OK, this was a super awesome find in between lacrosse games at Monmouth high school. It's like a cross between a Whole Foods and a Wegmans but it has way cooler stuff like homemade pasta, the largest selection of cheese I've ever seen and staff to help with anything you might need. It was very busy for a Sunday afternoon, but I felt like I took a step back into Italy as I walked through the aisles. My son got to try a bunch of cheeses just because I made him walk by the counter and the lady was the nicest and most generous person. I could've spent hours in this grocery store. Lunch was definitely a hit with our turkey BLT wrap and turkey sandwich. Wish we could have stayed longer and tried some of the prepared meals. If I were to describe the freshes ingredients in a nice plain slice, this would be it. Uncle Giuseppe does not mess around when it comes to providing the freshest slice. They have a 2 pie for 22 dollar special every Wed/Fri which is great when you are craving a nice pie. The sauce and crust were cooked to perfection IMO, perfect ratio of cheese to crust and definitely very enjoyable. Please also try some of their other cooked foods to go. An absolute fun shopping experience for an Italian foodie. Uncle Giuseppe's is basically a supermarket that features shelves of Italian goods, as well as hot & cold sandwiches, pizza and specials. The store is large, fully stocked, impeccably clean and there is plenty of seating for lunch to stay. The prepared food is good, think 'pizzeria' good, more than Italian restaurant good. With expectations in check, I would say that it's a great spot to shop and eat if you're in the area. Prices are average/plus. read more

WOW!!! First time walking in here and its an eye opener THIS PLACE IS HUGE!!! Thats an understatement bc i can't describe how massive this place is. It is the Walmart of grocery stores. Im sure what evert u need they have it here. They have alot of made in-store items like pastas, pastries, pizza, hot food, candy. Walking in you are welcomed with Italian music playing in the background sometimes there is a live music as well. In the beginning of the store you walk through the hot food section they got you soon as you walk in you start to smell the pizza and the food. Huge selection of prepared food and pizza ready for you to eat as soon as you walk in. I would get something bc dont shop in this store too hungry bc u will just keep adding to your cart. I didn't try anything while i was at the store. But i have tried the pizza my parents brought over one time and it was pretty good. Im not gunna bore u with what they have bc they have everything just look at the pics olives. Cheeses. Antipasto. Pastas. Bread. Pasties. Candy. I understand that it is the holiday season and that Uncle G receives a high volume of orders at this time of year. However, I made a simple mistake and ordered the wrong appetizer. After spending several hundred dollars on my order, I was disappointed to learn that they would not allow me to switch the appetizer. Given the large amount of food being prepared, I don't believe this change would have caused an inconvenience. As a longtime customer, I expected a bit more flexibility as part of good customer service. You are in the food industry--preparing food is what you do best--and I believe reasonable exceptions should be able to be made. Unfortunately, the woman I spoke with was very matter-of-fact and somewhat harsh in her response. There was no apology, nor did she appear to take into account the size of my order. I was also surprised, she didn't even ask me what switch I wanted to make as the appetizer I requested is typically available in their display case for general sale. read more

I really wanted to love Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace in Tinton Falls. The store has potential, and there are some highlights--especially the bakery. The desserts are absolutely delicious--from cannoli to pastries and cakes, everything we've tried has been fresh and full of flavor. Honestly, the bakery is the main reason we still stop in. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The meat department is a major issue. On two different occasions, we bought fresh meat, cooked it the same day (and cooked it properly), only to find it had a rancid odor and taste. It was completely inedible and honestly made us question how the meat is being handled or stored. For a store that markets itself as a premium marketplace, this is really disappointing and concerning. After the second time, we decided we're done buying meat from here. On top of that, the loud music playing throughout the store is genuinely annoying. It's more like being in a nightclub than a grocery store. I even made a recommendation at the front counter to consider lowering the volume, but nothing has changed. It makes the shopping experience feel rushed and chaotic instead of enjoyable. The older lady at the bakery cannot hear when people ask for items to take home. Bottom line: Go for the desserts, skip the meat, and bring earplugs if you plan to shop for more than five minutes. read more

Walking around the store feels like I'm walking in Italian Wegmans. There is so much cheese and salami! The hot bar had uninteresting offerings, so I picked from the case. It was kind of a mad house. We ordered the catered food for our family birthday and Memorial Day celebration. We had it all catered and would highly recommend it. The package came with: shrimp cocktail, antipasto, rolls, all serving pieces, napkins, plastic silverware, plates, tablecloth, trays, stereos, wire racks and heating trays, fruit platter, cookies. All in addition to our corn on the cob, bbq ribs, bbq chicken and sausage and peppers. We ordered for 10 and more than enough for 15 or maybe 20. We added some chips/ dips and veggie platter. Food was delicious and plentiful. We just needed to heat everything up. Easy peasy. We did not have to return the racks. Ours to keep. We can't stop coming here. I momentarily stopped cooking because it's easier to pick up a hot chicken francaise, eggplant rollatini, ravioli or pizza for dinner. Paired with a side of their super garlicky, super buttery garlic bread or fresh pasta-- this place is pure heaven. Seeing the imported italian products always reminds me of my time living in Siena and that was a remarkable chapter to reminisce about when walking down the aisles. I also love that they have a "kid's shopping cart" so my daughter is actually wanting to sit and "drive" down the aisles rather than drive us crazy. When you walk in, there's a fresh sushi counter, then the pizza and deli. Everything is baked fresh on site. You can grab a variety of handmade pastas, sauces and freshly prepared foods and watch the workers making them from the window towards the back. Today my receipts showed not one but two items rung up twice totalling in a $15 overcharge. While it's not always easy to check the items as they are being rung up because of having to pack as they go, but I did check immediately after and had the refunds corrected without issue. We returned to NJ and had an extremely difficult time finding an Italian deli that could provide pastries and hard bread until a friend's neighbor told us about Uncle Giuseppe's Italian Market. We were overwhelmed by the cleanliness of the whole market as well as the politeness of the staff. The pizza was ok we would have preferred less crust and more cheese for the 20" cheese pizza. The variety of the pastries were wonderful as was the staff who helped us and actually knew what hard bread was. We were definitely impressed by all the choice Italian products even though the cheese counter was missing Ricotta Sarda and Smoked Provola with butter in the center. I understand the desire of having everything in one location but there were some items that even though the quality is there depending on personal taste their prices are high. read more

Very good Italian based supermarket which should satisfy all of your shopping needs - especially if they involve cheese and pasta dishes. You have a hot food setup for quick pickings and a "deli" counter with pre-made pasta and pizza selections ready for the taking. Additionally, their cheese and olive selections are enormous. It will be very difficult to walk out of this store without overstuffing your bag from all the goodies you will find. And of course on top of this, they have your regular grocery selections so that you can have one stop shopping. I don't know that I would do my regular grocery shopping here - Foodtown, Acme or ShopRite can satisfy those needs at cheaper prices - but I can assure you that from a speciality point of view, Uncle Giuseppe's is where it is at. read more

Growing up in a heavily Italian area, I am quite used to having Italian Staples at my disposal, however, in my twenties when I moved it felt like an Italian food desert and that I could never really get anything that good around. When stopping at another store in the same plaza, I noticed the sign for Uncle Giuseppe's. I think a co-worker of mine might have dropped the name before because I was not totally unfamiliar, but from the stereotypical name that happens to be one of the names of my great-grandfathers. I figure this place had to have some good stuff. When I walked in I was both delighted and surprised by the deli selection and all the cured needs. Getting good Italian cured meats is pretty hard by me and I haven't really found many spots that has them. Additionally, they had a number of pastas and homemade ravioli that looked delicious as well. While I stopped here, I also picked up some Italian candies which I've never seen in other stores and who could help themselves to getting a couple fresh cannolis to take home. While at the pastry counter I was very indecisive and the one was who helped me was very patient and kind. I ended up getting My favorite pastry which good luck spelling because it's a nightmare for me but it starts with an s and I'm pretty sure it ends with an a and it has a bunch of other random letters in there. I also really appreciated the decor which reminds me of an Italian Villa. It was definitely over the top but it was a nice touch from the drab walls of your typical supermarket. After leaving here I joked with my wife. If we move we need to move within 15 to 20 minutes of this place so I can shop here regularly read more

Finally made a stop here after reading about the hype on social media, and it definitely lived up to it! Our favorite sections were the cheese dept- so many cheeses, crackers, jams/spreads, and the bakery department. Got a dulce de leche cake and some truffles and both were delicious. Can't wait to try their rainbow cheesecake next (recommended to pre order as it wasn't available the day we went and we were told they sell out quick).
