I had Bernie and his crew come out today to cut down multiple huge pine tree branches all around the perimeter of my home. They were prompt, arrived at the appointment time, were efficient, careful, professional, and meticulous. They used their trucks with cherry picker buckets and were experts in cutting and and removing all the branches I requested. They cleaned up every leaf, branch and all debris afterwards. I was so relieved when the job was done and so super impressed with their efficiency, timeliness, work ethic and expertise. This company comes off as being well equipped and best around according to owner. They came here for a day rate which I guess in there minds is 5 hours if that they didn't show up till 8:30 didn't start unloading until 9. They were cleaned up and gone by 2:45 with stumps and a mess left behind and barely doing anything they have more excuses about equipment breaking etc. I ended up hiring ARBOR TREE EXPERTS and what a difference for 1k more then ultimate charged for 1 day arbor complete the job in 2 days and left it ready for grass seed. read more

I had a great experience working with Bernie. He's very easy to work with and his proposal was competitive. His crew arrived on time and took down 3 Ash Trees that fell victim to the Emerald Ash Beetle, a 50+ft Oak tree in my backyard that was ruining my pool, and a few other various problem trees and bushes. I would absolutely work with him again and I was very happy with the value for the service. Never let anyone work on your property that isn't insured/bonded/registered etc. Especially for something like tree removal where an accident could result in serious injuries or property damage. While Bernie's proposal wasn't the least expensive, it wasn't the most expensive either and I had the peace of mind that if there was an incident I was working with someone fully insured and registered with the state. read more

Ultimate Tree Service is outstanding. They really saved the day and our wedding. We are hosting it as a backyard garden party, but a diseased, nearly dead tree complicated our plans. After several service quote attempts with other companies, we found Ultimate Tree Service. With a day, Bernie responded during the weekend to assess our needs and timeframe for quotes. Bernie and his team are friendly and professional. They are like surgeons with chainsaws and other cool heavy machinery. Our tree was embedded between rhododendrons and hostas. His team took down the tree without damaging the rhododendron and grounded the stump without kill the hostas. In addition, his team removed branch and bush debris piled on the side of our garage and house. All of this was accomplished in under an hour. Since Ultimate Tree Service of Howell deleted my review on their page, I'll share this here. This is what they did to my lawn while removing trees from my neighbor's property. Apparently they think I have no right to be annoyed that they used and damaged my lawn without my permission. There are brown spots and burn marks from their equipment and gas cans, drag marks from the trees they dragged across my lawn to the their chipper. Maybe I am from a different generation, but I was taught to respect other people's space. read more

I contacted Ultimate Tree Service for an estimate on trimming down a large overgrown tree. Bernie responded that same day, went to the house the following day, and provided an estimate. I was looking to get the work done within a certain timeframe since it was a rental property and I live out of state. Unfortunately, I had some family matters come up which delayed my response. Excellent work. We had a huge tree removed and substantial trimming and pruning on other trees and shrubs. These guys really know their trees and did a superior job finding and pruning dead wood. The pruning was done in early spring and everything is really beautiful and healthy now. The crew was very courteous, helpful, and careful with our property. Bernie and Company were hired to remove trees that fell down during Sandy. He destroyed my lawn during the process, apologizing profusely and saying he would fix the problem. Instead, he left the job undone, and left several hundred pounds of woods laying on my lawn. When I told him I would not pay him for destroying my lawn, he sued me. I had to pay him off. Literally pay him off to go away. I of course, had to hire another service to fix his damage. I have the photos, and Bernie's threats to me when I refused to pay. Let me begin by stating that I wish I could post more than 5 stars because Bernie and his staff were absolutely exceptional! We had approximately 30 large trees that needed to be removed immediately due to us re leveling our property for a fence. Bernie came out quickly for an estimate and fit us in an incredibly busy schedule. Bernie and his staff arrived on time and cut all the trees down to ground level. They took away everything and cleaned up the debris from the trees coming down.
