I switched to UM from Beaumont last year to get care for my Crohn's. Arrived at this center…read moreyesterday for my colonoscopy. The care at UM is always top notch. This center has a good system for COVID too - once you check in they assign you a seat. Your driver can also follow where you are in your procedure (still waiting, OR, etc) on a computer screen near the bathrooms too. Only reason I'm docking it 1 star is I had to wait a while before my procedure... Like 1-1.5 hours, while sitting there in a gown, and I had left my phone with my mom so it felt longer. Apparently they were a bit backed up (no pun intended...) that day though.

Absolutely hands down the worst. Would give no stars if I could. Called Psychology services to set…read moreup a routine appointment. The call center representative 1st berated me for my diagnosis, then proceeded to say I was "untreatable," said that U of M "doesn't accept your kind of patient," and finished by advising me to call Community Mental Health. (Which only serves patients on Medicaid and therefore isn't applicable.) I've received excellent care from Neurology and Physical therapy at U of M before. I have incredible friends who work for U of M health and I was expecting far better treatment, or at least professional courtesy. Disappointment doesn't even come close. Saw a sign outside saying they were the 5th best hospital system in the nation. Leaders and the Best? What a load of BS.

Buckle your seatbelt it's a long story...but you'll be glad you read it so you can go elsewhere to…read moreget your vaccines before you travel! My husband and I are going to Costa Rica next month and needed to get Hep A and typhus vaccines before travel so called passport health to schedule an appointment. I am four months pregnant and when I called to make my appointment I informed the woman taking the call and she put it in my file. She told me for a combined visit it would be $59/person. We were even able to get a Saturday appointment...things were looking great! So we get to our appointment which was Saturday at 6 pm and the front door to the building is locked. We tried calling the clinic but the number listed on the website is the home number of the medical director and not the office line. Finally someone exited the building and was able to let us in. We sit down with the nurse who does little more than pull up the CDC website to go over the vaccines we need (which I had done beforehand on my own), before informing me that she won't vaccinate me at all due to my pregnancy, since their informed consent paperwork stated "I am not pregnant" next to both necessary vaccines. (Even though the CDC website she was referring to clearly states that Hep A is indicated in pregnancy). So my husband gets his two vaccines, the Hep A shot and the typhus pills to take home. Then as she's finishing the visit she's going over the charges and says so it'll be $118 for the visit, $100 for the hep A and $120 for the typhus. WHAT! I said, uh uh I was told it would be $59/person. She says yeah, that's for the "consultation" not the vaccines themselves. So after much begrudging she took my visit off the bill since I never got vaccinated, but did increase my husbands visit payment to $75 for a single visit versus the $59 for the combined visit. We explained to her how shocked and unhappy we were and vowed to call the medical director hoping he would do something to make it right. So now we get to Bruce Kane D.O. medical director of passport heatlh. I finally got a hold of him tonight. Our conversation was totally fruitless. When I told him the above story he says..."so what's your beef?" I said well the finances for one, I was told over the phone the visit would be $59/person and ended up paying $300 at the end of the day. His reply: "well if you thought you were going to come and get whatever vaccines you wanted for $59 that's crazy. Any rational person knows you can't get vaccines for $59." I said, how am I supposed to know what is an appropriate price for vaccinations? How can I expect to pay anything other than what I was told I would be charged over the phone? He replies "any rational person would know they can't get vaccines for $59. Based on what you've told me I don't owe you anything." He did admit that pregnancy is NOT a contraindication for the vaccines and I could have been vaccinated. And so I told him that the consent form HIS clinic provided stated that pregnancy WAS a reason I could not be vaccinated, and his reply was that the nurse is new and he'll "talk to her about it." So you have unprofessional and uneducated people all in one place giving "advice" and travel vaccines. Go somewhere else...anywhere else.

Made the appointment online... received a phone call that I needed to fill out paperwork online…read more.. Asked the office manager if I needed to contact my insurance before coming in... Was told no you can contact them afterwards... She DID NOT say we do not accept insurance... Paid $400 for office visit and 2 immunizations... Contacted insurance today to get reimbursed and was told that Dr. Kane is not in their network... When using doctors in the BCBS network this service is covered 100%. Called the office back and was told... you must have misunderstood.... good bye. Stay away from this clinic if you have insurance coverage!! Am now on the phone with my credit card company to dispute the charge.
