I've been an Ulta customer and have had a shoppers account with them since 2010. I have shopped with them in four states and online. Each time I visit this location, I walk out thinking, "Wow, this location has awful customer service." I finally decided to Yelp about it after feeling that way for the third time. Whether I was picking up an online order or stopping in for something I've seen on the app, I have felt as though my business isn't appreciated. I have felt rushed and have been made to feel as if I am wrong for asking for prices and sales advertised. On this trip, the guy greeted warmly, but the minute I asked him a question, he basically brushed me off and acted as though I was a bother. I love the brand so much that I won't allow my experiences here to refrain me from being a customer. However, I won't return to this location. read more

After shopping for an hour just days before Christmas (mostly because prices aren't visible on products and even the salesperson had to get help....so frustrating!). Then I get home and I'm missing an item. Go back to the store and get totally embarrassed and humiliated as the "manager" goes back and forth with me insisting I received everything and walks off dismissing me without offering any resolution. I knew it would be a problem because the Telegraph store is in a predominantly Black community with many items being under lock and key which is another reason I was in the store so long. Ulta Beauty just like most corporate stores place little or no value on customer service especially in Black communities. I had spent over $400 on the Ulta credit card I had recently received in the mail; $136 on the item I didn't receive. I had bought skin care , beauty and fragrance products for my granddaughter and nieces. I will ABSOLUTELY be returning them all AND closing the card. I will never recommend or shop at this store again!!!!! My advice to cooperate change your environment....stop degrading your customers and assuming ALL Black people lie and steal!!! read more

Cheers for an Ulta in Southfield! This Ulta location opened recently in Southfield conveniently located on Telegraph and 12 Mile. I love that there is ample parking at this location. Now to the store, this Ulta is definitely very impressive; I mean it's new, it's bright inside, the layout is gorg, and it's NEW! I've been in quite a few Ulta Stores, and I have to say that Southfield's store layout was well thought out, please see my pics below. I've been to this Ulta twice, and they have a mix of your drug store beauty brands, Elf, NYX, Neutrogena, L'Oreal, and prestige brands, Estee, Becca, Cover FX, Clinique. Unfortunately this Ulta does not carry the cult fav MAC, but they do, however, carry Makeup Revolution and Morphe. Additionally, they have a few other hidden gems and of course, Skin & Hair Care favs and the Benefit Brow Bar. I want to try their hair services and skin bar one of these days. Both times that I have been in the store, the Ulta Team Members were super friendly and helpful. Customer Service was 5-Stars Alone. The Ulta is an excellent addition to the Tel-Twelve Strip of Stores. I literally can get all if not most of my beauty needs from Ulta. Their points program makes it easy to earn rewards. I've been rocking with Ulta since 06,' and I'm super excited to see the Southfield Store Flourish. I can tell that I'm really going to like the New New Southfield Location! read more

Please hire some people that want to work and not socialize! Nicholas and his co-worker/friend did not bother to acknowledge me as I walked up to the register. Initially the young black female employee darn near knocked me over as I walked toward the back of the store (didn't speak or greet me!) Nicholas was so into his conversation with the same young employee as he rang up my merchandise. Just pathetic, but then again Southfield is getting to be so a sub-par place to shop! It's always one extreme or the other EVERYtime I walk into an Ulta store...either I get followed around and asked if I need help 12X or get totally ignored. Ulta do better!!! I came in their last week. It was an amazing experience. Much better than any of the other locations I have been in. I spoke with a young lady about my hair (I will not say who bc maybe we didn't click.). We discussed my hair and I ask if she could do a curly cut. Not cut curly hair. She didn't do that kind of cut. Normal straight cut, could have gone to Master Cuts. Gotten a cut, and high lights or dyed for what I paid $55 for at Ulta. What made it so bad, which I didn't know until getting my bill was that she found my questions offensive, stereotypical, and none of my business. I apologized. Gave her a tip and walked away. When I paid the bill I realized the tip wasn't big enough. I went and all of my cash was gone. I had lost it in the store. I felt bad that I didn't giver her enough, eventhough she scolded, make that a yelled at me. I was so upset by her I dropped the money there bc I didn't open my purse anywhere else but the register and that's when I found it missing. I returned to find out which products she used. She wouldn't come out. The manager, I guess, she didn't give me her name. She mentioned what the stylist said, lost in translation, bc that is not what I said. She said they don't talk personal things and if I did it again then I will ask me to leave. I reply that she didn't have to answer any of my chitchat questions. She could have told me when I asked about her 4 name name. That she didn't speak her personal business . That's when the lady got real angry and asked me to leave. And again. I wish I could put 0 stars. The lady that works Saturday mornings with braids. She was extremely rude. Whoever reached her about customer service needs to be fired! My sister was shopping for pimple patches and looking for suggestions. The employee says " yea get the 90 pack because it looks like you need them". A customer should never be treated this way! Wow! This location hasn't been open for very long and already looks like trash inside, not to mention...out of a lot of products. One of the associates had the audacity to reach over my daughter and I as we were looking at a display! Staff were incredibly rude and impatient. When I asked for a certain product she waved towards an aisle & when I told her I couldn't find it I got an eye roll. She walked me over and it ended up being 3 aisles down from where she first sent me, she asked which product I needed and essentially threw it into my hands. Cashier seemed to be in a grumpy mood as well. Overall not a good experience! read more

I had a facial product that was given to me and It was not the right color. Kam the store manager would not allow me to exchange it and was very rude. He stood with his arms crossed refusing to provide any customer service or further contact information. He told me to look it up myself. The product cost less then $15 and could have been exchanged. He got smart and told me I could buy something else and keep the product I wanted to exchange. They will never getmy business again. Not one dime. This is the best Ulta I've been to. As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted with open arms! It's a full family at that location, everyone helps you or speaks to you at least once. If one person doesn't have the answer they're honest and get help from their peer. I really appreciate that and even say certain products were bad. I had the best experience at Ulta yesterday! I met the loveliest of loves who helped me find exactly what I was looking for. This person's name was Ethan and my spirit sibling! I had a picture and showed it to Ethan and we found the exact match for my lipstick, liner and gloss. We also found a perfect pallet of eyeshadow to match the picture and I'm looking forward to using all the products. It was the first time I had been to an Ulta and got the personal attention I had been craving. read more

The last few times i was there, i felt like i was closely watched by the associates. I think they thought I was to steal something. Probably the way i looked. Im usually not comfortable shopping for perfumes, as they seemed to be put off by me, maybe i couldn't understand or hear ( i wear earbuds under my hijab), or im looking at perfumes too long (im not good decision maker, couldnt spray perfumes too much). If i couldn't pay for my purchase, i wouldn't go out shopping. I didn't see too much of the higher priced items i was hoping to purchase. Convenient location and helpful staff. One of the team members greeted me as soon as I walked in and showed walked me to where the product was that I was looking for. The store was clean and service was quick. Will definitely go there again when in the area. read more
