The lady hat runs it is a red haired Asian women and she is really racist. As a person of color living in a somewhat mixed community It is easy to pick up on the differences in the way that she treats her customers. Every time I come to her laundromat she is always watching me and following me around. When it is white or Asian people that come into the laundromat she is kind and greets them. She is rude to the black people that come here.She even came up to me to see what my sheets felt like and touched them without my consent. It's always a weird interaction every time. Today was a normal laundry day.I put money in the coin machine to wash my clothes in the laundromat. I added detergent to my load and let the washing machine do its job. Upon waiting for my load to get done, she stops me like why are you sitting there and questioned if I even was washing clothes there. She is very disrespectful. She came asking me over and over if I was washing clothes. I was very angry mad very affected by her treatment of a paying customer. Don't go here. These folks have been a lifesaver during COVID! Normally we do our laundry using the coin op machines in our building's basement, but since quarters are difficult to come by, we decided to give drop-off service a shot. Super fast, super professional, and super clean! They're doing a great job with social distancing and customer/community safety, and our experience with them could not be better. read more

This place is amazing! It's so cheap and such good service. They will clean, dry, and fold your laundry for not much more than it costs in quarters in my apartment's laundry machine. And their turnaround time is incredible. I have them do my laundry all the time, mostly because it's so much cheaper and better than anywhere else by a mile. This laundromat is just a couple of blocks from my home, and I've been using it for years. The prices are low, and the people are friendly, helpful, and flexible. I have a late schedule and often can't pick up my clean, dry, folded and sorted load till the next day, and have never had any trouble with them about it. Reading your reviews, I see there are a few with comments about nasty, often elderly staff, or staff screaming incoherently, or smoking in the intake room. Guess what? There IS no intake room, and I'd bet five to one that the complainers were complaining about some other nearby laundromat. All those bad reviews and specific complaints date to 2015 or earlier. I've been in the neighborhood since before then, and though I can't be sure I think 2016 was when the elderly Chinese-speaking staff were replaced by a much younger crew: mostly a young man whose English is heavily accented but OK, and an older woman with just enough English for what she does there. Both of them are friendly and polite. Occasionally (though not that I've noticed recently) they've had help from a pre-teen, whose English is perfect. And then there's this one: *1/20/2016 Would have loved to know what their drop-off per pound rate is but as they never, EVER answer the phone, I guess that will remain a mystery. What a difference a day makes (or a year, or three, or three and a half)! They do answer the phone, at least when there's someone there who can speak English. And to solve your mystery: as far as I know they don't deliver. AND they have an ATM for customers' use only, and a quarter machine. If I could give them six stars I would. read more

We have access to a washer and dryer but on a few occasions we have done some major cleaning at home so took all of our blankets and comforters at once to be cleaned. The drop-off service charges by the pound and charges an extra fee for every blanket, but because we brought so many blankets, they didn't charge for all of them. We picked up our things the same day, and everything was perfectly clean, without any stains or rips, and everything folded neatly. What more can you ask for? We also did bring our laundry once because we had so much, and we had no issues whatsoever. It's clean, the washers and dryers work, there's a tv and places to sit. This place has convenient evening hours. That is about the only positive quality about this location. I recently did my laundry here. The dryer ate $1.50 in quarters and when I alerted the staff the elderly Asian man who works here accused me of lying. I haven't felt this insulted in quite some time. His wife had to come over and watch me lose more quarters before any action was taken. Dude didn't apologize even after realizing he was wrong... I have dropped my laundry off here every 10 days or so for the past 5 months (so about 12 times?) and have never had an issue besides twice getting someone else's (clean) sock. This place is awful. The woman was smoking in the intake room and I could smell it inside (I pointed out the no smoking sign to my husband and laughed). First problem: I had put money in a machine and The door locked before I could put clothes in the machine. I told the attendant and she soda something incoherent and walked away. Second problem: I Accidently got my pant drawstring stuck in the door of the machine and water started leaking out of the machine. I told the woman and she said something that I could not understand and threw a shirt on the floor. She motioned and yelled something so I thought she wanted me to grab some more clothes to mop up the floor. Nope! She screamed again and pointed to the back so I grabbed the mop. I mopped up the floor and the leaking stopped so I went to get an iced tea. (Contrary to the sign outside, there is no air conditioning). When I came she continued to scream at me about the water on the floor. I apologized again and asked her if I could help her. She continued to scream at me for the duration of our clothes being washed. Third problem: one of the washers we had out money into never started. We tried every button. The attendant was too busy screaming at me to even care about the washer not working. I do not know if the attendant (who spoke maybe 4 English words) didn't understand my apology or just didn't care. There was another woman who was washing her clothes in the laundromat. She said that the worker was crazy and can't believe the way she treated me. I have never had such a bad experience anywhere. I made a mistake and apologized profusely and offered to help, but this woman was unreasonable. read more

Just plain awful! Nasty service and overpriced machines. The staff are the absolute worst. They smoke cigarettes in the intake room and your clothes end up reeking like cigarettes. I've spoke to them about it and they don't care. I will never be back to this terrible establishment. read more

The WORST experience I have ever had at a laundromat! One of the machines ate our money. We tried to tell the woman working what happened, and she just kept saying "no!" I was trying to convince her to open the machine and see that the quarters were jammed, and she wouldn't. She just kept yelling at us either "don't know," "no" or "shut f*ck up." She finally got a scissor and was able to get the quarters out, after a good bit of arguing, but refused to put a sign on the machine saying it was out of order. She never spoke to us, she started with yelling, and went to the f bomb real fast, even though we were asking her to address a legitimate concern. Later when I asked to speak to the owner to got a neighborhood cop. She brought him inside pointing to us saying "bad people." While she yelled in a different language, I explained to the cop what happened. He said she has been a frequent complaint in the neighborhood (how often is a cop brought in on laundromat disputes!?), and that she is quite frankly miserable. He told me to go to the laundromat on 48th and Pine. The Pine street laundromat doesn't have this nasty lady, but it does have free dryers! Also, it's dirty! Moral: DO NOT GO HERE! Try 48th and Pine instead (I've never been there, but it can't be worse than this one, and it has free dryers!) read more

I used to go here a few times a month, and I never really had any issues. The washers and dryers work fine and are average priced (I think). There's a TV, which can be good or bad - depending on what they have on. Nice cross-section of hipsters, college students, and neighborhood folks for people-watching. read more

I'm not as impressed but this place will do in a pinch. Our washer has been in the fritz but I needed to do some laundary. Ultra Clean is within walking distance so I though I'd give the do-it-yourself option a try. The quality of washing is not what I expected. Our clothes were fine (undamaged) but I don't think they were very clean. Thankfully the clothes weren't that dirty to begin with so it wasn't that much of a problem. I think I spent a small fortune of drying. A quarter gets you 6 minutes and the dryers are not very efficient. I should have just walked home and used my own dryer but I was feeling lazy and wet wash is heavy. I'll probably go back again but only in an emergency situation. read more

Best laundromat in the area. You're in and out in an hour, MAYBE an hour fifteen if you feel like you need to fold your stuff there. No matter how many clothes you bring in. I can go in there with two months worth of laundry and still be out in an hour, it's like magic. My experience at this laundromat was so great that it drove me to write this, my second Yelp review! This is a start-up laundry business so I wanted to give it a boost since it was so good to me. I literally could not wait to write about it on here -- I haven't even taken my laundry out of the basket yet. My apartment's washer and dryer were broken so my mood heading into the laundromat wasn't my happiest. But that quickly changed when I walked in. First of all, place is spacious, clean, and air conditioned (offering pleasant relief on this 100 degree day), with a waiting area that includes seating, a small window that sells snack , whichever suits your preference (adorable!). As it was my first time there, the kind worker (owner?) came to greet me and asked if I needed help with anything. She was so kind and eager to help. She even gave me some bleach for free since I needed just a little, not the whole bottle (which they also offered for reasonable prices). Oh, and they are very friendly. I could not have had a better experience at this laundromat. Who would've thought that doing laundry would be the highlight of my day? Need I say more? read more

Let me start by saying if I wrote this review 6 months ago, it would have been 5+ stars!!!!! The staff has changed. . .and for the much much worse! The new lady who is there all of the time has terrible customer service skills! I used to drop my laundry off there, but stopped when she ruined my clothes. She bleached some of my favorite shirts, so they came back to me with a type of tie-dye look to them (and not in a cute way)! She has also lost a pair of my pants. The last time I went there, another guy was trying to explain that they lost 3 pairs of his shorts, and gave him back a pair of someone else's shorts, and the woman just responded with, "OK." Two times ago, the machine in the very back (the one that costs $4.50), stole my money, and she basically said I was out of luck! Are you freaking kidding me??? AND, to add more insanity. . .they have a sign clearly posted on the wall that says business hours are until 10, but as I was waiting for my clothes to finish drying at 9:30, she kept telling me they were closed. I pointed to the sign and said, "I thought you were open until 10"? She said, "No!" I told her she should change the sign, so that people can plan to have their laundry done in time! As I mentioned earlier, there used to be a man who worked there that was AWESOME!!! I don't know why they got rid of him, but they made a mistake!!!! read more

They're fine. Walked in with my clothes, threw them in the washer, paid, came back 30 minutes later, threw them in the dryer, paid, came back 36 minutes later and bam clean clothes. WOW! Today I had my second visit to this place. First time was fine, nothing to brag about, but everything was fine. Today I walked into the shop, put 3.50 into one of the big machines, loaded some towels in, put soap in the top, and ran back out to the car to fetch the rest of my clothes. When I came back in, the machine asked me to pay 3.50 more. Figuring that maybe it was a glitch or the machine ate my money, I hit the "coin return" button a few times, and then turned around to asks the guy working for some help-- either the machine ate my money or somebody had removed the coins I inserted. Before I could say a word to the guy working, he started to yell at me!!! "Dont come here if you dont have any money!! There's a coin machine right over there! I saw you! I saw you hit the coin return button! Dont come here! You cant wash your clothes if you dont have any money!" WOW! I tried to explain, but the man had clearly made his mind up about me, and I dont think he understands english very well. I'm not a very assertive person. I dont do well in confrontation, but this was insane. I dug through the piggy bank to find the quarters to wash my clothes. I had a finite amount of cash, and I dont enjoy having to pay TWICE for my laundry while being called a liar and a cheat in front of the 10 or so people doing their laundry, including my landlord! I'm in the service industry-- I get it. Customers can really piss you off sometimes, but this was just insane. The guy working was prepared to yell at me before I had even spoken a word to him! I wonder if he was the one who took the coins out of the machine? I stepped outside, let tears well up in my eyes, got myself together and went back inside to ask for an apology. The guy ignored me. Then I asked for a refund, and then the argument began. I could deal with my money being eaten/stolen, but I dont think I've ever been treated so badly at ANY business establshment, EVER! After 10 minutes of arguing, the man reluctantly gave me my money back, and banned me from the place. Wee! haha, guys, this was insane. I really didnt need all that drama. I was just trying to do a load of laundry. This guy just seemed giddy about the chance to attack me. If you're bored, check this place out. It's really a shame when, at a place you've patronized for years, it's your turn to be unlucky, and have 2 fully loaded driers with $4 in quarters between them simply shut down, default back to zero time from some electrical error. My attempts to explain this to the management resulted in being shouted at and essentially called a liar, and my requests for a refund laughed at (or even for them to post a sign stating that the machine was broken)!! It's really sad to see people seemingly take refuge in the fact that there is this huge language barrier to blame for lack of understanding the issue...I mean, aside from the fact that they're feckless AND unethical, you'd think informing people when things are broken would simply mean less hassle for them in the long run, no? I have been going to this laundry mat weekly for about six months. At least 4 times when I was folding my clothes I discovered they smelled like smoke when I took them out of the dryer. I'm not a smoker and have a really sensitive sense of smell. The employee office is connected to the room behind the dryer's air intake. I kept trying to catch the little older woman who works there smoking in that room but was unsuccessful until today. I caught her and a younger male employee smoking in that room and I asked if they could please not smoke inside, bc it makes my clothes smell like smoke. The woman argued with me trying to show me that the pipes bringing into the machines were sealed. I tried to tell her that it might look sealed but I had to rewash my towel load this week bc they reeked like an ashtray. She did not seem to believe me and she just closed their office door to try to hide the smoking. I won't be going back and don't recommend it unless you don't mind your clothes smelling like smoke. read more

This used to be my go-to place until today. I put my clothes in a malfunctioning dryer and the woman working here engaged me in a full-on argument about whether or not to refund me the $1.50 I had paid. She showed absolutely no respect for my issue and seemed hell bent on being a jerk as opposed to helping to solve the issue. I think the best solution for any customer -- and most especially a regular customer -- would've been to offer to dry the clothes in another machine. Instead, I was shouted at, my money was taken for a service I never received, and when I asked for the name and phone number of the manager/owner it was refused to me. Avoid this place at all costs. Bad businesses should not be rewarded with your money or to time. read more

Avoid this laundromat, both for drop-off and machines. Drop-off lost stuff, which I didn't notice until unpacking it two days later. And today I used two machines, but one had a broken soap thing. I alerted the woman running the store, whose English is not sufficient to communicate with customers. She flushed the soap into the machine with a bucket of water, but it was as the cycle was finishing, so clothes came out dirty. When I asked for them to be run through a working machine, she refused and complained that the machine worked. Avoid, avoid. read more

Last Sunday when I went there, I try to use their 50lbs washer, but it was always busy. I have to wait so long for the attendant to take out the clothes. They usually have two biggest washing machines, but one of them is broken. I really like this place because it's really close to my area, I'll come here twice a week.
