After a serious health scare, and no luck with other local stylists, we made a same day appointment to 1. brush through the knot at the back where it was worst. Just one spot really. Do a good, deep washing. Followed by a light trim. To get the knot free, she took scissors and whacked it out. Leaving me with a very awkward, very short 2 inch swath, followed by a quick shampoo, little 2 minute trim, and ta da, finished. No styling, no blow drying, nada. They charged us $100 bucks. Add on a $25 tip. $125 for a service that took at most 20 minutes. My poor husband was just trying to make me feel better and had no idea what this type of service should be. I was too sick to assert myself. We will never return. For any purchases or service needs, I will find other means to get them. My whole circle of girls, young women, my inner circle knows of this fiasco. Makes me sad. But have formally said goodby. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. Do NOT use their salon for anything ever. I went in wanting some simple chopped layers. Granted the cut looked cute and styled when I left, once I got home I was in tears. My hair was basically a mullet. I went back the next day to get it fixed in which the manager was rude and defensive. However. She did try to fix it but even said the exact words, "If I cut anymore it'll be a mullet" I will never be back. Also attaching pictures for reference. read more

I don't typically write bad reviews, but I wanted to share my experience honestly to help others in their shopping choice. In all fairness, I typically shop at Sephora. This day I didn't want to brave the mall, so I decided to try Ulta. I was looking for two specific brands and wanted to get in and get out. I entered the store and there were two employees doing makeup... on which I would assume were customers. Other than that, no other associates were around. I walked around the beauty section looking for CoverFX for about twenty minutes. That brand apparently wasn't there? Not sure. No one offered to help or even spoke to me. The store was not busy at all either. I was also looking for Tatcha cream, which was also nowhere to be found. Again, I usually shop at Sephora and prefer their wide selection and great service. Ulta just didn't have what I needed, sadly. I ended up leaving and wasn't too impressed. I probably won't go back to an Ulta again... more drug store/big box makeup than anything. I prefer smaller brands that don't test on animals and are cruelty free, so I can be pretty selective. This store was a miss. If service had been better, they may have suggested alternatives and gotten a good rating from me. Sadly, that didn't happen. read more

I just now left this ulta out of pure frustration. Everytime I go in here, I leave in utter disappointment. They people there always seem to be rude and have no time to help you or they never have a great stock of products. I went in with the full intentions to blow money and left putting everything back. The First Lady upon entering was very friendly. I had asked another lady to help me find a foundation and help me shade match it. She curtly led me around, quickly rambling about foundations, directed me to the wedges and said have at it. As a person who works retail, it's insane to me not to help someone. All she was concerned about was to hurry up and get back to what she was doing. I will now never return to this location and drive out of my way to go to the Johnson City location or the Pinnacle. read more

It's been a LOOONG time since I was able to go have my hair done. Yesterday, I had an appointment with Lori and she did an amazing job and she has such an amazing personality. I normally struggle to make conversation with the stranger putting goop in my hair but she was great. The other staff were also friendly and very helpful. My hair looks great and I plan to go back when it's time for a touch up! I highly recommend Lori for color needs. read more

For Salon experience I'd give it a -1 if I could but the sales staff and Sam at the Brow Bar were very nice. The salon is a different story. This is the second time I've called ahead to make an appointment only to be left waiting over 45 minutes before rescheduling. About 2months ago I call on a Monday for a Thursday 5:30 appointment. I arrived at 5:25 and was told by the sales girl who asked if I needed help while I was standing at the Salon desk with no acknowledgement from the stylist working on a client. The salesgirl said they were a little behind, it should be soon. I waited and waited, another woman showed up for a 6 pm appointment. Same thing, she's running a little behind. We both sat for another half hour. Still not a word from the stylist who could clearly see she had two clients waiting. A sales girl came back, the stylist finished and she came over to the desk with the salesgirl and complained about how the online appointment program was not working right, that's why she was so behind. I mentioned I had called direct to book as did the woman also waiting and the stylist said, well I won't have time to do two haircuts before I leave. Say What? The other woman was clearly more upset than I so I offered to rebook my appointment for Saturday and left at 6:15. An hour & a quarter after my appointment time. Came in that Saturday morning and had no issues. Good haircut,quick & easy. Made the mistake of calling Friday for an appointment yesterday (Saturday) was told I had my pick of several times, I picked 5pm. Was there at 4:55 after a brow wax and it was a repeat of my first experience. Was first told they were a little behind, then left waiting and waiting, and waiting. One acknowledgement from the sales staff and noting from the two stylists. Another two clients came in and I finally left at 5:50 with out ever even being asked if I'd like to reschedule or any contact at all. This is the worst customer service Ulta Salon I've ever seen. I won't even shop there anymore. The manager should really give those stylists some remedial customer service training. Don't book a haircut there is you have less than 2 hours and like to be ignored. read more

The actual store is great, but I would not go to the salon. I paid $100 to get my hair dyed and not only was it not anything like the color I asked for but they told me they couldn't fix it because my hair was too fragile from the chemicals they had put on it. read more

Probably the best Ulta I've visited. My handicapped sister and I came in here with my niece (her daughter) and they were so helpful and patient with us. They were having a great sale so were quite busy, but the sales girl helped us even when we were shopping for non-prestige brands (which technically violates their sales model I later learned, but she never once acted rude or snooty when we asked for help with the Ulta brand). My sister was in a wheelchair with long legs, so we were quite bulky to maneuver. we did our best to stay out of anyone's way, but with a wheelchair in a crowded store, that isn't easy. Neither the staff nor the customers made us feel bad at all, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. We got some great products at a wonderful price, and they even took the time to help my niece learn how to put it on. read more

I seem to have mixed experiences at this location, but more times than not it feels like I get ignored by every person on the floor. Several times I've gone into this location the girls in the prestige makeup section are more wrapped up in putting makeup on themselves than helping the customers. I don't know if they're supposed to be doing their own makeup, but I feel like it looks very unprofessional for you to be on be floor doing your makeup. You should come to work ready to go. I was in this store yesterday, and I just felt like a couple of customers got some attention while I and a few others were ignored between the girl doing her own makeup and checking in on one or two people. I had full intentions of making a few purchases because I have a wedding coming up and could really have used the assistance and opinions of an employee. I felt odd if I were to approach her while she was applying her own makeup...so instead after being walked by several times I just left disappointed. Amy Jones Smith is the best Hair Stylist and Hair Colorist I have ever been to. I am a very happy customer and use to be in the Hair Styling business myself and have never found anyone as good as Amy is. Love to go to the salon and always looking forward to my appointments . Amy is the BEST , my hair looks like someone out of one of those high fashion magazines , I just can't say how great my hair looks . read more
