Nice and clean atmosphere. Very safe. Very friendly staff. Why 3 stars. If you are a seasoned shooter and want to practice with your 556 or alike shooting at close range like in 2 gun matches you are not allowed to do that. You are only allowed to shoot at 25 yards. If I would have known that I would probably gone somewhere else. What it is interesting is that in lane 9 you could practice shooting your pistol with a holster which is very unusual. Anyway I would recommend if you are not trying to practice close range shooting with your AR. I am not going back. read more

We had a great experience at DFW Gun Range today. We were first assisted with explanation of what kind of services were available. Post that we were assisted by Chris Malone. He first gave us a full explanation to helps us understand how it works in a classroom and then was right there through out the whole experience and helped at all times. He was super fun to work with and encouraged me throughout. The facility was extremely clean. Had the best experience. The entire staff was extremely warm as well. It's a must visit. I purchased a firearm and signed up for a beginner class to familiarize myself with my new weapon and get a refresher on gun safety. That went great! Following that I signed up for 1 on 1 training with John. I got sick a couple days before & tried to reschedule. The app on the website didnt have that functionality so I called. They couldnt figure it out either but required me to pay 50% anyway. Their app doesnt work so I was forced to pay $50 for a lesson where I would likely get the instructor sick. Rather than reschedule, I will just cancel and find another range. disappointed! read more

My bro, dad and I flew into town from Toronto, Canada last weekend to watch the Dallas Cowboys play on sunday (my dad is a diehard fan). We flew in on friday and after some bbq headed over to this gun range. My bro had signed us up for the jungle ranger experience. We also tacked on the double ammo add-on (CUZ MORE BULLETS). Instead of Chris, Raine was our instructor for the day. Very nice guy. 10+ yrs as part of the US Marine Corps. We received an intro to range safety inside a classroom before heading over to the range. This was very much needed as both my dad and I have never held a gun before (my bro had already shot guns 3 times prior to this experience). There was a group of friends who took the class with us also happened to be tourists (from Brazil) which was cool. We all had a good laugh about how noob we were. Raine was an excellent teacher! The thing I had to get used to was the sound of the guns firing. Even w/ the ear muffs on it was quite loud so my ears took like 5 mins to adjust to it. Raine told me it was actually much louder for everyone around the shooter. I thought "no way" until I actually stepped up to shoot and then magically the bullet sounds got fainter LOL. Also, I did notice that for some of the guns I tended to aim lower than I was supposed to. Something I'll look to improve! Overall, super fun activity and would do it again the next time I'm in town. I don't even know where to begin. Every employee in there was armed to the extreme. I understand having a side arm while you're working there. But these guys are wearing tactical gear with ballistics vest. They have not only the magazines for the handgun they're carrying but a couple of them had magazines for rifles on their belts. Just seemed a little bit like overkill, pardon the pun. And their policy of charging if a round happens to hit the ceiling is unbelievable. It's a gun range, it's where you're supposed to learn to shoot a gun. Accidents/mistakes happen. You shouldn't be charging your customers while they're learning. I also felt like they were very demeaning to their customers. I won't go there again and wouldn't suggest it's anyone else. read more

It was a great experience. We arrived earlier than the posted hours, yet we were allowed entry which was really courteous by the staff. The facility had a range of options to select from with 2 adventure scenarios to pick from and addons for some extra fun. We received detailed instructions and were assigned an experienced instructor who made it very easy for a first timer like me to experience the thrill of shooting in a gun range. We got a loud cheer from the entire staff in the end after we completed the experience which was fun to watch. The facility was extremely clean and well maintained too. Would 100% recommend coming here for an amazing experience. read more

It's a really nice range. I've never rented one of their guns, but the selection is outstanding. The people behind the counter are friendly and knowledgable. Overall, the facility is great. The only issue I've ever had is with the employee monitors in the shooting lanes. They hover, and it gets pretty distracting. If you unknowingly break one of the rules (they're a lot of them and they aren't posted) they descend on you and brusquely correct the error. These aren't mean people - they're just doing their job, and it's an important one. However, there's got to be a better way to ensure a safe shooting environment. I'm really conscientious about obeying the range rules, but I can't get through a clip without at least one of these rather harsh admonitions. Again, the place is solid... but there should be a more constructive way to help people that want to follow the rules. The distraction and awkwardness of the constant interruptions affect the experience. read more

Walked in, the main lobby is very nice and has some interesting things to look at. As my husband and I checked in it seemed as if some of the front desk workers were lacking in ability and did not exhibit complete knowledge. We walked in to the bay and were surprised by how dark the facility was. The targets were lighted moderately, but the individual lanes themselves were very dim. As we were shooting we noticed how poor the air filtration system was. All five lanes were full and the carbon and gases were obviously lingering in the air. In terms of safety. There was a family of 5-7 put in the three lanes next to us. It was obvious that the father was having to show everyone how to shoot. Several times some of the daughters flagged themselves and our lane. The only safety violation the RSO brought up was the daughter laying the pistol down perpendicular to the lane instead of down range. My husband is an RSO at mission ridge (highly recommended it's a phenomenal range) and he felt the need to watch that family until they left. It seemed the RSO's did not have a whole lot of safety precautions in place or were willing to correct people. The last thing I'll mention is that shooting instructors were teaching people on the same lanes as everyone else. This is fine except for the person being instructed. It would be more beneficial if there was not other shots going on and the learner could focus just on the shooting instructor. Overall I think this is an "okay" place. But personally we would not come back just because of the lack of safety measures and accountability. read more

It was almost like he was ex-military! (I know he was!). The variety of guns you get to shoot in this package is great. So if you're looking for a rifle or handgun, this class can certainly give you some ideas. It was reasonably priced as well at around $250 for an expert trainer and hands on shooting. Great day shooting! When you travel to Texas, you have to shoot some guns! It was our 1st time in Dallas and found this shooting range on Yelp. Yelp again doesn't let us down! Great, friendly, helpful people! Ethan was our "teacher" and he explained everything thoroughly, so we felt safe and ready to shoot. This was our 2nd time ever shooting guns as a family.
