I went to this store on a Sunday to get my roots done and my hair toned. Well I leave with semi toned hair that is 3 colors. I also went back another day to get it fixed, and the girl let me walk out of the salon with patches or orange in my hair where she didn't color it enough!! I went back the day after for someone to fix my hair and I sat for 2 hours and said I would come back. I scheduled an appointment with the salon manager whom I should've done with from the start. I can't speak for the store, but my experience at the salon was a nightmare. Fried hair, there for hours, patchy, brassy color, weird lines all over. Never have I had my hair turn out so poorly. It cost nearly double, plus more 4 more hours for someone to do color and damage correction. The only solution that Ulta offered me, after calling many times to speak to a manager, was to come back in to have them "fix" it. I had no confidence in them after my experience and wasn't willing to roll the dice again. Do not waste your time or money! read more

Great service. Sydney is always helpful and courteous. Love the clearance section and there is always so many coupons. I wish the store had MAC but they do offer an option for free shipments and you can return it when it's the wrong shade is incorrect so I appreciated that. read more

The Ulta Beauty at Harrisonburg is my favorite stop for all things beauty. Yes, they typically are understaffed, but that is not there fault. However, the girls who do work there are very kind and work hard to meet your every expectation. They put their customers first and don't complain at all when you need hands on help, like being matched to a foundation. The salon is just as good! My favorite hair stylist is Jamie. She's very professional and does an amazing job with all of her clients. She saved my hair from extreme damage. I highly recommend this location for both your shopping and hair needs! read more

I have an awful experience every time I come to this store. They never have what I'm looking for. Their website will say they sell in store and I get there and they dont have. I will pull up a coupon I've gotten and they will tell me they arent accepting there (this has happened multiple times). The most recent experience, I called before I went there on my lunch break to ask if they had something in stock, the woman who answered said yes, drove 30 mins and wasted my whole lunch and they didnt even sell in store. THE WOMAN LIED TO ME. And all I got from the store worker was oh I'm sorry. Very very poor customer service. read more

I had a really bad experience at Ulta in Harrisonburg. I went early Thursday morning to exchange a product & to make a purchase. The manager was very nice & very helpful. When I went to check out the employee behind the register did not acknowledge me. She rang up my merchandise & never said a word. I had asked her a couple of questions while I was waiting to pay and she totally ignored me. By the third attempt to get her to answer and acknowledge me, I finally said "can you hear me?" - she said "what?!" I said to her I have asked you a question 3 times and you won't answer me. She laid into me. She rolled her eyes at me & threw my merchandise down on the counter. I told her she had no reason to be rude to me. I simply has asked a question & I couldn't understand why she didn't answer me. - she proceeded to call me a bitch. She walked around from behind the counter, stood within inches of my face and started yelling at me. She was yelling in my face. She called me a bitch again. This store is ALWAYS mess and NEVER stocked, and the store is never crazy busy to explain always being out of products. This store also never carries new products. So if you're looking for the latest release of your favorite beauty brands, don't go to this store. It's my opinion, the store is very poorly managed. read more

This specific store is always understaffed. I've been here many times and there's always only one person at the register, even when there is a line. It's really hard to find someone in the store to help you and there's usually only one other person on the floor. They definitely need more staff. I have left several times not buying products due to someone not available to help. Sephora is much better help-wise as well as better brand selection of makeup. read more

I've been to several Ulta Beauty stores in Virginia and this has to be the worst I've ever encountered. I wouldn't say they were understaffed, but that the staff they had working had no interest in helping customers whatsoever. I went Christmas shopping there on December 22, 2017. I immediately found the Tarte sweet peach eyeshadow palette for one of my daughters. There were only a few in stock, so I picked one up and carried around with me until I could find the Morphe eyeshadow palette that my other daughter wanted for Christmas. (Which I finally found out they didn't carry in-store UGH) Suddenly, an alarm on the Tarte palette started going off and a staff person appeared to snatch it out of my hand. All she told me was that she was taking it up front. For the remainder of the time that I was in the store the employee that snatched the eyeshadow watched me like a hawk as if I were a shoplifter!! If my daughter had not wanted that makeup so bad, I would've left this store without purchasing a thing. The employee that checked me out at the counter was no better. She definitely did not want to be working at Ulta that evening. She rolled her eyes at a young man that came to the counter for help and yelled, "can someone help him?!?" I spent over $100 on two eyeshadow palettes and mascara and I expected better customer service. read more
