Roy was a pleasure to work with! He was able to board our dog semi last minute due to our original sitter cancelling last minute. I was unsure at first to trust a stranger with our dog, but throughout the whole process Roy was easy to work with and very accommodating and such a nice person! He made sure to do a meet and greet first with our dog and explained his process of introducing new dogs to other dogs who are there. Throughout our vacation, he sent updates and videos which we enjoyed watching and our dog came back to us in perfect condition LOL. Roy and team AKA uncle paw paw is the best! We've tried many other boarding options, but uncle paw paw is the only place that we can really relax knowing our dog is in good hands. He sends regular updates and our dog is always in good shape when we pick her up. Other boarding places she would frequently come back sick. Roy has even washed her bed for us before returning it. I can't recommend him enough and even though driving to Union City from Oakland can be a pain, it's worth it for the peace of mind. read more

Can't speak highly enough about Roy & his team! We got our pup Emma at the beginning of the pandemic, and prior to meeting Roy we had boarded her with folks that dog sit as a weekend gig and were not consistently available. We were urgently trying to find the right fit for our first time leaving Emma longer than a weekend, and Roy eased all of our worries with our initial meet and greet. It meant a lot to us that he does this full time and that his full attention is focused on the pets he's watching. We boarded Emma for a 2 week vacation shortly after and Roy shared pics and videos of her playing and provided updates throughout our trip. Emma hasn't had much socialization with the pandemic, so it was awesome knowing she was in a safe space playing with other dogs throughout her stay. We've boarded Emma with Roy many times since then, and he is always responsive, reliable and continues to show us that our girl is in a safe & fun environment. He also had no problem administering medication on a recent visit after she had recently broke her dew claw. We could tell with previous sitters that Emma was anxious and stressed when we picked her up - but she is always licking Roy's face and totally relaxed when we pick her up from Roy's. From my very first interaction with Roy I was impressed; he responds promptly to texts and was patient and understanding with my endless questions. I was even more impressed on meeting him in person; he has such a calm demeanor and clearly loves dogs. He spent a lot of time with me, telling me his background and explaining how things would work when my lab Cody stayed with him. I really like his method for introducing new dogs to the environment of his home and then slowly to members of the pack, one at a time. I'm sure that's a lot of extra effort for him but it seems so much better than just having the dogs all in a frenzy when a new dog arrives. Cody stayed with him for a few hours and barely looked back when Roy took him into the house....he was clearly comfortable with him right from the get-go. Even though Cody was only there for a couple of hours, Roy sent photo updates and Cody seemed to be having a great time. My wife and I were looking for a pet passionate sitter who doesn't mind watching and taking care of older dogs, like our dog Magic (14 year old), who has aging health issues and needs meds administered. When I started calling and emailing people, Roy was and still is the only one to date that answered me back. When I say answer me back it was within minutes and we set up a "meet & greet" for the very next morning. Upon meeting Roy you can tell he is very professional and has a very calming voice and demeanor which the animals definitely pick up on and in turn are very relaxed around him. Magic has taken to Roy with no issues, which is surprising for a Maltese and loves to hang around with his fur children Cole and Kenji.
