My associate was Sabastiana, and she was an absolute doll! She went out of her way to accommodate me and introduced me to some of the other amazing Ulta associates as well. She even convinced me to come back for Benefit Brow Bar services, and I already know who I will be seeing! I work five minutes from this location so this will be my home Ulta. I'm so happy I came here because the associates at this Ulta were super nice and helpful. They weren't snobbish at all like the associates at the Chesapeake/Greenbrier location, where I'll never shop again due to the rude customer service. I had accidentally grabbed the wrong brand of a mascara thinking it was BOGO, at the register the worker (I believe her name was basciana??). I asked why they did not come up as BOGO and she responded very rudely and laughed saying "who would've told you that" and I explained that it was a promotion and last year during the same promotion I bought the same brand and kind of mascara so I had assumed that it was the same this year. And she responded with "okay and it's 2026". I was very appreciative of the service from the other worker greeting and helping me and I believe her name was Carly? I've been to this Ulta with both wife and my daughter on multiple occasions. It seems to be overall an average to just above in my opinion. The store is located in the Hilltop Center with Trader Joe's. Surface parking is plentiful and the lot has always been in great shape with little to no debris. My wife has got her hair cut and highlights at least once with good results. Most often however I'm here with my daughter shopping for products. Checkout has been mixed, but more often slow. Our most recent was a 20 minute wait which was outrageous. Their vast array of quality products is what keeps my wife & daughter returning. I recommend them, but they are a 3.5 for me and rounding down. read more

This review is mostly for Elana. I had planned to receive hair styling, but in the end my schedule didn't work out. However, I also needed makeup, and while I originally said I'd look around myself, she offered to help my find things and I'm glad I took her up on that. She was able to quickly help me find makeup for my event, and I am super impressed by her color-matching ability. I think there was really only one product she suggested that I wasn't into, but it was more of a style preference. The items she picked out were a mix of high-end and more wallet-friendly, and for at least one item (a palette) I asked if there was something more economical, and she quickly found me the mini version of one of the colors. She also directed me to a nice travel brush set. So, if you're traveling and didn't bring any makeup with you, I suggest having Elana help set you up! read more

First of all I've had the worst experience going to the Towncenter Ulta they just shove the credit card down your throat the second you get to the counter every time I would shop in there which is almost every week since I'm a makeup artist in the area. On top of that they aren't helpful in telling you deals or anything they have going on at the time which is insane to me. They need to be more approachable & knowledgeable to the customers coming to their store. But on a good note I had the absolute BEST experience with Sebastiana at the Princess Anne Ulta. She was extremely helpful in telling me all the deals that were going on & helping me trade higher end products for more middle priced affordable products! I can usually find what I need here--the store is divided into drugstore products on one side, higher end brands on the other, and a salon and haircare section in back--I've never been to the salon, so my review concerns only the retail area. The store is clean, organized, and well-stocked. The sales associates are very helpful--one lady even told me where I could order a particular discontinued lipstick color online. The only quibble I have with this location is that I wish the cashiers would just take no for an answer instead of continuing to try to convince me that I need a store card. I received a hair cut Sat 19 Apr 2025. Was not happy with the back of the cut. Rescheduled a freshen up on the cut Tue 22 Apr 2025 was charged for a full hair cut. I did not expect to pay the full charge just three days after the first cut. I did learn that the customer should not leave the stylist chair until they are satisfied with the cut. Love, Ulta it's my favorite store. This particular store is near my neighborhood, but I will no longer purchase items there anymore. If I could give a zero I would, but the only saving grace is the cashier. She had an accent and beautiful personality and from a different country and the other ladies are extremely friendly and helpful but this one particular individual she's a very thin, young lady, she is very fair in complexion and extremely rude. She acts as if she doesn't want to be bothered with customers. When a coworker asked her to assist me with finding foundation brush her approach was definitely not friendly. Her tone was if I were bothering her and when I attempted to schedule an appointment to get my eyebrows wax it was almost like I was bothering her . Cashier April was very passive aggressive while checking me out. She asked for my information without telling me what she was doing with it (which was fine) but when I spelt my name for her she said "I figured that" in a passive aggressive tone. I called to voice my poor and uncomfortable experience and the manager didn't seem to care that her employee was rude. She did take my info and ask if she wanted someone to reach out to me but her tone gave off the impression of "ok...what do you want me to do about it." More like a 3.5, if that were an option. This is the closest location to my home and it's so convenient. Staff is always nice and willing to help you if you have any questions! I also love that Ulta always has coupons for us to use. However, it deserves 3.5 simply because this store can be messy, unorganized & have many items out of stock. It's been a lot better nowadays than before, but I've seen many occasions where products were opened & left on the shelves for other consumers to pick up (particularly the drugstore makeup). A lot of products I want/in my shade are often sold out as well, which sucks because that's usually the reason I come to Ulta. I hope they improve on restocking them more often & checking to make sure any opened sealed/packages makeup is thrown out, because it's unsellable. This is a review for Teresa, an aesthetician who did my facial. I scheduled an express facial but I definitely did not feel rushed! I have very sensitive skin as well as eczema, so I'm pretty particular about products. Teresa was really knowledgeable about helpful Dermalogica products, which I had used in the past. I went to get my hair done on 12/28/20. I hadn't had my hair color since 10/20. I had a ombre of reddish and went into orange which was all semi permanent color and done by another salon. So after 2 mo of growth and wash out I had roots showing big time. I wanted to try and do the whole dark roots with grey. Which I knew it was going to take a few visits to reach my goal. Nicole who was my hairstylist put bleach on my hair trying to get what was left of the very faded red and orange out. Not all of it came out. I had patches of red and patches of orange. So Nicole said we will have to cover it up with color and in a few weeks we can try again at least we will cover up the orange and red. No problem right! So after she puts a light brown on my hair which was darker then my normal and she says it was semi permanent so it will lighten up with each wash. So as she's drying it she says oh this looks good. As I'm looking a my hair I tell her it has a green tint to it. She finishes drying my hair she says oh yeah I see the green tint your talking about. Let's trim your hair so we can get some of the green off. I told her I didn't want to lose any length of my hair. She said no problem. So after she cuts off 3 inches she says that looks a little better. She shows me the back of my hair and I see a big red spot in my hair. I tell her that and she's oh it looks like a highlights but we can try again in a few weeks. I explained to her that I was moving out of state with in 2 weeks and I wouldn't have time to come back to fix it. So she gives me the receipt to go check out and it was $225. After sitting in the chair for 4.5 hours I go home and look at my hair. I notice the big red spot was a lot bigger once I moved the top layer if my hair. My roots were still there and still showing grey hair. I still had the green tint. And my hair has spot where the hair color didn't take very well. So on Wednesday I call the store manager Carry explained everything to her and she said she would talk to Nicole and corporate she would call me back. No call back. So I go into the store and talk to another manager Jacqueline and she basically brushed me off. Wouldn't even look at my hair. She says well Nicole said it would take a few visits to get what you wanted. I told her I know that but I don't feel I should of paid for spotted hair. Roots showing. Green tint or a big red spot in the back of my hair. Shr said there was nothing she could do I would have to talk to Nicole. So I asked her well can I have corporates number? She said you can Google it and it should come up. I left pissed. I will be contacting corporate of Ulta and the BBB regarding this. Worst customer service and hair service at this place. I love love love coming here! Great for those who are into beauty on a budget or even high end. No fuss here and employees here always greet you. They always make sure to answer any questions/concerns you have. If you sign up for Ulta's Reward program you can accumulate points on your card and get free samples and even money off your purchase. They send monthly catalogs that show their upcoming deals and they always have a coupon for $3.50 off a $10 and up purchase. You can't use it on prestige cosmetics but you can use it for everything else ranging from hair care to nails to drug store products etc. I usually come here to get shampoo conditioner, they always have deals on these. I've gotten all my chap sticks and lip balms here to keep in my car, purse, work, and home. They have a great selection of nail polishes ranging from OPI, Butter London, China Glaze, Orly, Essie, and even vegan brands as well. Their selection is different from Sephora. I only go to to Sephora for ultra high-end cosmetics. (Lancôme, Nars, Marc Jacobs, Guerlain, Make Up Forever, Kate Von D, Stila etc) But other than that I get everything else from Ulta, I don't need all that fancy shmancy. A new brand that Ulta just introduced, "It Cosmetics" which is great for this who want simple multitasking makeup. Their naturally pretty palette eye shadow palette has all the colors you need for a natural look. Ulta is also the only place I know that has a big selection of NYX cosmetics. You can never go wrong with this brand! It's like an upgraded version of Elf. Watch up for Ulta's special kits, makeup sets and other deals that have. They change it daily. I like this store and this location. I live very nearby - probably about .8 miles so I often come to the Landstown shopping center on weekends to walk around and look in all the shops or when I need to run errands. Between Ulta and Sephora I'm not sure which I prefer as both serve different purposes for me. I tend to get all my nail polish and perfumes from Ulta and buy all of my eye make-up from Sephora. This store is clean and has a huge selection of hair care, skin care, perfume, make-up, etc. They have expensive makeups like Bare Minerals, Too Faced, Smashbox, etc. while still have the cheaper brands found at Target and drug stores, Covergirl and stuff. They have a ton of hair care products as well as an in-store salon. I've never had my hair done at the in-store salon so I can't comment on that but I did ask one of the hair stylists for help once picking out some hair products and she was VERY rude so that was not a good experience. I'd never go there after that but maybe she was just one bad case. I am a member of Ulta rewards so I get points every time I spend money in the store and can cash those out for money off future purchases or for hair care if I choose. I never have. I've usually only used it for $5 off my purchase or whatever I've earned. A few years ago I wanted a limited edition pink lace Chi hair straightener from Ulta and couldn't find it at this store - so I called all around in Virginia and found another one and had it in-store transferred to this location. The manager was very nice and they even honored the coupon when I finally managed to get the Chi even though it was after the coupon period was over. Later - when the Chi went out during the one year warranty period I was able to return it to this Ulta and pick out another of the same price without paying anything out of pocket. Most of this is due to Chi's very generous warranty which Ulta has to honor - but still - they get some credit. I had not kept the receipt (although I had the original box) and called their customer service who looked up the receipt for me from the store based only on the store number and the last numbers of my debit card. That was a good experience with Ulta and I have to say their customer service (aside from the rude gal working in the salon) has always been excellent. I often bring my mom here to shop when she comes to visit as there are no Ulta's in our hometown and she has a ball trying on make-up and seeing new things. read more

Just recently, I snagged a Japonesque Tartan + Twine clutch for 50% off & a couple more goodies. Some are definitely worth knowing ahead of time & marking your calendars for bc some are deals you will NOT want to miss & are sometimes only for one day. Now my absolute favorite thing about Ulta is the range of products they offer. From Lancôme, Urban Decay, Anastasia Beverly Hills, & The Body Shop to drugstore brands such as NYX & Maybelline... They have a comprehensive selection of Brands. Not only that but they offer hair products, body products, facial products, makeup organizers as well. Basically, Ulta offers all kinds of beauty products you may want/need or can think of. Ulta isn't just limited to makeup and that alone makes the place great. They also sell Korean facial masks in this location so that's really cool. The only reason why I don't think Ulta transcends other well known beauty stores such as Sephora is the customer service. Sure, many of the employees are very friendly but say I'm looking for a certain product or I need a little feedback/assistance or that "expertise insight" if I need help choosing something as simple as a concealer I'm not going to get that. Whenever I come into this Ulta specifically I ALWAYS need to know what I'm looking for / what works best for me beforehand because I'm not going to get advice which is unfortunate. I came here because the shade of lipstick at the one closer to my house was out of stock and it was in stock here. I was also looking for a specific lip stain that is not in stock here but I figured I'd try my luck anyways. It was raining that day so I was dressed accordingly, I also rolled out of bed and came straight to this location so I didn't look my best. I didn't think that my outfit would be suspicious for theft considering I am an employee from another district. boy did I think wrong. I was followed around the store by the Clinique worker. she followed me all the way around the store until she stood next to me when I was checking out the deals for that day which happened to be the Juicy perfume. I was very uncomfortable and if I didn't come all this way for this lipstick I would've just left and not given this location my hard earned money. If you're into beautifying yourself, this is your spot! If you want cheap prices, they have it. If you want premium products at premium prices, they have it - well, most of it. If you're searching for MAC, you're in the wrong store, hunny. Never utilized the salon but if you need your hair done, they have that for you. I do suggest you sign up for their rewards club if you're a heavy shopper like myself. They have higher end lines like Bare Escentuals, Smashbox, Urban Decay, and Stila as well as drugstore brands like Cover Girl and Revlon. They have OPI nail polish, salon hair care (Fekkai, Bed Head, Matrix...) and styling tools (brushes, dryers, Chi flat irons) and more! They also have a salon though I have never had my hair done there. Doesn't that sound fabulous? Oh, also body lotions and skin care. They also have their own brand of makeup that is very inexpensive. Ulta carries drug store brands and some higher end brands, making it my go-to place for most beauty purchases. They also send coupons and special offers in the mail and through email which keeps me coming back ALL THE TIME! I'm reviewing this location because I come to this particular one the most frequently. Even if you don't shop at Ulta as frequently as I do, I recommend joining their FREE rewards program. Cashiers make it easy by always offering to look up your phone number (which is good because I can never find my member card in my bag anyways). You can rack up points quickly - especially with their Platinum Perks when you get to Platinum Status, and it's super easy to redeem them! The only thing that this Ulta lacks that other makeup competitors and even other Ulta stores have is customer service. Although I'm not saying that I need someone breathing down my neck the whole time, it be great if there were more associates on the floor to help me find a foundation or answer my questions. read more

I had the best experience here today. I had a friend tell me that she went into this store a week ago and Ashley helped her and her wife find the perfect makeup for each of them. She showed them how to apply and what color foundation, concealer, etc. they needed. My friend's skin looked flawless when I saw her, so I had to go for myself. Flash forward to today. The day of my first ever online review. I walked into this Ulta and was greeted by a very pleasant young man named Dylan. I was instantly nervous that it wasn't the Ashley I had heard of. But I thought to myself, I'm here let's just do it. So I told him the above story of my friend's experience and how I was new to the face makeup game and was interested in learning what kind of products would be good for me. Y'all. Dylan changed my life. He was so pleasant and not salesy at all. I never felt pressured to buy something unnecessary. I never felt judged by my lack of knowledge about foundations, blushes, etc. He smelled good, his voice was pleasant. If you're like me, you get annoyed by people, especially by people working in stores where you're shopping. Dylan was seriously the chick-fil-a of all people trying to help you in a store. He was truly HELPFUL, and made the whole experience amazing. My face was FLAWLESS (well- the side that he demonstrated on. Seeing the comparison to my naked face side was wild). I swear I looked ten years younger on that side, and without a ton of makeup on. It still felt natural. I had no idea I'd been putting blush on wrong my whole life, and how much a difference putting it on the right way makes. When it came time to gather all the products he used on me in order to purchase for myself, he always made sure to tell me what was necessary, what brushes could be doubled-dutied, any cheaper options I could go for, and never pushed any products on me. When I said "I have that at home" he never questioned me or pushed me to buy a new one. He always had a legit reason for recommending a certain brand, and was not just trying to sell me the most expensive. I hope Ulta is paying Dylan well and giving him all the shifts he's requesting. Came here about a week ago. Couldn't BELIEVE the audacity of the customer service coming from the check-out associates. I was with family in town and decided to bring my little sister in to experience the glamour world by her standards, test out products, and share her own ideas with me. I said she could purchase whatever she wanted just as long as she kept her appropriate budget in mind. As the associate checks us out, she tells me little sister the total and it was then that my sister realized that she did not calculate appropriately. Mistakes happen. We get it-HERES THE KICKER. The associate looks at my kid sister, and says "YOU CANT TAKE AN ITEM OFF, WILL THAT BE CASH OR CREDIT" My little sister has a panicked look about her face and the associate is just staring at her. The associate then calls a second associate to confirm to my little sister that it was HER responsibility to PAY. We get it ladies, we know how shopping works. I was standing right next to my little sister, and I was completely poker face just to see how the ADULTS would handle the situation. My little sister fumbles for the last remaining dollars that she has in her wallet and the associate smugly takes it away from her. I'm watching in disbelief as I can tell my sister is feeling helpless at this point as the transaction is not completed. The associates, impatiently staring at my sister tells her the balance remaining, and I'm thinking to my self "Why don't you just cancel the entire transaction, and just start over? What would have happened if I weren't there? How many tweens have they done this to? You're telling me, if my sister didn't want the products and we decided to leave without paying for anything, your computer system would be jolted the rest of the day because one customer didn't complete their transaction? Gold star for putting the term taking candy from a baby to use, Ladies." I paid the remaining balance and we went about our day. I told my little sister this was a lesson. All the negative reviewers, have probably only been there once and had a bad experience, but mine have been nothing less of perfect. They sell anything from urban decay, to drug store products. Their selection is pretty big. They always have coupons (sign up for the mail & email list!) So I'm always saving a few dollars, or more! Don't go to this Ulta. People are rude and seem unhappy to be there. The one at Town Center is 10x better and seem to have more products.
