second time. He was condescending and yelled threatened not to see me if i didn't listen to him exactly the way he wanted. Put me on an antidepressants i never heard of a pain management dr doing this . Get this no pharmacy for 100 miles is willing to fill his prescriptions inverness ! CVS wo t do it Walgreens refused and all the other area on won't fill his Percocet etc scripts. I should've know n then and there he was a nut case!! Arrogant,condescending and rude to say the least. Would not recommend to an enemy. I had some serious personal issues preventing me from setting him so several months. He was nice first visit he seemed to motivate me. Well second and third visits caused me mental anguish and he just has a different kind of bedside manor and he does yell alot which I cant handle. If your a man you may like his style. But I will never allow anyone to treat me the way he does and yell at me. He is a joke! Went to him he didn't even look at my foot prescribed pain meds never saw him for 8 months and never him on the phone. He called me the most vulgar names that I have ever heard! He accused me of selling my medication when what had happened was my grandson was coming to my house and I threw the medication in my safe! I called to see if I could receive more and was told no problem! Called him 2 Days later and said I had found them and never never picked up the new prescription from the pharmacy. Also he was very upset that I didn't bring my empty bottle in. Well I had never been in his office for 8 months and did not know I had to. He knew what other medication I've been on for the 8 months I was in his office then all the sudden he had a problem with it! He is a drunk, could smell it on him and he also abused his ex-wife it can be proved I wish I would have looked on Yelp first and saw all his negative reviews! So far three of my other doctors have gone on Yelp and suggested I reported him, the names he called me were so out of line especially for a doctor! Oh and he also cut me off cold turkey of oxycodone the withdrawal was horrible and he did not care! Do not go to him! I will drive 200 mi if I have to to find a pain management doctor and one that will see me every 30 days because I was also told by the three doctors that that was the law I do believe this photo is the one from the police department! I think Doctor Ulseth is a fine doctor. He listened to me and spent almost an hour with me. He got me motivated to loose some weight and for that I am grateful. Too bad there's no zero rating because this alleged Anesthesiologist, thinks he's a psychiatrist. He attended a Human Resource meeting at Access Healthcare and told everyone he is now certifying patients for medical marijuana. I was referred to this alleged Pain Management Quack who acts like he's a psychiatrist instead of an anesthesiologist. He denies the fa ct that he certifies patients on MMJ. He stated he doesn't believe it helps anyone. He stated, he believes it causes people to get high or stoned. He stated it's a waste of nothing. Instead of asking about pain each patient is experiencing, he automatically states the patients have Major Depressive Disorders & refuses to discuss pain management, instead of trying to convince patients they all bipolar. I've read online over 300 reviews on this doctor. 99% of patients agree on his behavior. I agree because in the course of 5 minutes talking to him, I was not only refused certification in MMJ, I was refused spinal cord damage pain meds & he wrote me a Rx for an anti-depressive medication. Yes some do stop pain. This one created a serious drug reaction. Before even taking the drug, I read it causes hypertension. It sure does. 279/150 isn't a normal blood pressure reading. I was hoping the drug would stop my spinal cord pain. Instead my hypertensive meds were increased. I had thought he read my medical records sent to him which included drug allergies and hypertension. I showed him the bottle of anti-depressive meds, because he accused me of not taking it. My sister assured him I had and about an hour later, I was having an awful headache. He is a misogynistic piece of work. He won't look a woman in the eye while talking to me. I'm quite sure he puts woman down constantly, thinking to himself that he's more superior than women all are. At two different visits when I disagreed with what he said, he got up screaming his head off and told us to leave. As we got to the exit, he asked me "where do you think you're going?" We came back the first time, but the second time we left with copay still in wallet. He's on staff at local hospitals as an anesthesiologist. Before having surgery, ask who will be putting you to sleep. I don't trust his medical judgement, what so ever. He has an office in Inverness, FL. He may have one in Ocala FL as well. Another review I read about and experienced for myself he also demands patients lose 3# per week, to rid themselves of obesity. He doesn't agree that exercise works as well. I follow his rules/advise in return I received great care.... lost 40 lbs took a little and more to go but as long as you try and even with slow improvements he's happy. stress, weight and meds go hand and hand in managing pain I wouldn't be were I am now without him. The following is an accurate and objective account of true events. My husband's systemic cancer had progressed and the over the counter pain remedies no longer worked well for him. He was referred to Pain Management and Dr Ulseth was the only local physician who accepted my husbands health insurance. We sat in the waiting room for 2 hrs, 18 mins. When we asked if there was a problem, I overheard a staff member say; "oh shit, his chart is still sitting here!". We were called minutes later. Upon his entering the exam room, Dr Ulseth looked at "me" and immediately began to berate me for being obese. (Im a size 18/20) He accused me of being depressed and demanded that he write me 2 scripts, one for depression, one for anxiety. I had not said a word up to this point. I gently reminded him that I am NOT HIS PATIENT but he continued his dissertation. I interrupted him again and asked him to address my husbands needs. He raised his voice loudly and yelled at me; "You're too fat, there's something wrong with you." I looked into his eyes and realized that his face was flushed, his skin clammy wet, his eyes were red and his pupils were VERY DILATED. I am a retired medical professional and can easily spot and discern someone under the influence. He was clearly under the influence. When I pointed out that my husbands needs were not being met while using industry jargon, he looked like a deer in a headlight for a brief moment and finally resumed himself in a professional manner. He listened to my husband briefly- sent us to the window for scripts. At the window, one receptionist said to the other in exasperation; "If that Dr doesn't stop yelling at everyone Im walking out. I can't hear people standing at the window. This is all day long and I've had it!" Everyone in the area could hear him clearly as he raised him voice in an agitated state with other patients. We could actually hear the names of these patients which of course is a clear violation of HIPAA laws. The prescribed dosages were dangerously high. My husband became lethargic and slept at an average of 17hr blocks. He was grossly over-medicated and they needed to be adjusted according to my husbands weight, other medications he is taking and personal needs. Under this adjusted dosage (less than half), he now has pain relief and is still able to retain cognitive and independent function. Bottom line- if you are only after a script- then this Dr will serve you well if you can deal with his bizarre behaviors. If you have serious illness and you are not knowledgeable with schedule 3+ drugs nor have personal medical support, I would advise against Dr Ulseth. Please be careful out there. read more

To me he is an amazing dr. He truly understands pain and all that's involved w it. It's very obvious he goes above and beyond what is required of a dr. I've seen some negative reviews but my response to that is this: in today's world of pain medication abuse, in order to keep doing what he does for his patients, he absolutely is not going to tolerate any bull, sob stories, or beating around the bush or demands of what a patient says they must have. This man truly knows his stuff. If you come to him and he changes anything up, or questions former practices, he is not one to be pushed into doing specifically what one wants bc he beyond knows all aspects to chronic pain and many times he can see right through what we ourselves even can't. In the 20years I've been in pain management I have never ever met a more knowledgeable dr when it comes to the psychological aspects to pain and how it effects our lives. He is the first dr to truly understand what I live w daily and just knowing his no bs but understanding mentally has made such an extreme improvement in my life. I highly recommend him. read more
