I had a very unfortunate interaction with the owner. I had a less than satisfactory experience with one of the massage therapists, it was a very strange massage and was unlike anything I had previously experienced there. First the essential oils placed under my face gave me quite a migraine. I have a herniated disc in my neck which I acknowledge that sometimes that could be an issue but for me this has never been a problem during massages. For some reason she placed several, and I mean several, hot towels on my neck which was immediately pretty painful as this was heavy to be placed with heat on a herniated disc, no matter how healed. Then she quite literally covered me in lotion, like a ridiculous amount where I couldn't even get dressed, barely touched me and ran out of the room, almost before I could even ask her for a towel (I was literally drenched in lotion) and before the session was supposed to be over. So I was left in more pain plus a migraine with a shortened session and covered in lotion, and I did notice that she didn't greet me afterwards to offer me water and make sure I'm doing good like they usually do here. This was all very strange and bizarre, but I assumed maybe this had to do with inexperience and wanted to leave feedback as to why this wasn't the best experience, especially since this is a luxury service that wasn't cheap. The owner called me the next day, and she was genuinely one of the most hostile and unpleasant people I had ever talked to. I am not a confrontational person, and I do think I was being reasonable in leaving feedback. She called me and told me that there is absolutely no way that any of this happened, and that she "welcomes me to not return". I told her that this was unfortunate to hear because I had such positive experiences in the past there, to which she told me I didn't go there enough times to have that much of an opinion. She kept telling me that I am more than welcome to not return, and at this point I wasn't going to but I just wanted her to tell me directly that she was banning me from returning for having a negative experience. She was avoiding saying explicitly that I could not return, but she kept insisting I was welcome to go elsewhere. I told her I would probably leave a review of the situation, to which she said "well that's not very nice of you". I told her it's not very nice to ban me for expressing concerns with my session. She hung up the phone abruptly, and the next day another staff member called and offered to reschedule me with someone else. I politely declined. I also want to mention that the ramp to get in the door is extremely inaccessible, I am a wheelchair user and it's borderline hazardous the way it is oriented. If I am to open the door, I have to be on the ramp which is difficult, or the door will push me down the stairs. If you use a mobility aid or have chronic pain I would not recommend, not because of the staff but 100% because of the owner. read more

I was asked to arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. I got there and the paperwork took me 1 minute. It should be electronic (not paper) so I can fill it out ahead of time. I had a 1-hour deep tissue massage with Megan W. When she brought me back to the room, she reiterated what I had written down on the intake form. My goal was to get the knots out from my shoulders, back, and calves. After about 10-15 minutes, Megan asked me about the pressure. I said she could go firmer but I didn't notice a difference. I was hoping she'd get the knots out but the massage was relaxing. Shes also very professional. Before my appointment, I received 1 phone reminder and 3 text messages (before I typed STOP because I didn't need another reminder). read more

Came here for a couples massage for my husband's birthday after looking up good rated massage places near us. I am so glad that I did, this place was great. We were about 5 minutes late and they didn't even blink an eye, so kind! Zeta was my massuse and was very tuned into my needs. I've only ever had one massage before and it was too rough for me so i asked for between light and moderate pressure and Zeta did just right. I was so relaxed and everything was nice and comfortable. The room we were in was softly lit and the gentle music was not overwhelming. Deborah massaged my husband and he says her hands were soft and got his pressure needs just right. My wife and I have now been coming to New Body Therapeutics for massages for almost a year and absolutely love this place! After moving to the area, we were searching for a spa/massage therapist primarily for my wife. I had a handful of massages in the past on cruises, at resorts, and at chain spas but only a couple left me feeling good enough to want to go back. The location is an older, attractive Northville home that has plenty of character. Once you walk inside the music and smells appeal to your senses and allow you to feel relaxed and comfortable. There are various Himalayan salt rocks throughout that add to the ambiance. The massage rooms are located on each level of the building, and each one we've been in has been comfortable and has been set-up to provide an environment where you can relax and enjoy the benefits of the massage. For every one of our visits my Message Therapist has been Melissa Sherry, and my wife's Massage Therapist has been Christine. I can say without hesitation that Melissa is the best MT I have ever had, and my wife has said the same thing about Christine. Before each session, Melissa takes the time to ask how I'm doing and wants to know of any issues that I've been having or areas that she needs to focus on so that the session can be most beneficial to me. As a result, based on my needs, Melissa has incorporated different techniques/moves, and essential oils, which increases the benefits of the massage. Melissa also takes the time to make sure the massage table and room are both comfortable for me. I tend to be warm so I like the room and table on the cooler side, and Melissa has always accommodated my preferences. Additionally, the music that is played in the rooms is kept at a level that is relaxing and lends itself to an enjoyable experience. Lastly, after each session, Melissa provides a cup of water and takes the time to speak with me after each session to see how I'm feeling, and to see if there are any other issues. The estheticians are knowledge and I always walk out feeling super satisfied with the results. The products are organic plant/fruit based and they actually work!! Wow! Such a relaxing massage by Zeta! It's my first time at this location and I just set up another massage appointment in a month with Zeta! The reviews do not lie. My appointment was on time and started right away. I added peppermint oil to my massage ($5), I also suggested to put some oil on the head rest - my favorite part is breathing it in and relaxing right before the massage starts. I talked to Zeta about my concerns (back/shoulders/neck) as I have a desk job and she focused mainly on that. It was a full body swedish massage with moderate pressure, but my favorite is the upper body...and the arm massage was great too! This is such a great place! I made an appointment for several pain issues I'd been having; work related pain and damage from 18+ years of dancing. Heather was my therapist, and she was absolutely fantastic! After briefly explaining exactly where my pain was, she knew exactly what to do. She was attentive to all of my needs and remained that way throughout my entire session. If you enjoy old houses that have been turned into cute businesses, then this is the place for you! It took me a long time to find a good therapist when moving back to Michigan from out of state. My masseuse was very friendly and did whatever I asked for to help with my knots along my body. She even had no problem massaging my glutes area.
