Dr. Steinmetz is just a caring, understanding, well-mannered, humble, and gracious person. I have to say person, because he has to be such a person first to be a doctor with those qualities. Not to be ignored is his staff. His staff is just as courteous and understanding. I read reviews putting them down - but I beg to say, the person writing such a review, doesn't quite have an understanding of what to expect from an office staff in such a delicate yet fast-moving environment, attending to phones, patients, and any requests of the doctor... May Jehovah God bless Dr. Steinmetz and his staff, giving all of them good health and long life so they may take care of us who need them.

My only issue is the attitude of one of his front-desk assistants. The employee seated on the left, "Hope," is rude on the phone and also, very frequently, in person. She works in a busy office but should prioritize treating patients politely (we're already nervous about being seen by the doctor.) A show of more patience and assisting us with more respect would be helpful. The rest of the staff is very professional and also kind to newer patients like myself. I've been to the office a fair number of times and have NOT received the same kindness from Hope. She seems quick to get huffy and can be snappy. Overall. I cannot give a 5-star rating after being snapped at several times. But no issues with the doctor's care.

It's sheer magic! They have expanded the number and locations of their offices over the years, and the number of internists and other specialists in their practice. I once told him that after wearing a heart monitor for 13 days, the result was first degree heart block. He said, "Oh, that's nothing!" My stepdaughter told him he had a spot on her lung of 0.5 centimeter. He said, "Oh, that's nothing!" And I remember how in past years, I always leave his office feeling better than when I came. But the day came seven months when I presented with a serious condition, and he has persisted and persisted since in saying, "Oh, that's nothing. It's all in your mind." (He has actually told me that the main thing wrong with me is my mind. I learned that that is called "gaslighting.") And I know that isn't true, and I know he is wrong. And if this same thing happens to you, you should be apprised that that is the day you must make a decision--whether to continue to put yourself in danger or to part ways.
