Pamela is an amazing masseuse! She came to my house when I was pregnant with my daughter and it has to be one of the best massages I've ever received. Pamela is a true professional. She arrived on time, set up quickly and it was a great experience. I had never had anyone come to my house to give me a massage, but it was great. I like a deep massage and she definitely checks in periodically to see how you're feeling during the message. I was sorry to see Pamela leave Los Angeles but am happy she is thriving in another city. Pamela Pettway at Spa Lyfe is a con artist, unprofessional, and completely sadistic in the way she gives a massage. She will try to pressure you into buying additional packages, and even if you ask for a refund the same day and cancel your appointment she will refuse to refund you. She has a NO REFUND policy hidden in a FAQ page on her website so you can't see it. There is no sign posted at checkout. During the massage, she grated her thumb into the stop of my skull until I had to scream "OW!" to get her to stop. My head still hurts 5 days later. I also have pain in my shoulder from her shoddy techniques. She also kept pressing her thumb into my spine which was extremely uncomfortable and made me worried she would snap my spinal chord. She is rude and will bend you every which way without asking if it is comfortable. If you want to feel like you are getting a massage from a bull wrestling rodeo clown in an unfinished construction site come here. read more

Don't know about weight loss, but people literally said I looked skinner after the fit wrap! Maybe because I lost so much sweat... It definitely did work for my chronic back pain though. Infrared therapy is legit, because my elderly dog used to get it for his arthritis. :) read more

Had a great experience with Candace doing my lashes! My first set I wore for a fashion show and they persevered through all the makeup and the removal that happened like three times the next day. After that show, they still hung on for another 5 weeks. By then, I had worn them ragged and I thought that the only option would be to get them removed. But Candace didn't give up. When she did my fill-in they looked brand spanking new and lasted for 2 months that time. I would definitely go back, loved the look and the entire atmosphere was really relaxing. Candace is also great to talk to and is quick yet completely skilled. Don't forget to tip her well ladies! She deserves it! read more

She has good smelling lotion and I did not leave feeling overly greasy. It took me a minute to figure out where her shop was in the building. This is a joke of a "spa" and Pamela Pettway is the rudest and most unprofessional character I have ever encountered in the industry. For starters, they don't answer the phone. EVER. So you'd better have no questions! And in order to schedule an appt. online (the ONLY way to schedule anything) you HAVE to give your credit card number. In spite of my better judgment, I scheduled appts. for 2 IPL photofacials. When I came for the first, Pamela barely looked at me across the counter to find me ineligible for this service and proceed to try to sell me a more expensive one. She called this "a consultation"... Do yourself a favor and avoid this scam. Beware of the NO REFUND, expiration of packages, and late/no show/cancellation policies. Went for a massage through Groupon because I heard she does good deep pressure. As an athlete this is a must. PROS: -She delivered on deep pressure! Very effective stretches too. -She is a nice person and is responsive. CONS. -Spa experience is really lacking. Very distracting elements. I can tolerate Christian music (I am not religious myself) but she would sing intermittently. I feel like sing the whole time at a low tempo or dont sing at all. It was again, distracting. -Another problem with a fluid "flow" is that she would do a few strokes and then take like half a minute to get lotion. I realize the lotion is in a jar but there are other lotions you can get that pump and you can keep it close by. The constant "stop and go" pressure was again something that I noticed. -Issues with symmetry and consistency. You might spend a bit longer on one side if its more tight, but she would completely forget what she did to one side and would do something completely to the other. - The massage ended 15 minutes early. My boyfriend also tried the massage through Groupon (we are big massage people). And his was 10 minutes late. She left the room while he was changing and didn't return for a really long time. -Then she was upselling me while I was still on the table. Not a great time. Wait till I am clothed to tell me about the specials. I wouldn't say the massage was unprofessional, because everyone has their own culture and their own style which I enjoy. However, you have to keep to some massage conventions like a spa experience that is best suited for relaxation. ie, relaxing music & a fluid experience. If she addresses the major issues with flow, I might come back. Damn, I am bummed because I was looking for a new masseuse. I go regularly elsewhere and I will stick with them for now. read more

TERRIBLE customer service and unproffesional owner. I had bought a service yesterday ahead of time before I even got it done and wasn't told about their "refund policy" before buying so when I changed my mind because of their difficult scheduling and terrible reviews I just didn't even want to get a service done anymore so she tells me I can't get a refund. I didn't even get this service done I just payed an invoice so I found that weird so I was confused on why she couldn't just refund me. I went up there and I let her know that she did not let me know about her refund policy on the phone when she was talking about the service and her response was she didn't have to and how Kroger's doesn't either but funny thing is they actually have it listed where you are purchasing...She also stated that basically I have to look for it on her website under the frequently asked questions when I didn't even pay on the website which makes no sense it should've been posted with the invoice that was sent to my EMAIL and made clear, I wasn't directed to the website to pay but apparently I'm just supposed to know to go look through the frequently asked questions for the refund policy. Any PROFESSIONAL place wouldn't let this happen and if anything they would make an exception to make the customer happy but they LACK in customer service skills. read more

I went to get a massage because my sister gave me the groupon special and thought it would be good since the reviews were so good, for the most part. I got there. It was hard to find because she is no longer in studio 3 and signs a minimal from the outside. I have to say that this is the most unusual professional massage I have ever received. I think if I laid on the floor of my room, put some Christian music on in the background, and had my husband rub my back in the same circular motion on my whole back, I could have saved my sister some money. First of all,because the space is just big enough for a massage table and some cabinets, I thought that perhaps the lack of professionalism in their display might reflect on the cleanliness so I kept my underclothing on. I suggest you do the same. The pics that they have on here is of the whole floor. Not the unit the Spalyfe occupies. I think it's best to spend a bit more and look elsewhere. Not professional. I made an appointment at SpaLyfe after buying the groupon, not really knowing what to expect. Although there were parts of the massage that were really wonderful, there were a quite a few parts that were painful and unpleasant (and yes, I was vocal about my discomfort). SpaLyfe may be better suited for individuals looking for an intense/athletic massage rather than individuals expecting a relaxing peaceful experience. I've had massages at many high-end spas, as well as from physical therapists, and none of these were exactly painful. read more

Pamela is the best massage therapist I have ever had. She is great for pre and post natal. My husband and I have had her work with us for years. I feel she is a healer - not just making you feel good for the moment, but working on actually getting solutions to your deep leftover tensions that need healing. No massage is the same as the next - she's really trying to address you on that day in that particular collection of tensions. She is so professional and disarming I also had her massage my mother when she was in town and that is no small feat to find someone she'd be comfortable. In short, Pamela is a gem. I'm an athlete with tough muscles that require strong hands and I've had the best massage of my life from this talented woman. I wish I could give zero stars. The esthetician was late and apologized in a sarcastic manner. I had tried calling and emailing during my wait time. The lady next door told me they are always late. Her manager told me to leave if I was frustrated. I had bought a Groupon so I wanted to use it so I never had to go back. It was so bizarre. I went ahead with the treatment. Don't know anyone who does it better than Pam! I Have always been into skincare and would always schedule facials around looking for the right esthetician. Once I found Pam I didn't look any further. Pam does the most amazing extractions and never fails to leave my face looking sparkly clean and hydrated. Absolutely horrible experience. Incredibly rude owner. My husband purchased a COUPLES spa package from Groupon. Called to schedule and was told, "we only schedule online. Bye." I looked online for the package and couldn't find it, so I called back. She said, "it's there, you're just not looking hard enough. It's called like mini spa day or something." She didn't even know the name of her own service. Showed up for our appointment (for which the owner was 10 minutes late) and she told us they don't offer a couples package; Groupon screwed up. So I said I'd called twice to ask how to schedule and she immediately snapped at me with, "woah, calm down. Just calm down. Do you want a good service today? Because the way you're acting you're not going that direction." We started to walk out and she slammed the door open while muttering, "good, I don't need your kind of business." I had some very bad acne a few months before my wedding and she helped me get rid of it with two salicylic acid peels, two Bio Elements facials, and several sessions under the Celluma LED light. June 15,2017 - Groupon savings coupon for 2 - 40 minute foot massage treatments at Spa Lyfe located in the Salon Studio in Ann Arbor. What a frustrating experience. You can only schedule an appointment on line so if you are unable to access their site you are 100% out of luck. We had that experience, went over in person, met the owner and explained the situation. Sorry you must schedule on line - she would not do it for us and treated us like we were actually stupid to bother her with such matters. She did assure us however not to worry that as long as we could schedule on line before the expiration date the coupon would be honored and that she always answers her e-mails and phone messages so any problems we conveyed by leaving her messages must have been our fault. Ok we will try again. Same problems and a number of phone messages, e-mails etc. and like before no response. Coupon expires and guess what - Groupon won't give credit after 3 days if it expires. After more hassle we finally get a call but the person representing Spa Lyfe can't help, just go on line and schedule an appointment, she would not listen. Now we just don't care, the fun and anticipation is gone, after all who really wants to do business with a company that obviously does not care, besides think about what kind of service we would get after complaining so much anyhow. My review got deleted, so trying again. I bought a massage on Amazon local. I probably waited too long, but still had over 3 weeks left. Thought surely I could get a massage scheduled in 3 weeks - not. I asked for mornings and got a confirmation e-mail for 2:45 PM. Tuesday I asked for an earlier appointment. Friday I asked again and got a date and time of 5:30 PM. I said late afternoons and early evenings didn't work and listed more times I was free. She said great and asked me what time!? I asked for mornings. Again. This was the next Tuesday. Wednesday I got a confirmation for Thursday afternoon. ARGH. E-mailed again Wednesday saying I was still hoping for a morning/early afternoon time. 4 days later I got an e-mail saying "I'm afraid I don't". That is word for word. 13 days to get that response.
