I've heard about Unclaimed Baggage for years (I used to live in Alabama), but somehow never actually shopped there. Last week I fell down the rabbit hole on their website and ordered 5-6 items on a whim. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much. I buy plenty of secondhand clothing, so I figured I'd get a few decent pieces and call it a win. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and every single item looked far better than expected! Most of my purchases were listed as being in "good" condition, but I would personally call them all "like new" or even "new." Everything arrived spotlessly clean, professionally processed, and completely odor-free something every secondhand shopper knows is worth celebrating. They carry a surprising number of luxury brands, and many items still have original tags attached. It felt a little like opening a treasure chest and realizing the treasure is actually there. This was a ton of fun after hearing about this place. They have everything from clothes, to sporting equipment and everything in between. My boyfriend was able to get two pairs of ray bans that were pretty much brand new for $20 a pair. There is also an ample amount of designer items here all for well below store prices. Some are pretty worn thus the reduced pricing. I was able to get some great deals on Lululemon clothing for $40 an absolute steal. Thought maybe I'd find a replacement phone in the electronics, but unfortunately nearly everything I found was double the price of getting it from an authorized used, refurbished, or back market seller, so that was disappointing. No negotiation or reasoning on why it would be double the price here made any sense. One claim was, "well, these have barely been used" which also doesn't make sense when the battery life is at 87%, which represents 2 years of regular use, and the phone is already 3 years out of market cycle. I have heard the myth of this place for some time now. I have seen the online stories, seen the TikToks, and even did a bit of research for myself. I, however, was oblivious that when we were in the area that we were so close to the physical store. My uncle told me he had stopped there and that is when I had it in my mind that we were going to stop here, whether my Dad wanted to or not. Walking in here you have no idea if you are walking into a store, museum, or amusement park attraction. You feel like you are walking into a mystery because of how everything greets you here. Once inside you have to let yourself adjust a bit. It is just so overwhelming that you have to take a breath and figure out which way you want to go. For me, I had to figure out if I wanted to be a tourist or if I wanted to shop. I decided that shopping was going to be my first task and then tourist would be my second task. With that I set out into the store. I automatically wanted to head to the electronics area and see if I could snag something there for a decent price. Once you get to this department you have the realization that people really do leave just about everything on an airplane when the deboard and just forget about it. You get to walk by the 'luxury' items (sunglasses, jewelry, handbags, wallets, etc.), clothing, and sporting goods items. But to see the amount of iPads, phones, laptops and gaming systems left behind and ready for you to purchase is just flat out crazy. I browsed and looked at the specs of items of every variety. Laptops and MacBooks, iPads of every generation, phones for both Apple and Android, Nintendo Switch, and even Xbox and PS5 consoles. I had a conversation here asking about how they can offer these items and they told me that the airlines do their due diligence in finding the owners of the items, after months they sale the items to here and they have them unlocked to the best of their abilities. I even asked if the items were ever reported stolen and at this point most people who lost them have already purchased new. I then ventured out to look at clothing. The hats were aplenty, but I did not purchase. I then moved onto the luggage. So many suitcases, some brand new. But then I spotted the 'New Arrival' section. Think Goodwill with the bins. You have to rummage through here to find a gem. I ended up with a FireStick and continued on my way. I snagged an ugly button down (that I have since gotten many compliments for) and made my way through the rest of the space. At this point, I wanted to take in the museum/amusement park aspect of the space. Throughout the store there are spots where you can have a photo-op. Neatly stacked luggage where you can make it look like you are popping out of the suitcase. Then there are the displays of the outrageous items they have come across. Once display is of dresses once worn by Marie Osmond. Then there is a bottle of really expensive, top shelf alcohol. But the one place to check out, to spy some of the outlandish items, is this small alcove that is dubbed as their museum. Items from movies such as Labyrinth, suits of armor, hats of all kinds with autographs, musical instruments. Each with a description of the item. There is also an annex type building for deeply discounted items, but I did not go out there. Instead I made my way to the front to pay and ended up going through their souvenir items, snagging a reusable bag on my way out. Staff here are amazing and very knowledgeable. If you don't see an item in store from their souvenirs shop you can go online and try to snag it. Also, do yourself a favor, if you can't get here, shop online. Other things to note under this roof other than the museum aspect. Coffee shop, screen replacement for electronic items (and other electronic repairs). Definitely a great place to shop for items that you would not expect to be left behind. Kind of a super thrift store. read more

I worked for the Airlines for 30+ years. I have ALWAYS wanted to visit here. My hubby and I had an event to attend in Chattanooga, and decided to make the drive. WHAT A BLAST! I'm not a huge "thrifter" and I hate digging in bins. For the most part, clothes are nicely organized on racks like any department store. There's minimal chaos. Pricing is all over the place. Some cheap. Some middle of the road. Some high end. I saw Chanel dresses and Louis Vuitton purses. Perfumes at 1/2 price. Cosmetics still sealed. All 1/2 price from retail. It's definitely worth the visit. Coffee shop serves Starbucks. Cookies are to die for :) We had a fun day and will definitely go back again. How can you give anything less than 5 stars to this "Amazing Place." Everything once was lost, but now they're found, you'd be blind if you can't see the deals There's all kinds of stuff to peruse through. I mean anything that can fit in a suitcase, backpack, duffel bag, you name it, could be yours, and at bargain prices. For instance, I found an Armani button up dress shirt for 16 bucks! It was in perfect condition. But alas, I was too big for it. Too tight around the midsection. Had it fit I really would have felt like a fat cat, rather than actually being one. Too many of the B&B's....beer and brownies LoL. To be perfectly honest, it was a bit strange rummaging through other people's belongings. I felt a bit smarmy. However, after seeing the deals, that feeling waned quite quickly. But it sure gave great insight into what some folks would shove into their luggage. It makes you scratch your head and think, if folks pack this stuff, what happens to the nefarious items. Is there a store for those? They'd have to charge admission for that place. I have been wanting to shop here for years, but it is just not local for me. So when we were planning a roadtrip through the area it just made sense. They have a sprawling complex with multiple buildings. Each is themed to what they have to sale. While the business obviously started out as a lost luggage business, they have expanded and have more than just that to offer. Definitely a good selection of items, but definitely not the best service toward disabled individuals. I walk with a cane due to severe joint issues and need access to a disabled sitting room so I can sit as I try on clothes. I went to go ask the staff member by the dressing rooms for a room, (a teen girl who was entirely uninterested with being there), and she blandly told me "We only have two disabled rooms. One's being used and we have stuff in the other one." I spoke to the woman at guest services about the experience, but wanted to make sure I also mentioned this on Yelp so it isn't brushed under the rug; Disability accessible spaces aren't unimportant, and definitely shouldn't be used as throwaway space. It always baffles me how many places and people continue to label us as an afterthought, even in 2026. Again, decent selections of items, but it unfortunately becomes hard to appreciate when it becomes much harder for me to even try on clothes without risking joint dislocations. read more

We were driving from Huntsville to Nashville, so decided to stop in here along the way. You wouldn't think they would still get so much unclaimed baggage with everything being computerized now, but apparently they do. Bags that don't get back to the owner after 90 days become unclaimed baggage, and these people buy it by the truckload. You never know what you are going to find. They have lots of men's and women's clothes. (Including used women's lingerie, but hey... This *IS* Alabama... :). :). They have belts, shoes, Jackets, jewelry, electronics, books, CDs/DVDs , You name it, they have it. The selection is huge, and it's always fun seeing what you can find. My partner got a small Kate Spade purse for only 40 bucks, which is pretty good, and some nice jewelry for a reasonable price. Everything is different. Some of the prices are a bit higher, some, not so much.. You really have to look around. To make sure you are getting a good deal. There is a discount/bargain basement store across the parking lot, with stuff that is even more reasonably priced, and They have a webpage where you can do mail order. As you walk thru the store, there are exhibits around the store, showing some of the interesting things they have found in unclaimed baggage over the years it's a fun store, the next time I'm back in the area, I want to stop again. I stopped by this location a couple of days after Christmas, and let me tell you--best. idea. ever! The vibe was great, and most of the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. This is a fun day trip from where I live (with lunch at Top of the Rock). It is a bit sad when you see things you can tell we're going to be gifts or souvenirs that never made it back home with the owner. There are two buildings so don't miss the smaller one with some miscellaneous, bulk items. I have found some great brands, new with tags, and bargains (not thrift store bargains, but more than half off the tag). Yes, it's a little bit more expensive than you would think. And, yes, I was hoping to find more higher end items among the racks. After an hour or so of going through the main women's section, I was able to find Agolde jeans, a very cute Gap shirt, and a unusual unknown brand that was different enough that I was willing to pay $15 for it. The museum section is great and I think the concept of the store is fantastic. The staff are wonderful, too. Overall, I'm glad I went but I'm not sure if I would go out of my way again to visit. Ok this place has been a must visit for years. Located in Scottsboro Al this is about a 40 minute drive off I -24 between Nashville and Chattanooga. The moment we pulled up it was obvious that this was a busy tourist spot. We enjoyed some of the memorabilia and small museum within the store. Basically this is a huge thrift store, comprised of lost luggage. However I think the store made a mistake by also bringing in a few lines of new merchandise and that took away from the authenticity as to whether or not an item was truly from lost luggage. Overall my disappointment was that I didn't find any great bargains. Oh you might save a little but name brand items definitely had name brand prices and in many cases I felt that I could go buy the same item new for same price. For anyone who loves Nostalgia and Shopping this is a fun place to visit. The store was clean, staff friendly and helpful just not the shopping experience I expected. Heard about this place from HopeScope on YouTube. So many rave reviews about how the place was full of cool merchandise that happened to all be lost in the airport. Apparently everyone who travels is broke a f because everything was awful, cheap clothing but at retail prices. Most of this stuff is used and yet they're wanting top dollar for used no-name brand clothing. There was even a wedding dress that was almost a thousand bucks! What?! Need a used hat from Macy's? $40. Need a knock off Robin Ruth souvenir Vegas purse? $20. Need a wedding welcome cotton tote bag? $10-$15. Used headband? $15. What?! We're in the middle of nowhere Alabama. Who is paying these prices?! They have an entire room of toiletries and candles - again, retail prices. Who is paying $20 for a candle that fell off the back of a luggage cart? This stuff should be basement level prices when it's almost all used clothing from Ross, Marshall's, SheIn or Target. Was really excited to finally get here but it was what I hoped for. Considerably more expensive than I expected. It reminded me of a Goodwill store combined with Gimme a $5 (Amazon crate stores). I felt like I needed to have on gloves as some of the non-clothing felt sticky or dusty. There wasn't anything that I thought stood out as an absolute bargain or deal when buying free merchandise. I can at least mark this off my "Gotta Do It" list. I will say the museum-type room was interesting. We heard about this place on You Tube a while back and learned that all of the lost and unclaimed baggage in the US gets sold in bulk to this shop by the airlines. The concept sounded interesting so we decided to take a detour here during our day trip to Northern Alabama. We didn't buy a single thing! Most of the stuff in the store is garbage. It's either super used and beat up, or it's a crazy price that's similar to what you might pay brand new! Hell, we saw $20 candles!! I love this place! As any thrift store, it can be hit or miss if you're looking for something specific, but if you're just hoping to find something different then you may have some luck here. Now some people seem to expect to find luggage here, which they do sell, but that's not the best item to find there. They sort and find mostly items inside luggage, and they are not able to salvage as many luggage pieces in great condition (for obvious reasons). I have found some great clothing and shoes, but of course you have to dig through since they have so much stuff. They also carry surplus items from a few different brands, but of course stuff rotates all the time. A friend found some gorgeous Lily Pulitzer tea cups, and bought them all, but then a few more showed up a couple months later. In all, if you don't live too far, then it's worth doing a periodic visit if you're into thrifting, they have some great findings if you're patient. Plus remember that you can find items that people bought outside the US, so you never know. It's also a great spot to take friends who are visiting, while there's a couple other places that can be fun to check in Scottsboro while you're there. read more

I found several distressed Jean jackets, a Jean vest, Dr. Martens boots, nice puffy mid-calf winter coat, and a military style backpack. I have never been so pleased with my haul from here. Once we arrived, we was greeted by friendly employees. The whole store is huge and that just coming from the women's and children's section which the entire building is devoted in that category along with jewelry, accessories and shoes. The men's clothing is located in another building which we didn't have to walk far. They have there own fitting rooms and separate cashiers which makes since. Overall it was a novelty experience and I am so glad we went, but not something I need to do again. The prices in the main area seemed higher than expected, and we struggled to find items worth the cost. This place had been in my bookmark section on Yelp for years. I finally took some time to take a road trip and see what it is all about. The store is easy to locate with GPS and the bright signs they have out front. The main store consists of women and children's clothes, shoes, purses, jewelry, luggage, etc. they have a separate building that houses the men's clothing. That store is 3 levels. The main level is causal men's wear. The second level is dressy men's wear. The third floor is housewares,last chance items and the restrooms. I started perusing the ladies attire. I immediately was taken aback by what I consider exorbitant price tags. For example, I saw shirts that cost $20-$30 bucks!! Express pants for $16, Fame jeans for $70, wool rich coat for $315. The prices were inline with consignment. It is very clear that this is a for profit store and they are not looking to offer great savings. I am a true bargain hunter. It's just what I do. I saw a Kate Spade coat for sale listed at $155. I honestly think that I can get the same coat brand new at the Kate Spade outlet or a store like Marshalls or TJ Maxx for the same or if not better price. I continued to browse the store and did find two items that I felt ok paying for. I found a pair of Chelsea & Violet bell bottom jeans for $19.99 and a Norma Kamala jumpsuit néw with tags for $25. These items are what I consider splurge items because I do not typically spend that type of money on clothes. I know what you are thinking- these are great prices. They are, and that is why I purchased them, but it's just not how I typically spend money on clothes. Positives: all of the staff I encountered were so friendly and helpful. Additionally, the fitting rooms are open and they clean them after each customer leaves. Overall, if you are in the area and have time to look for a good deal I would recommend stopping by. Purchased from Unclaimed Baggage for the first time. Check out was easy, selection was very large. Package shipped on 12/3, but by 12/11, tracking still showed label created. Contacted customer service a few times and a missing package tracer was requested to USPS. Package finally arrived 12/14. Don't know where the gap is, but tracking process could be better. We bought a few different items, beats ear buds, some clothing items, a clock, a Kipling pouch. Everything arrived in stellar condition. Everything was clean. Beats worked perfectly. Other than the shipping issue, I would definitely buy from here again. Just be patient with the shipping as it seems like this is a common occurrence. But if product is as good as the stuff we bought then I would say the little bit of inconvenience is worth it. read more
