On Saturday, I went in because there was an in store promotion on a paradox perfume. I took the perfume up to the front cashier, which was Asher advised her that this perfume was 40% off and what was quite embarrassing was that she tried to make a lie out of me and not only that, when I asked her could I use my $20 in points that I had, she told me that coupons can't typically be used on fragrances, which I know to be untrue because I have been shopping at this Ulta since it has opened. I am totally unsatisfied with the treatment that I received with going in, and retrieving and an on sale product, which had a tag that said that it was on sale. The service at this store has taken a tumble. I've spent a small fortune over the years on my girls and in the past the folks have always been helpful and very nice. Over the past couple of years that's changed. The kicker tonight was watching the interaction that the tall blonde had with a young lady and they were very rude to her. I went to the salon today, and I walked in with beautiful red hair, wanting to go blonde. Knowing it will take a couple sessions, once Bree (the stylist) started stripping the color I saw how pink it was and told her I would leave there with the pink it was as long as we could get everything g else ready for my next session. She moved very slow and I was paying hourly, she not once asked if I like it. Charged me $320( and I have never paid that much for my hair ever, and I will gladly pay that for what I want done) and my hair is pink and orange(coppery) it is so ugly. I got in my car and cried. I usually love Ulta but I visited today with my significant other to do some cologne browsing to surprise him on Valentine's Day and It was a terrible experience. We were followed throughout the store. The older white woman asked us once if we needed help I informed her I was looking for his present and the following did not stop. Today I go into Ulta hoping to use my gift cards received from Christmas. Everything was fine until I get up to the register and I'm met with Vundia (got from receipt). I had quite a few items all in a basket. Set the basket on the counter and it's pushed back to me with her saying "I'm not going through all that, you can put it on the counter". My apologies for not knowing it didn't fit through the dividers. Then as I take it all out Vundia and her other cashier start talking about how I didn't push the items up far enough, making it hard for them to reach. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME "It's not that hard like push it up damn" I apologize as I didn't realize. Then comes payment. I was told I could only do 2 gift cards or my account would lock up. They all went through no problem. I understand holidays are stressful. I work in retail as well but being rude right to the customers face is so disrespectful. And for what, absolutely nothing. I rather enjoy Ulta. Growing up as a tomboy, i've come to be a beauty junky and can spend a lot of time just walking about the store and reading labels. Unfortunately, I often hear the employees standing around and hiding down some of the isles gossiping about customers and other employees with a lot of "OH MY GODs." Thats SO not the time or place for that behavior. It wouldn't be such a big deal, except for the fact that they seem startled and sometimes a little annoyed when I interrupt and ask them a question about a product. Also, They don't take requests. I bought the last one on the shelf of my favorite face scrub over 6 months ago, and I can't ask them to restock it, because according to them, they don't choose what the company sends them. That is rather unfortunate because I'd prefer getting it directly from the store than having to pay a shipping fee and have it delivered to my home. This isn't enough to prevent me from shopping there since our Sephora isn't a full sized one since it is inside of the JCPenny's next door, and doesn't carry as much a variety as Ulta. read more

Okay, so strolling along this strip mall, I see in the windowfront that they actually also carry men's cologne. Killing time and having already massacred a few minutes here and there, I figured why not waltz right into this place and slay a few more. I approached the Polo cologne section and much to my delight, I see they sell the old school stuff in the green bottle that I used to bathe in, to attract all the ladies (and I did) when I was in 8th grade. I will have to be back some other time to pick up a bottle here, but I was disappointed that they had no testers for that fragrance out and open, so I just doused, and I mean, to the point of being offensive, myself in some other Polo cologne that looked 'spensive...all the while, my baby girl is in the stroller looking at me like I've lost my mind. Yeah, Daddy was in a store with the word Beauty Salon in it, on his own accord, I guess. But you know...when you look as good as this (I'm pointing at myself now) there's really not much else you need to do...which reminds me, I am also disappointed that this store doesn't carry Sex Panther cologne from the movie Anchorman...Seriously! I I placed an online order and setup store pickup. I had my son on the order for pickup. He went on his lunch break to pickup the order. He presented my I'd and he stated the associate scanned it and gave him the item. When he took a picture of the item i said ohh they gave you a gift in which he said gift...this is your order!!! I called him speaking in code language cause by that time my daughter was around me. I sent him pictures of the eight items i ordered. He had to turn around and drive back up there because the made a mistake. At that time an associate called my phone to tell me they gave me the wrong order and need me to bring it back. My plan was ruined because my daughter heard everything. I was livid. When my son arrived at the store then then proceeded to hand him 3/8 items but luckily he had the photos I sent.i called to speak with the manager coincidentally heard them speaking my name in the background. I will not return to Ulta because I let it slide but about 3 years ago they never sent me a lip pencil I ordered not did they credit my account. I'm rating the salon. I went here in Oct '14 and got my haircut done by DeeJay and loved it! So it gave me full confidence that Ulta, hired the best when it came to stylist. Well, I decided I wanted the Kerastraight smoothing treatment and I was in the process of moving, which would be 3 1/2 hours out of Shreveport but I was in town and finishing up with moving and decided, since I had a good experience at Ulta last time that it was the best place to get this done. Well, Deejay is very popular and he wasn't available and I wasn't sure who to pick, so I did the mistake of picking "Anybody" when scheduling the appointment online, which I figure for 162 dollar hair treatment, they would picked someone who was very familiar with the procedure....no, picking "Anybody", means you get the new guy/gal who doesn't have a lot of clients yet. Which is fine because I am sure, most of the new staff have experience at other salons and are qualified and they need to build up their clientele....but I'm not sure letting them do a 162 dollar hair treatment is best. At least have them be supervised by someone who is familiar with it until they are comfortable with it. I noticed in the middle of the treatment she was reading directions and then every time I had a question, she had to go to the back and ask someone. It was soft and pretty when I left but very flat and I thought, maybe that was because she had to flat iron it a lot to lock in the treatment. I waited a couple days to wash it and after I washed it with sulfate free shampoo and conditioner, it is still is flat and feels oily...I think maybe she used too much product or left it in too long, I'm not sure. I knew if I called and complain, the only thing they could do was offer to fix it but the 3 1/2 hour drive to S'port isn't worth it. My hair isn't frizzing up at least...but not sure if it being flat and oily...is any better. :/ The need to make profiles for each stylist there and list their qualification and maybe a rating. Let the newbies be a little cheaper until they worked there a few months. Something...I went to a local salon to see if they saw what I was seeing with my hair and they were shocked because the layers were uneven and the texture of my hair was not what my hair was suppose to be after that treatment, they were nice enough to even it out for free and hopefully when I go back and get a deep conditioning treatment, it'll help it a bit. I won't name the stylist who did the kerastraight treatment because I know a lot of it was my fault. I should have asked if she had ever done it, probably called her directly after the fact, or something...and a lot is ULTA...should make sure that people are certified or trained well for their more expensive treatments....162 dollars is a lot to have anybody doing it. read more

I made an appointment at the salon today for an eyebrow wax. I showed up just a couple minutes early and everyone was confused about how i had an appointment today. Jessica was super helpful in trying to figure things out for me but the lady in the salon definitely was NOT! She immediately told me that they Were booked up for the day, even after i told her that i had already made an appointment earlier in the day. When she finally sorted things out, she asked me to sit and wait for the stylist who would be ready in a few seconds for me. Ummm... NO! She was coloring someone's hair! That was no where near a few seconds. So i waited 20-25 minutes after my scheduled appointment time and still nothing. She didn't even offer another time or to do them herself.
