The People that make up Val Verde Nursing and Rehabilitation Center are the most nicest, friendliest and educated staff. They provide excellent care for dementia and Alzheimer disease. The facility is undergoing a facelift at this time and their parking lot needs improvements, but that is just cosmetic. What matters is the care that this facility provides to their residents. She had a hard time finding a job because she is not bilingual, apparently, this is a requirement in del Río Texas because it's so close to the border with Mexico. She finally found a temporary job at JCPenney/ Sephora. She was hired as a temp but then was offered a permanent position the week of Christmas. She was then called into the Sephora managers office on December 30th and because she was not signing up enough customers for the JCPenney credit card she was let go. Apparently this is a JCPenney requisite to be able to maintain your job. You must request / offer customers sign up for debt so JCPenney can make money with interest on every purchase. She did not meet the goal hence her dismissal. This policy came from the higher ups in the company.... Juan Torres the store manager and Christy the area manager. I will note that my daughter never called in or was late for her shifts, she is very responsible, especially since they count on her income to feed the family. She called in on December 31st for the first time because my oldest granddaughter had to travel to Colorado and flights were canceled due to weather but informed her manager of the situation. Nevertheless, she was terminated and told it was because she wasn't meeting the JCPenney criteria of signing up customers for the JCPenney credit card which was a requirement to be able to maintain her job. How sad that people are treated this way by a Company that has been around forever and that our service members and their families are treated in such a way when they depend on the income to take care of their families!!! I called JCPenney corporate to express my disappointment in the treatment and policies they have in place but was given the round a round. I hope my post brings awareness to the policies of JCPenney and the treatment of employees and I also hope this changes. Terrible customer service and terrible scheduling. And the quality of the actual dentistry leaves…read morealot to be desired. I was told that the temporary crown would last 2 months before it needed to be replaced. It's fallen off twice in 5 weeks. So i pushed up my appointment to have the permanent one installed to today. I confirmed that change with the front desk staff 4 separate times on the phone. 4 times I said "September 2nd, Friday, right?" and 4 times I was told that I would be seen today. When I show up today, I was told they have scheduled me on September 9th, that the doctor wasn't in and that my old appointment was filled so now I have to wait a full week with half a tooth to get it repaired. And they acted like it was my fault that they wrote down the wrong day on their calendar. Incompetence is one thing, but incompetence with an attitude is just plain unacceptable. I'm sure there are other decent dentists in this town, but I will never go back to Louis Cadena Dentistry after they finally put my crown in. Poor dental service and horrid customer service. Edited: Further interactions with them (only ones covered by my insurance, so I have no choice in the matter) have been marginally better
