Because of my request, the cash machine that counts everything had to be reconfigured. After I was shown that the cash machine was indeed correct in its count, and that I was incorrect in my assumption, I apologized several times and let the team know that I was wrong. The lady however, the coworker who came over to assist my request, was visibly frustrated. I can completely understand how frustrating it must be but this is still your job. On top of that, she openly said "now I've got to reconfigure this machine. I am so annoyed right now." I think it is fine to feel what you feel, but it is unprofessional to express these things in front of members who are making a request for correction. I was respectful, spoke in a soft tone, was never rude in anything I said, and apologized several times. I don't think anyone should be penalized for requesting a service that I believe banks should give to their members-this is my money. The cashiers were not wearing name tags so I could not give you an idea of who I was working with, and if they had nameplates on the front, I did not see their names. We called their support line repeatedly to freeze the card, only to be hung up on and told by a recording to call back during normal business hours. Leaving your members completely unprotected over the weekend while criminals attack their accounts is negligent management. To make matters worse, the emergency number listed on our Sierra Central online member page (855-251-1790) doesn't even go to the credit union--it connects to a medical transport company called Modivcare! Any legitimate bank offers 24/7 live support to cancel compromised cards and stop fraud in its tracks. Sierra Central shuts its doors, turns its back, and leaves its members devastated and hanging out to dry. If you want your hard-earned money protected after 5 PM or on weekends, do not trust this institution.
