I'm not one to wear heavy make-up but I do wear light browns & natural looking colors!!! This store has the bare mineral products which are my go to. Natural base. I got lucky with amazing skin and great skin tone. I mean healthy lifestyle helps a lot. I need to leave my greys now so 20yr olds would stop trying to pick me up. Loool... I'm aging backwards. I'm writing this review with genuine pain and frustration after my experience at the Ulta Salon in Bonita, Pompano Beach. I was there from about 3:45 PM until nearly 9:40 PM, and what should have been a simple color and haircut appointment turned into a devastating experience. I came in with clear inspiration photos and trusted the stylist with something incredibly important to me. My hair is a huge part of my image, my confidence, and how I show up in the world. Instead of what I asked for, I walked out with brassy orange hair, a terrible blowout, and a haircut so poorly done it looks like my hair was chopped unevenly. There is no way to style it--no matter what I do, it looks bad. I left feeling embarrassed, defeated, and honestly heartbroken. Spending nearly six hours in the salon only to walk out feeling like I look worse than when I came in is something I wouldn't wish on anyone. The blowout showed a complete lack of skill, and the haircut has no shape, no balance, and no intention. It feels like no care was taken at all. To make matters worse, the manager at this location was unable to provide a real solution. While they did zero out my bill, they were not willing or able to fix the damage. I was forced to go to another Ulta location just to get a temporary "band-aid" fix so my hair wouldn't be orange anymore. Even after that, I'm still left with no real haircut, hair that's extremely difficult to manage, and a result I'm deeply unhappy with. This experience affected me far beyond just a bad salon visit. My hair is part of who I am, and right now I don't feel like myself at all. I truly hope Ulta takes situations like this more seriously, because no client should leave feeling this upset, after investing so much time, trust, and emotional energy. read more

I don't know why I continuously wasted time coming to this store. Each time I think their customer service will change but it does not. I have come here quite honestly over 8 different occasions and time after time I am ignored. I came once after teaching a fitness class in a sweat and was not greeted and thought okay maybe they think I'm someone not worthy of service, I'll come back when I'm more "presentable". Stopped back a month or two later after coming from lunch with a dress and wedges and still nothing. Keep in mind, if my existence isn't acknowledged, I refuse to buy from any store. I never bought anything and made it a point to continue buying nothing until someone that works here gave me the time of day. Today I walked in with athletic wear and a small group of associates were at the registers talking about work-related things. I was not greeted and walked over to a section searching for a specific item. I found a woman helping another guest and asked her if she could page or ask her colleague s to help me find an item. She said she could help herself but when I proceeded to ask her questions about the item, she had no idea what I was talking about. She finally asked if one of the associates could come help and did they come....no! I walked out. This is why brick and mortar stores like these will go out of business and mail services like Amazon will prevail. read more

Today I went to see Nex, The make up artist for Lancôme. I was looking for a foundation that better match my skin, primer and a new eyeliner. From the moment I sat down I knew I was in great hands. He was so genuine, and we chatted the whole time. When I finally saw the finished product after he did his magic applying the makeup, I lost ally almost cried. I was in shock of how great I looked!! He works MAGIC!! I absolutely love this Ulta. The managers, and all the associates are always so helpful, and so nice. Each time I have come to this Ulta, sadly I have been disappointed. It's a newer store in a shopping center with Whole Foods & Home Goods so you can knock out a few stops at once for beauty, food and home decor. The store is quite small, much less inventory than others I have shopped at and tends to be ransacked. It does not carry prestige brands such as Lancôme or Dior. My most recent visit, they explained that they do not have a Benefit brow bar expert and are currently looking to hire. That was basically last straw for me for this location, I will not be returning. read more

I came in yesterday for a haircut and full root touch up. I paid $75 for a signature haircut with Jasmine. The cut was not bad but the blow dry was not done well at all. It was the most expensive and worst blow dry I have ever gotten. Jasmine also had a bad attitude also. I did not like her work or her customer service. I got my full root touch up done by Denise and she did an amazing job. She was also very nice. I paid an additional $60 for the root touch up. read more

Of all the Ulta's- this store is my favorite! All of the staff are wonderful. They are very helpful if you have questions or are in search of something, also very cool if you're just browsing for fun (soo much fun!)... which of course is encouraged;) One of their staff in particular, named Bridgette, is absolutely amazing. She is warm and friendly, professional, highly knowledgeable and genuinely kindhearted. Every time I come to the store Bridgette remembers me, and makes time to help me even though I know she's busy. WOW! I think this is my favorite Ulta now. This Ulta has great parking (something that another store lacks and it makes me nuts). HUGE store with a great selection of the brands that I love. Very nicely laid out and everything is easy to find. This new store is beautiful. Everything is so clean and pretty and the employees were kind and helpful. I had a great experience at the Benefit Brow Bar with Tiffany. She was so kind and helpful. Getting my brows looking awesome. She offered me products she thought I might like and tired to get me the biggest bang for my buck. My reason for the three star review is the lack of brands that they carry. I was so disappointed to find out that they don't carry three of my favorite brands in their store, Josie Maran, Milk and Eyeko. They carry two of them online but not in the store. I love going to stores like these so I can try all the products on my face to see how they look and feel on. Hopefully they will expand the line of what they carry in stores soon. For now I'll stick with Sephora for all my in store beauty needs. read more

Whenever my friends from Hollywood, Florida come to visit they ask to go to this Ulta specifically !! I had an unfortunate and unnecessary encounter at Ulta in pompano beach this morning. The problem was how I was treated not getting what I wanted. I went to exchange a devacurl product for another. I didn't have a receipt​ but I have an account where my purchase was recorded. I went to the counter with my return and the product I wanted. First I found out the had my email wrong that is why I couldn't log into my account​ at home. She couldn't change it but said she would at the end. She was friendly and fine until she picked up the product I was returning. She looked in an said she didn't know if she could return it because it was more than half gone. I didn't see anything about product amount in their policy. It there was about a third of the product left. If that was their policy that would be fine but it was how she acted. She literally backed away from me, like she didn't want to deal with me and said I'll have the manager deal with this. She got very uncomfortable​ which made me feel like crap standing there. The manager came up didn't look at me or acknowledge me as a person and said to the clerk no I can't take this back. Then I asked if the could fix my email so I could access my account. Again the manager said nothing to me punched some number and walked away. The clerk asked me for my phone number again punched some keys and AGAIN could not change my email. I got frustrated, said never mind and walked out. I have worked in customer service for over 10 years, Ulta this is how I should have been treated so I wouldn't have been embarrassed​ and make to feel like crap. 1) post the policy on how much product needs to be left to return (this information was posted nowhere). 2) When the clerk wanted the manager to look at the product said, you know I am not sure I can take this back would be mind waiting a minute for my manager to look, continue to be pleasant and friendly. Don't back away from the customer​ like they have a disease. 3) Manager, say hello to the customer (me) and acknowledge I exist. Politely tell me you could not take the product back because there was less than 50%, stay and make sure my email was corrected. I will not be returning to this store although it down the street from​ me. I will go to theFort​t Lauderdale​ store. I have been there several times and the staff was much better trained and friendly and professional. read more

Overcrowded upon entering the store, being handed a product I wasn't even interested in buying while being talked to death as if I was dirty and could not select my own product. Being the only customers of color, not to mention me and my mother were almost constantly followed, it was a very uncomfortable shopping experience. I was also reminded of the time every 2 minutes on the dot as if I wasn't aware. None of the other customers in the store were being handled in the same manner. Side note, my mother was a national makeup artist for many of the brands sold inside this store and knows the protocol. Surprise to see to this kind of behavior especially in south Florida and during a time when businesses in need and costumers like myself are ready, willing, and able to spend some serious cash. I would never come back to this Ulta location and not recommend this specific location to anybody else. We made sure to grab absolutely what we needed and left. read more

I am not a big fan of Ulta. I came here because of the new location the 1st time I came here was great all the employees were really helpful and nice and gave me great advice. The store was clean everything was an order. The following week I was running some errands since I had such a good experience the week before I said oh let me just stop by see what is new . (Makeup junkie here). This is my reason on 3 stars again the store was clean shelves well stocked most of the employees were helpful. The attitude of this woman named Beth deserves one star what a witch! She was so nasty and rude. Over the ear piece she was yelling at an employee I am sure there is a time and place for everything . All this while she got on a register she seemed very annoyed and angry . The cashier next to her had the line under control and even the cashier next to her raised her eyes when she was being so rude to whomever she was talking to on the earpiece. Not a hello , did you find everything , nothing . I had a bunch of stuff including some nyx stuff I happen to look up and notice a HUGE sign certain amount of $ nyx items and you get something free . I said hey does that apply to my order . Rolled her eyes and said we don't have that anymore shoved everything in my bag and basically told me bye! She could have said something else. Over All Beth does not need to helping customers if she doesn't have the right attitude its like an infection she will spread to the rest of the staff. I usually shop at the Deerfield Beach Ulta, but they did not have an item in stock that I wanted so I went to the Pompano Beach Ulta, store # 1358. I had a very bad experience with the store manager and the clerk that checked me out. Both were very passive aggressive and overall had a bad attitude. I was returning a lipstick and did not have the packaging, the manager first told me the lipstick was part of a set and I could not return it by itself. I told her this was not part of a set and that I had purchased it individually. She then said she didn't have that item in the store and could not find the SKU and could not return it. At this point she had NOT looked to see if the item was available. I offered to go look for it, and she decided to go look for the item after I volunteered. She came back a few minutes later and said she had found the item and proceeded to issue the refund. I NEVER had a problem returning anything to Ulta until I came to this store. The manager was harsh in her demeanor, did not smile or seem friendly towards me but appeared to be upset. The manager's name is Beth. Before I checked out I witnessed her mistreating other customers who were trying to purchase some items with a coupon, she called them thieves and snatched the items they had picked up from them. She told them they were not going to purchase anything and told them to leave the store. The manager-Beth- is very unprofessional and appeared to be on edge or like she was having a bad day and was taking it out on the customers. Needless to say I will NOT EVER come back to this store, where the employees are mean to customers. read more

Basically if you have something specific you need, don't come here because they will most likely NOT have it in stock. This is by far the worst Ulta I have ever been in. If you don't have what I need once or twice, I understand. But I have never been able to even spend any money in this store because of lack of product.
