I walked in and walked by no fewer than six store associates. One was too busy looking at her phone to even look up. The others were too busy, laughing and chatting with each other to ask if I needed help finding anything. The manager walked out of the back room and didn't say hello. Heaven forbid you don't want to give a phone number when you check out and you'll get a very cold reception and lie that you can't return things. I asked the store manager if that was true and they said no. You need to remember your demographic who may not look like young glamour queens. We tend to have far more money to spend in there and will spend far more when we receive a basic level of Customer Service. Thankfully, there is a Beauty First nearby. read more

I've been going to this Ulta for years and never had a bad experience, only nice people. Have frequently gone to the Benefit Brow Bar and find it the best in town. Take my daughter here for haircuts and she really bonded with one of the stylists, now we can't live without this place! I see some bad reviews, just here to say that hasn't been my experience, I've consistently had great customer service. It's my happy place. read more

I asked Luna to help me find several products, particularly foundation, mascara, and for eyebrows. She clearly enjoyed offering me several options and then allowed me to choose - without making me feel obligated to buy any of the products. I was there quite a while and didn't feel rushed and I appreciated her patience. I don't use makeup very often so her knowledge of the products and the proper way to apply them was really helpful. The employees need to be more appreciative of returning clients and their guests. I think attitudes need serious adjustments one would be; accepting younger guest especially when celebrating a birthday and spending money. This is why Sephora is so much better for client service. As a mall associate and frequent shopper, even though I could get a discount on the same items at my place of employment, I feel the treatment of my grandkids was unacceptable and frankly rude. Employees were extremely unhelpful and Not interested in helping customers. I asked for a specific product they didn't carry. Instead of helping me find something they do sell I was told to buy online. They stood together (4 of them) and talked. I normally spend a lot on Ulta but this time I used my points and that was it. This Ulta is amazing! When you go, ask for Candy! She is amazing and extremely helpful! She goes above and beyond to help you find what you need and answer your questions. She is absolutely the best Ulta employee I have ever met! As a person with dark skin, it is always hard to find makeup that actually matches your skin tone, but she did an amazing job helping me find a perfect shade and I have been so pleased with it! My wife has shopped here for years. Entered the store at night and quickly got her three items she intended to purchase and walked back to the checkout counter and nobody was there, the doors were locked, and the alarms went off. She quickly called 911 and put the three items on the counter and waited for police and store personnel to arrive. To make a long story short, the store person argued that they swept the store and she couldn't have been missed, they announced "store closing " three times, and said she came in after the store was closed-all which was false! The policeman even noted the sign on the door she entered indicated it was still open and acknowledged her for calling the police! The store person continued to argue and treat her like a criminal! DO NOT MAKE SALON APPTS AT THIS STORE AND DEFINITELY NOT WITH SHAYLEE R!!!! If I could put 0 stars I would! I am so outraged by my experience with the salon at this store today. I scheduled an appointment for today 7/8/23 at 1:30pm to have the service "Total Blonde" with the add on service of Olaplex Repair and Protect. I received a confirmation text after scheduling the appointment as well as 2 more text messages this week, Reminders of my appointment. (Perhaps they need to provide these reminders to the stylists as well) When I arrived today at approximately 1:25pm a young guy(I didn't get any names) asked if he could help me, I told him I was there for an appointment with Shaylee at 1:30pm. He told me she was just finishing up another customer and directed me to a chair where I could wait. About 5 minutes later a woman -walked up to the counter and said are you waiting for an appt with Shaylee? I said yes, I had an appointment at 1:30. She stated she will need to call Shaylee. I ask- call her? Isn't she here? I had an appointment at 1:30pm. The woman didn't answer, but instead attempted a call on a mobile phone with no answer, when the previous guy walks up, she says to him "I'm calling her, but she's not answering". The woman then makes a call on the store land line. Again no answer. The woman then proceeds to tell me that Shaylee called in sick today and I would not be able to have my appointment. At this point I am very frustrated wondering why, if this person is sick did they not call me ahead of time as I have now driven all the way across town for this appointment. My guess at this point is she has just not shown up for her appointments, but for some reason they are saying she is sick which is clearly a lie. I am extremely furious now as they are trying to tell me they will need to reschedule my appointment to tomorrow. I explain my hair appointment for today was made specifically as I have a special occasion tomorrow- which shouldn't really matter, but I explain this nonetheless. They continue to tell me they have no one that can do my hair and they are sorry that this stylist has called out sick- again an obvious lie. If someone called out sick the supervisor or manager should have made a call to let me know this and based on the statement of the first guy, she is clearly not sick, but just didn't show up. I angrily tell them this action is absolutely not acceptable nor a way to do business and I walk to the front of the building wanting to speak with the building manager. The line is long at the front, so I walk back to the salon and all of a sudden there is another woman with a headset on looking at the computer and I ask if she is the Manager, to which she admits. She again states this stylist is sick and she understands my frustration, and says let me see what I can do-she speaks to the only stylist working and finishing a color and states she still needs to finish the customers hair, which will take at least another hour. The blond woman asks if she can fit me in and the young stylist says "well if I stay late I can probably do her later tonight (this person should not have to stay and be penalized for Shaylee's decision to be a no call/no show, nor would I ever ask that- its not her fault), or if my 4:15pm appt doesn't show up I can do it then. The manager does not ask if this works for me, but rather takes my number after telling me my information is no longer in the computer - so they must have deleted my appt information as soon as I walked away, but she proceeds to tell me that this young stylist will call me later if she can fit me in. I never received a phone call today that she either could or could not take me. The manager should have called me to give me a heads up one way or the other. Poor management skills!!! On a Saturday afternoon as anyone can imagine, there was no where that could fit me in to color my hair. I tried 5 different salons, although I had no doubts there would not be anyone available on a Saturday afternoon. This whole process was COMPLETELY unacceptable and a super crappy way to run a business. I hope this Shaylee is fired as her actions have reflected extremely poorly on your business and store manager. I will let everyone I know the story of what happened as well as STRONGLY suggesting they never make an appointment with this business!! read more

Great customer service. I came in with a hair product issue causing some tragic build-up. One of the gals working there (I can't remember her name, but she had pretty green hair!) very gently explained why the products I'd been using weren't right for my hair type, and suggested two new products, which immediately corrected my problem. Love this Ulta. I've been to Ulta stores around the US and this Lincoln store is tops in customer service for sure. The staff is always quick to say hello and offer to help. Less busy than most Ulta stores I've been to so you can check out quickly. Large cosmetic, perfume and skin care selection. Bath and body, candles and nail polish galore. What else could a girl ask for? In addition, they always are so friendly even when returning. As far as Ulta goes, of course we all know they have a huge selection of cosmetics, hair supplies, body supplies and etc. They even have a salon in the back that provides hair and skin services. Love that they always give coupons and send high quality booklets to you in the mail with all the latest must haves. read more

Ulta offers PayPal checkout, cool right? NOT instead of taking the money out of my PayPal Credit they charged me $90 twice one out of the credit and one out my personal checking account. Contacted customer service MULTIPLE times through Ulta, and PayPal whom stated this was Ulta I needed to speak with, after their ignorant staff had no clue what in gods name they were doing, I ended up having the money come out of my PayPal CHECKING NOT ONCE BUT TWICE NOW. Let me first say that I love Ulta's products and have had great experiences in this location as well as others. This post is for one particular experience. **For those who don't want to read- Hey Lincoln Ulta- work on your customer service a bit!!** Story time: I was waiting on my friend while she was getting her hair done and went around to peruse the makeup aisles. While doing this I used the sampler products to prep my skin before trying some foundations. The entire time however there was an older associate who stuck to my side, except in every other aisle. Pretty sure she was following me as I kind of took her on a wild goose chase to see how long she would continue to shadow me. Stayed by me just about the entire time but at no point asked me if I needed help. I had no purse on me and was wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Made me uncomfortable in the way that I did not feel welcome in the store. And I get it, although your job is focused on customer service, you also need to protect the merchandise. I would just say that instead of creating an atmosphere where the customer feels profiled, as a sales associate or manager, go up to the customer and strike up a conversation to at least be able to keep eyes on them and get a feel for their intentions. The way I was being followed just pissed me off and made me want to either 1. spend way more money than I could afford to prove a point or 2. quit going to the store. I just didn't buy anything but i'll be back (because i really do love Ulta) and if it happens again maybe i'll just politely address the situation. read more
