Thr store is dirty and dusty. Testers are expired and disgusting. There is no care taken in this place whatsoever. Management is lacking and the "clean" brands are definitely not clean as advertised. I made an appointment for a cut and color as a gift for my wife. I brought photos or the cut, and a detailed photo of the color that my wife and I had found on the internet. I discussed and showed her photos of the cut and color we wanted with Amber when making the appointment. I also left the photos and discussed the expectations again when I took my wife for the appointment. The haircut was okay. Not great, not terrible. It was absolutely not what we expected. The color was a huge disappointment. Amber and I had discussed the price, and I was told that " a few less foils" could be used, and the price would be less, but the results would be similar. The result was absolutely nothing like the photo. We had to get into the sunlight in order to see any color at all. We were shooting for blended strands of brown, copper, light brown and black. My wife's natural hair color is black. We ended up with totally black hair, with an almost invisible fire engine red faint tint in places. I could actually have gotten a box color and gotten similar results. I'd highly recommend going elsewhere. This review is for Katie Joe in the Benefit Brow Bar. Finding places that will thread is far and few between, so I was excited when I learned there was a person at Ulta who could do it. I go there and tell her how hard I've worked to grow my hair out on the sides and how I like my eyebrows thicker, PARTICULARLY ON THE SIDES, she says oh of course. She also says she's "new to threading" and that she'll just pluck inbetween. Okay no problem.. yall this girl ruined years and years of growing out my eyebrows. I am literally distraught. She shorted them up so bad. Also, I was never told what the price for threading was. Standard at most other places is $15, tops. While I'm leaving upset about my eyebrows, she says oh we don't have pricing for threading, so I just charged for a wax... which was $27. Call me crazy but that information should be disclosed ahead of time. Long story short, if you want to keep the hard work you've done on your eyebrows, stay far far away from here. read more

I usually do not like coming here as make up is so hard for me to wear as I am allergic to so much of it. They are getting a bigger selection it seems of clean make up. I hope that trend continues. BUT....this past experience when I was there, I had help from a lovely young lady with red hair, as always I forgot her name, and she helped me with finding my right shade of concealer and a setting spray. Nice store, clean, organized, plenty of staff & smiles. However, I was looking for makeup from Pacifica, none found. No Mad Hippie Triple C Cream in stock that I usually buy from the Ulta in Mobile. They do carry Covergirl, L'Oréal, even Wet'NWild, some of the more known & trusted makeup brands. Nail Polish selection needs restocking. Also, why are theSally Hansen Nail Products and nail tools clear across the store from the other nail colors from more expensive brands? It is a little confusing. I just think all the mail Care & polish should be in one centralized location. This store could be better. I only spent $59 here today. The Ulta in West Mobile is much better. read more

This Ulta is kind of small compared to the Mobile location, so the selection isn't as great. However, it was very clean and organized which was nice when looking for particular products. All of the staff wear masks, but not everyone wore their mask correctly. I was shopping for skin care products in the back-right corner, and one lady at the hair service area was SO STINKIN' LOUD. I honestly left without everything I had come in for simply for her volume. I don't know how those getting their hair done could stand it. It was nice that, while a few employees passed by me without a word, one lady took the time to offer assistance if I needed it. I'm assuming she may have been a manager, but it was nice of her to offer. I'm sure I'll be back as needed, but I won't be rushing here. The Mobile location is larger and only 25 minutes away, or the app provides access to all products at the push of a couple buttons. I was leery about getting my hair done here but after a few bad experiences in the area, I gave it a shot. Bethany is exceptional with color! I thought it would feel kind of out in the open but it doesn't. The girls here are super close and it seems like an old school salon vibe. They aren't snobby and don't rush or judge you. They also recommended some products to me that have absolutely changed my life. (Well, my hair lol!) You can use Ulta points in the salon too. Two weeks ago I went to Ulta in DAPHNE, ALABAMA. I asked the stylist to give me a simple toner for my blonde highlights. I have frosted my own hair for years and she commented on what a great job I had done. I showed her the light blonde color I wanted on the hair color ring. Light blonde. I asked her twice about the color. She was also busy with another color job and was very distracted. I did schedule for the toner and a trim. I nearly fainted when they washed the toner out - another stylist washed my hair since mine was too busy, and she had turned my hair BLACK, GREY and PURPLE! She continued to work on the other customer while I sat there looking like a Halloween show. It took her an hour to finally wash the junk out but it was still very dark with purple undertones. SHE ACTUALLY TRIED TO MAKE ME KEEP THE COLOR AND DRY MY HAIR! Two and one half hours later I left with brown hair with a purple undertone. My head was hot for two days. I tried for days to wash it out. Finally had to go to an experienced stylist and $250 dollars later, my hair was restored. I called the salon and asked for the manager. She promised to call me back because I wanted a refund. THEY NEVER CALLED. I shouldn't have paid in the first place but I wanted to get the hell out of there. STAY AWAY FROM ULTA. UNPROFESSIONAL AND THEY DON'T CARE. The worst salon experience I have ever had bar none. If I could give a minus 10 rating I would. The stylist was Megan. My hair was so majorly messed up. The layers was all in one section and there was a tail of hair, just so much wrong with it. So to Ulta I go. I got in at 5:30 and the store closes on Sunday at 6 so I was very surprised that with my messed up hair that the stylists were so open to help me. I really wish I could remember the girl's name that fixed my hair, but she did amazing! I would definitely go there again. read more

I was a little uneasy about making an appointment since I am from out of town, but I desperately needed a cut and color. I found myself with a little time on my hands so I took the chance. I am so glad I did. Brian was amazing. My hair looks and feels terrific. Everyone there was extremely friendly and offered to assist me multiple times. I am giving one Star because it want let me give none. Salon is the worst place. I went in on a Monday for them to evaluate my hair. Made a appointment to get it done with a price quote. I go in an my stylist was late. First thing she did was asked to add a $20 product to my service. Then after a test strip of 20 minutes, she tells me she going to charge me $50 dollars every half hour. This should have been said on Monday. To say the least I left. This is the second time I have gone to this salon and the are horrible. The my have nice attitude but it is easy to smile while they are ripping you off. The change over in works is a lot. I love everything about Ulta! This particular store is fabulous! I had a keratin treatment and haircut with Manager, Holly. She was my stylist in Pensacola and I have no problem traveling to continue to have her as my stylist. She is knowledgeable, effervescent, professional and every other positive adjective that I can think of. I also had my brows done at the brow bar. The consultant mapped, drew, waxed, primed and concealed my brows. It is one of the only times I could go somewhere else after having my brows done. Everytime I have entered the store I have been treated with nothing less than quick, concise, and courteous help from the staff both in the retail section and in the salon. ESPECIALLY the salon. All the stylists are nice and funny and EXTREMELY talented at what they do. The stylist who I see time and time again (Bethany) has provided nothing but top notch service and the best haircuts I've ever had. 6/5 REVIEW!!!!! (even though that's not possible LOL). Anyone who doesn't enjoy the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere of this store and the polite, friendly service of the staff within should be institutionalized because they must be CRAZY not to instantly fall in love with this place. Work salon service ever. My appt was for 11am and the girl wasn't through until 5pm. I got a trim and a color. While my color was processing she took 2 clients. That didn't seem like such a big deal to me at first until I realized my hair was damaged after she rinsed my hair out. I didn't realize how long I'd been there either as I spent a lot of time browsing the store while I waited. Was charged $152.00 for the simple service. I have been going to Ulta for a couple of years now and I am thrilled with the entire salon. Bethany is the only one I let touch my familys' hair. She is exceedingly talented and takes time to listen to her clients needs and wants. Everytime we walk out, we feel amazing. The 1st time I visited this store, I was followed around by an employee. Guess she thought I was going to steal something. They could have at least greeted me prior to stepping on my heels. I made my 200+$ purchase and left thinking maybe the employee was having a bad day. The 2nd time, several months later, different employee did the same thing. Except this time my elderly mother was with me. When we walked in the store we went directly to the "expensive" makeup side. As I knelt down to look, an employee rudely asked "what are you looking for?". I replied some powder and mascara. She walked away. Next thing we know she is on our heels. She followed us around the store and when asked by another employee what she was doing, the girl stated "STALKING!". I have never encountered anything like this in any store! I have shopped in very high end department stores and boutiques and have never been treated this way! I made my purchase 50+$ purchase and left. I would have spent more money had I not been treated like this. I will not ever go back to this or any Ulta! I will be spreading the word not to go here! read more
