This is the worst pawnshop I've ever been to! They lost my phone number associated with my ticket. They didn't have it then when I called them to make a payment, they said they would send me the link to the app and I could pay it on the app they never sent the link. Then when I went there to pick up my stuff the same day because I was worried that they didn't have my things I was told I could only pay cash and to go to the strip club next-door and they had an ATM which I am a woman and did not feel comfortable going to the strip club to get cash so I had to drive on my way to a gas station to get the cash . Their treatment and their total disregard is just totally unprofessional and I will never go there ever again. read more

I went to Uncle Dan's location off Hampton the other day with a friend who is one of their regular customers. She was given a price for an item by the store manager that they agreed on . When we returned less than an hour later to pick up the item he refused to honor the price and raised it even more than the original price. He said that he had the right to change his mind. He was rude, unprofessional, and showed me that this store is dishonest and lacks any integrity . His behavior didn't even warrant the one star given in this review. It would be my advice to shop at an establishment that hires employees who have morals and values loyal customers. We will not not be returning to this store or any other location if this is acceptable behavior. read more

I was in one of your stores last week and ask for the owner to give me a call. Spoke to one of your employees. Her name was Kathy and she said that the owner Dan was out on his lake house getting Drunk and didn't have time to call customers. I mentioned to her my problem with the store manager on Hampton. Man I love this spot! They always have a variety of fire arms, tools, and electronics! The team is awesome, An assistant manager named Charlie is always there to greet you, and the store manager Albert will bend over backwards to help you out. Selling second hand items, people are usually wary of buying from pawnshops buy the team here is more than willing to test out every item they can BEFORE you purchase it this eliminating any doubt in the item. They are even more helpful when it comes to loaning money. I've occasionally used them for short term loans that you wouldn't be able to get at other places at short notice. Worst company to deal with, I put an online qurstion in about my gift card I wanted to sell and was told they will buy the store card but didn't say the pin could not be scratched off, so wemt to the store to have thw store credit reissued worhout the pin scratched off to them be told they don't take merchandise credits however their website has a tag sayimg sell us tiur merchandise credits and Sherry the ine emailng me all this information from customer service is never available by phone. Two srores failed very badly the north hampton rd and mockingbird locations. I had some old scrap gold I was shopping around to sell ~ Uncle Dan's was my 3rd stop. The sales person was very nice and helpful, she took the time to look through my items. Now its time to get down to business ~ My first complaint is that they hide the scale that your items are being weighted on. (this should be a transparent transaction) Then the sales person comes back to me with an offer to purchase. If I had not been shopping around or If I had NO IDEA what my items were worth, I feel that Uncle Dans Pawnshop would have really taken advantage me. Don't get me wrong I understand the pawnshops business model ~ And I know they take all the risks when they accept merchandise. But to make an offer somewhere between 20% and 25% of the actual Scrap Gold value is just plain taking advantage of the uneducated. Great pawn shop to go to! They have so many things to choose from. You can go looking for one thing and find yourself finding tons of great deals. Went to look for a few tvs a few weeks ago and Henry helped out, told him what sizes I was looking for and he helped me choose 3 different smart tvs for a great deal! Would highly recommend shopping with him, or this place in general. He was attentive, made sure to show me that everything worked properly and helped me get in and out quickly and easily. I have always loved their jewelry selection but I put an air conditioning unit in layaway unpaid on it when I went to take it out they told me the layaway had been canceled! I told them I had not canceled my layaway! They said no the manager canceled it because the police came and took the air conditioner and said it was stolen! I did get my money back but I should have gotten a call when the incident happened! I put the air conditioner in layaway for a purpose I needed it in one of my rental properties when it started to get hot! By the time I found out about this it was on into the summer and the aces everywhere were sold out. I feel like the manager should have contacted me immediately! This store is not managed very well. There's an awful lot of young people walking around with their phones and not helping customers.however there is one lady that works there her name is Bernie and she is excellent! read more

Terrible thief's. I borrowed money by using our apple laptop making timely rollover payments. And when I went to pickup my Apple they said it had been sold and denied we had ever made the last payment. I showed them the receipt and they said it wasn't good enough I needed a different receipt but that was the only one they gave me. Terrible store. Pulled up at shop to get weed eater at 6:54pm asked were they closed and the answer"yes". Just wondering why the sign says 7:00pm? So I called from the parking lot at 6:55pm and LINDA says yes we are closed sir! Nicely I asked to speak to a manager and she told me I would have to call Noel tomorrow. I recently went in to find out if I could sell some old jewelry I had. Ivan was the salesperson who helped me out and was extremely helpful and made the process very fast. He was knowledgeable enough about gold that he was able to get me a really good pay out. The pawn shop is really nicely kept and all the staff was courteous and very helpful. We wanted to look at a stepladder that was outside, so we asked the employee that was working if he could unlock it to take a look. He informed us that he did not have a key and that we needed to ask someone inside. So we wandered the inside of your store for 15 minutes trying to get someone to assist us. Improved the poster on your wall that stated reasons you lose a customer. 68% due to indifference of employees towards customers. It was 100% spot on in this case! Two employees were sitting at the bank teller window and we told them we needed to see a ladder outside. Without turning around they said we needed to ask the guy outside. We had to persist and he finally gave his guy to the man outside. Upon opening up the ladder, it was apparent that the sun had damaged the fiberglass from sitting outside in the heat for some time. My husband got fiberglass in his hands. One leg of the ladder was also cracked. So essentially, we wasted 15 minutes waiting to see a damaged ladder that put fiberglass in his hands. I can't imagine Uncle Dan would be happy about an experience like this. read more

Employees never asked if i needed help then gave me attitude when I asked a price on an item- he said not for sale although it was displayed with a price (too far for me to see price). Fire arm price was more than $200 over manufacturers msrp- i guess they price for people that dont have internet access to price check. read more

Very suprised at some of the reviews on here, I have been trading at several of the Uncle Dans for many years now and have always had great luck on finding and getting deals. ( buying or selling ) Their stores are clean, well stocked, the staff has always been attentive and helpful and I never have to wait for more than a few minutes if at all to see someone. If they have product that is not moving, Dans marks it down until it does. I have bought many items from lawn mowers, jewelry, power tools, guns and electronics and got unbelievable deals. The best part is they have always been willing to work with me on price whether it was buying or selling. They also offer some short term interest free deals. I guess you can't make everyone happy, but I can't say I have ever had a bad experience at any of the Uncle Dans stores that I have done business with. I have met the owner of the stores several times and he has always gone out of his way to make sure I left there feeling good about a deal or at least a better understanding as to why they could or could not meet my expectations on something. Onlike some of the other stores in town that have set prices for what they can buy or sell things for. Dans give their managers the freedom to make deals that will benefit both parties. THEY GET ZERO STARS!!!!! I think that GOD SHOULD COME DOWN AND CANCEL THE UNCLE DAN'S ON HAMPTON, IN DALLAS, TX! I'll admit, at first, I had a decent experience but then an unforeseen emergency hit my family. I had brought in my tablet and yes, I got behind, before it happened, I talked to Daniel and others, and Daniel said he would take care of it. THE GENERAL MANAGER? NAMED MIKE was outside in his vehicle, at the time. Daniel sent me to him. I told Mike what happened at that I had a family crisis and I lost everything and that on top of that my children's dad has passed away recently and I was just trying to get back on my feet and I even offered to work there and to even sweep the parking lot, if necessary, so that I would not lose my tablet. Mike told me, specifically, do not worry, I have his word, that I would not lose my tablet. I was crying and thanked him and told him I did not know how long it would take but that I would get it as soon as I could. he promised me that no matter what and no matter how long he would personally make sure that no one sold or got rid of my tablet. I reminded him, again, I don't know how long but god will help me to get it. he said yes and do not worry and that he would see to making sure that no one bothered it. I said I would call whenever I could but I would definitely be back to get it. HE AGREED AND PROMISED ME, TO MY FACE, THAT NO ONE WOULD GET RID OF MY TABLET! well...fast forward a couple of months, now yes, they can hold it for 2 months and then renew. they did. Daniel renewed it, so I know they still had it. I called everyday, while I could but because I had lost everything, I had no money, etc. I could no longer call everyday. I started calling 3-4x weekly. they said it was fine and still there. when I call to get it, Daniel starts pretending he doesn't remember me, then, I reminded him-repeatedly who I was-and I even told him, you may get a lot of customers but most people do not lose everything and have their children's dad die before they can get back to you! Daniel lied and he kept lying. I asked for Mike and everyone who answered all the phones at 3 different locations lied to cover for him and said he is not in or I just missed him. DANIEL NEVER TOLD ME THEY SOLD MY IPAD UNTIL APRIL 2, 2016! AND WE HAVE TALKED FOR SEVERAL WEEKS OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS! HE LIED OR AVOIDED ME ALL TOGETHER! TODAY, April 2, 2016, Daniel finally told me they sold my ipad! he never came out and said that before, only that I had left it too long and no one knew when I was coming back. I told him and I mean this - GOD IS GOING TO GET DANIEL AND MIKE for lying to me! watch out, do not trust Daniel or Mike, it is all about money, they do not care about you. they will say they do to get your stuff and then conveniently dodge you and lie to you...
