I love this place it such a healthy environment no messy testers no nothing I recommend this place if your on a budget

I visited Ulta this Saturday for my first cosmetic makeover ever. I was on a strict time schedule and also very weary of anyone doing my makeup but wanted to treat myself on my birthday. I voiced my concerns and Nichole was my artist. She did a great job! I felt sexy and simple, just as requested, and made it out on time. One thing I liked about her approach was how she reached out to the other artists who were "better" at specific areas like contouring and lip color, to give me the best experience possible, rather than attempting on her own. I suppose the only downfall was that the price was a little high, but all their best products were being used. I just don't know much about makeup. I'd do this again for a fun event. read more

I was super stoked when I saw that Ulta had finally made it out to Kankakee County! They carry so many lines that anyone on any budget can shop their for all their beauty needs. The girls working there are oh so helpful and will let you try out the cosmetics and even help you find the right colors. I also have used the salon at Ulta for everything from hair coloring, cut, style, gel manicures and facials! There is always an incredible sale going on and if you sign up for the free rewards card you rack up points that take $$ off your future purchases. This store is clean and bright and the salon is very comfortable. I definitely recommend. read more

This review is for the Benefit Brow Bar inside Ulta. Jessica tweezed my eyebrows and they look soooo much better! I like the Brow Bar because they have the Benefit makeup so they can fill in your eyebrows after you get them waxed, tweezed, or threaded. I totally need my sparse brows filled in! Jessica was very cheerful and friendly and knowledgable. I will definitely be going back to her in a few weeks for my next round of brow maintenance. What are you waiting for? If you are over thirty don't bother going in. They ignored me, but they kept approaching my daughter's. Hey! I'm the one with money to spend, and probably would welcome a new look, but hey, you keep sucking up to these younger girls, with less money. Oh and by the way, my daughter said she got followed by the staff, and given nasty looks. She felt like they were watching her for theft. Not going back. read more

I don't know how this location remains open. Never busy never crowded. For that reason great selection, even of clearance items. I was here a week who and the cashier was not rude but made no eye contact with me during the transaction. It was uncomfortable and obvious. Shame because I am more than willing to shop here as you won't experience crowds or lack of selection like in orland park. read more

My girlfriend loves this place so I thought I'd check it out. I grew my hair out to donate to Locks for Love and while it was growing I was enjoying the opportunity to play around with shampoos and conditioners etc. The selection is huge. As a dude, I never knew a lot of these items even existed. Empathy for the ladies and all the crazy things they do to look good. Much appreciated. Prices are all over the spectrum. I found the help to be helpful in answering my rudimentary questions. read more

My review is for Jessica at the benefit brow bar. She does a great job every time she does my eyebrows. She's very sweet and knowledgeable!

If I could give this Ulta no stars, I would. I have had several negative experiences there. Once making a purchase the cashier told me that my card did not scan properly and asked me to scan it again. When I pointed out that it did go through because it came up for Signature she insisted that it didn't and that she was deleting the transaction and for me to rescan my card I expressed concern about being double-charged and she assured me that this would not happen. Wrong! Not only was I double charged for the same transaction, when I went to the store with a bank statement as proof that they indeed had taken twice the money for one transaction, the young woman I spoke with smiled glibly, told me that they didn't handle that in the store I would have to call the 800 number. She promptly ripped a little piece of receipt off and scribbled down a number and handed it to me, dismissing me by walking away. I spent the next 6 weeks calling corporate customer service trying to get a sizable amount of money refunded to my account. Following one delay after another, I finally reached someone in their customer service who tried to assuage me by sending me some paltry $10 gift card or coupon. Next big mistake they made was when I made an appointment at the salon. (Actually, apologies...MY MISTAKE.) When I made the appointment, they advised me to bring a picture to the stylist who is reputed to be excellent at providing the service that I was requesting. I did as suggested and brought a collection of pictures showing exactly what I expected. As soon as the stylist started to dry my hair I could tell that indeed she had come nowhere near what I had requested. She completely changed the color of my hair by about 8 shades in the opposite color spectrum. I tried to be nice, paid my way-overpriced fee for a way under-talented job, and left. When I went back later after thinking further about how I had paid way too much for a very incompetent job, I was told by another sales person that it must have been the water at my house or my hair wasn't compatible with their product, etc. Again... wrong. Not my fault. I went in because I could get an appointment on short notice before heading out of town for vacation. The only other time I've had such horrendous results on a simple highlighting job was another Ulta Salon! And on top of that they offered me no recourse... no refund, no offer to fix the horrible job at no cost to me. Extremely poor customer service implying that it is my fault that my hair did not turn out correctly, and very poor business practice not to correct your errors! I will no longer shop at Ulta. My time and money means more to me, obviously, than it does to them. If I need cosmetics or hair products from now on, I will simply go to an actual salon with competent stylists. Better yet, stick with Sephora. Much better yet. read more

I've tried giving this place a chance and every time I go in it's a bad experience. The employees are rude and I never feel welcome there.

First of all I would like to say the staff specifically in the salon are completely fantastic! I came To Ulta Salon to get my hair color corrected it was terrible (my hair color was black, blue, brown, red, with blotches of blonde..) it was embarrassing. Megan Palmateer the salon manager had the incredible task of correcting my hair issues. This was my first time coming into Ulta's hair salon. I was greeted with professional staff, Megan had inquired on what exactly I was looking for, gave me an estimate, had notified me that this was going to be a lengthy process depending on how well my hair reacted, and she made no promises on getting exactly what I wanted but vowed to get a close as she could possibly get considering how unevenly colored my hair was I understood. My appointment was scheduled for 4 pm everything I had asked for had been completed by 9pm. 5 hours long, and Megan was scheduled to leave at 6p. Not only did she stay three hours after her shift, she never rushed and enjoyed correcting my hair. Did I mention I had my 12 year old son with me? He had a ball. Once everything was completed my bill was a little bit pricey. but my hair is absolutely beautiful!!! I'm incredibly happy with the color of it, the way my hair feels is remarkable after all that I had done today, and the staff made me feel like I was at home with friends. So to all of you ladies out there when it comes to you, how you feel, who you trust, whom your surrounded by. Ask yourself How important are these things to you and is the price worth it?
