Amazing place that our dog enjoys, and a staff that's just as awesome! We had a last minute trip and I called for same day boarding - thankfully it wasn't a weekend or a holiday so there was some room for my dog for 3 nights. (If you're planning to board during the holidays, I highly recommend reserving weeks, maybe months for major holidays). In the rush of going to the Sunol to beat the 680 rush hour traffic - I completely forgot my dog's food, bed and toys at home ‍. I was too far out to turn around. Once I arrived, I explained my situation and asked if they had any in-house food and how much it would cost. They were so gracious and told me that the can take of the food for 3 nights at no charge - thank you so much!! They'll also make sure to add extra blankets on our dog's pet. I highly recommend this place, and it's always my go-to place for boarding in the South Bay. Been boarding our dog here the past 4 years! read more

My dogs go to daycare here and I'm fairly sure they think it's a resort I'm generously loaning them out to. The Sunol facility is huge and spotless, and the staff are actual dog people -- they know my two by name and always have a specific story at pickup instead of a generic "they did great!" Playgroups are supervised and matched by temperament, which matters when you've got one social butterfly and one who wants a Fortress of Solitude Best endorsement I've got: they drag me toward the door on the way in, and pass out cold the second we're home. The staff was very patient & professional and gave us a detailed tour of the facility and we liked the fact that the place is very clean. Had a great experience overall with our almost 6 year old GSD for the trail period. We were initially very nervous as our dog is very reactive. But surprisingly, she did fairly well with the crew /handlers and also the other dogs she was left with during her socializing trial. I had the best boarding experience here with my rescue pup! The staff were knowledgeable and very responsive. They emailed multiple pictures to me throughout the week while I was away. This was my second boarding experience and after the first one, I went in very nervous after a horrific experience at another boarding center. But the staff here went above and beyond to make sure my dog and I were comfortable. They would provide detailed updates each time I called to check in just to make sure everything was okay. By the second day of his stay, I felt relieved that he was in good hands. Mickey looked like he was having a blast in the field! The smile from the pictures alone assured me he was happier than ever! They took extensive notes during drop off to ensure all instructions were correct. Everything was followed accordingly! He requires daily medication and the staff had no issues providing them. I took my baby Mitzy here for orientation and tried daycare a couple of times. She absolutely loves it! They have a great outdoor playground, which is perfect since Mitzy loves sunshine and playtime. Went in for a tour as we have been looking for a facility to board our dogs once or twice a month when we travel for tournaments for our children. On the tour, Garrett, was so friendly and thorough in his explanations. The facility is really nice, clean, welcoming, and I love how it's tucked in away from town or lots of traffic. My dogs have not received very much socialization and the staff's patience and guidance was very reassuring. I love that, even if the dogs cannot handle being with the group while boarding, they still get outside time with a handler in a nice big and open space. read more

We recently got setup here. So far we have done a few daycare days and two short boarding stays. The facilities are very nice and nestled along a lovely hillside. The convenience of daycare drop off with no reservation is so easy! Boarding has been very easy to pre-arrange. The staff is attentive, professional, and friendly. We are new dog owners so it's comforting to be setup here anytime we need it. My dog seems to like it and comes back tired from playing and socializing. This review has been a long time coming due to a very unpleasant experience we had with Club K9 in December 2023. We needed to leave our Golden Retriever puppy there for a few nights because we were traveling. We dropped him off on Thursday, December 14th. By Friday night, Club K9 had left us a voicemail saying our dog was scratching and biting himself. On the morning of December 16th, I called and was told he was still itching. They suggested taking him to his vet, and I agreed for him to be taken at 8:00 AM. However, when I checked in the afternoon, they hadn't taken him yet, and he had been locked up all day. By then, my puppy's vet was closed, so they chose another vet to take him to. When I returned on Monday, December 18th, my puppy was in terrible shape. I had to take him straight from Club K9 to the vet. The whole ordeal ended up costing me over $1000. The worst part was that Club K9 showed no sympathy or offered any apology. They even suggested my puppy might have had these symptoms before I left him, which was not true. He was a perfectly happy and healthy puppy when I left him, and I returned to find him sick and unhappy. read more

We recently went on an 8 day camping trip where there was extremely active bear in the campgrounds every day and night for the last 60 days, so, I decided to board our three dogs instead of taking them along. I have never boarded any of my dogs before, and did some research through Yelp and other sites. Club K-9 Fremont-Sunol came up with very high ratings, so we called to make an appointment to discuss possibly boarding our senior dog, and two puppies under a year old. We arrived for our appointment and were greeted outside where they took our dogs (to be evaluated for their temperament with staff as well as if they'd be a good fit for socializing with other dogs in the play areas). We took a tour of the facilities and everything looked really good. I liked how much supervision the dogs all seemed to have (especially the people to dog ratios in the group play areas) as well as the cleanliness, and full access we had to each area with our tour. There didn't seem to be any area that was "staff only" or places kept hidden from our prying eyes :-) After going over the boarding and daycare options, we left for a few hours so the dogs could play with the other dogs under supervision in order to evaluate whether group play was a good fit, or if separate daily play time would be more appropriate. It was great to know that all passed all evaluations with flying colors. This facility exceeded my expectations far more than I could have imagined! Since we were not camping in a location where we could be contacted in any way, they were perfectly fine with me giving emergency authorization to someone else, and they also volunteered to send updates and pictures to that contact as well as us to have when we returned back to cell phone signal. They kept her informed and when all of the dogs weren't eating very much (probably cause they were a bit stressed since it was a first experience for us all), the team spent extra time with them to encourage them to eat and ensure they were getting adequate food intake. When we arrived to pick them up, they'd been bathed, and all their bedding we provided had been laundered and put back together for us. That was an unexpected and wonderful surprise! I highly recommend this facility (I've never been to the other location that I believe is in San Ramon), but the Fremont-Sunol is absolutely wonderful from the staffing to the facilities themselves. The only thing that would make it better from a pet parent perspective is if there were cameras you could pull up to see your babies...however....I'm sure that would really up the pricing, and I feel comfortable enough with the quality of staffing and efficiency with cleanliness and protocols for the dogs utilizing their services, I'd rather see the prices stay as reasonable as they are! We paid a similar cost to keep my mother-in-law's one dog for only 3 days at a veterinary boarding facility (no medical conditions) as we did for all three dogs for 8 days!! Thank you so much Club K-9 Fremont-Sunol! We will be returning and recommending you to everyone we know who may need boarding and/or daycare services in the area!!! I'm also attaching some of the pictures from their email updates where you can see the large area that they have for supervised individual playtime the dogs get every day. It's amazing to see our senior dog playing and running around with someone other than us at a strange place since she tends to be a bit anxious in new experiences and locations. read more

Extremely appreciative of the team here! The entire staff is extremely friendly, informative and most importantly, they really do care. Everyone I've come in contact with is so genuine and I truly appreciate who caring they've been with Corby, my pup. You can definitely tell in the tone and care of the team here that they genuinely care for our pets; even just watching how they interact during pickup/drop off and over the phone. I've been taking my puppy, Corby here since he was 4 months old (1st daycare evaluation which is complimentary and a few nights of boarding). Every time I pick up Corby, he is cheerful, happy and most importantly tired (in the best way)! On his 1st day of daycare, the team provided an update by email and sent photos. This made my anxiety of leaving him for the first time really be at ease. Most important to me is how much this team really cares. The small things matter and I can't emphasize how much I appreciate their excellent customer service. They even sent me a hand written card in the mail to thank me for having Corby stay and they can't wait to see him again! His next boarding stay is coming up while I attend a wedding and I have some free daycare coupons; so I'll definitely be back in the near future. The mountain of five star reviews is not an exaggeration. This is a long overdue review for Club k9 in Sunol - I have taken my senior shepherd Daisy here many times for daycare and overnight boarding. My dog loves people, so the 1:1 care model really suited her. Once I came back to pick her up earlier than expected and I saw a staff member sitting in the grass with her giving her pets and belly rubs. Daisy always walks in and walks out happy. Even with all the construction happening, customer service never skipped a beat. Lucas often came out to greet us as soon as we parked and he was always so helpful, professional, and friendly. Hannah was also incredibly sweet and it was easy to tell Daisy loved her. The initial tour was great, I would recommend asking to see the daycare kennels too because they are different from the overnight boarding kennels - they are outdoors so make sure to speak with the staff if your dog is sensitive to the elements. They are willing to make accommodations the best they can. Around the time I needed to board my dog, I read a lot of reviews saying "I had to board my dog for the longest time yet and I was nervous but it was GREAT" and it was true. I had to board her for five nights and it was the longest time I had spent away from my dog since I got her, and they sent me photo updates daily and answered my questions. I packed her bed for her and all her medications and they were really diligent with following instructions. We miss this place a lot - we have since moved so we aren't able to come back so much, but highly highly recommend this place, it gave me such peace of mind to know my dog is taken care of when everything else in life is so hectic. We took our 2 dogs here for some days when my daughter got married. New ownership but I could not be happier. They sent us pictures of them while we were away and that just gave me major peace and tranquillity knowing they looked happy. An absolute positive experience at this facility and my dog, Ryder, loves this place; he would jump out of my truck and totally forgets about me... For the past year, I had to leave town for work quite a bit. I called numerous boarding facilities and none of them would take my Mal because he isn't neutered. I have tried Wag Hotel but they locked Ryder in for about 10 hours a day and it was not fair for a high energy breed to go through that; I can tell Ryder hated that place too. I absolutely love this "pet hotel", as I like to refer to it. The kennel "rooms" are so comfy for my girls. I so appreciate the fact that the rooms are not like cages. Walls, clear room doors and their own attached dog run! All the comforts more like home. My girls always come back happy and stress free. From the very first time I brought them in for a stay. I love how professional the staff is and how personable they are with my girls. I have a senior dog and they really take care to make sure she is comfortable and spoiled. Both my girls make it clear when I pick them up that they got the attention they enjoy when they are with me as well. I also bring my girls in to have their nails cut now. My younger pup has a wild time with this but Rachel and the staff have the touch! They get her done in a flash! Their valet set up for pick up and drop off is wonderful! Facilities are ok which is why I will give 2 stars. But, customer service and questionable treatment is the downfall for the review. Starting with treatment. I sent my Dog here multiple times before finding a new kennel. Every time they returned they seemed timid. Customer service was decent. But, Staff had some condescending comments for my Dog. Specifically saying they were "overly aggressive" and "I would not have this Dog around any of my Kid's." Well, I have 3 Kid's, many other Family members who regularly visit. This Dog has never showed aggression, nor ever come close to attacking anything period. This Dog has been to Puppy obedience, and even spent 2 months at advance off leash training. So for a Staff Member to say the Dog was aggressive, attempted to "bite" them, and put their Staff in fear, and denied the Dog to return until they are evaluated? I would have to question how they handled the Dog as a result. If what they said had any truth, the Dog would be gone. I would not let anyone or animal around my Children (all under 8) if there was any risk. read more

I really started off to like this place and knew about their lack of cameras. I was told from the beginning that we receive phone call updates and text messages with photos when our dog boards with them. In the beginning this made me feel comfortable. The first time that I boarded my dog with them it was only for 24 hours and I received no phone call or no pictures. I thought this was OK since it was only 24 hours. At pickup the worker had little to say about how my dog did other then good. But the next time I had my dog stay for almost 4 days and I had to call every single day for an update. I asked every single day for pictures and never received one picture even though the worker said they would send one. One day I called and was told that my dog was taken out of the play area but I never received a phone call. You would think that if your dog was taken out of the play area they would inform you. If I had never called I would've never known and I would've been charged for the day. When I was informed of him being removed from the play area they told me I would not be charged for the play day but we were still charged in the end. I was very frustrated with the lack of communication and decided to let it go at pick up because I was so frustrated and done with the excuses. When I picked him up I mentioned that I called every single day because I was not communicated with and was not sent any pictures. The workers response was that the pictures were too blurry. Any pictures would have been better than none, my dog stayed with them for four days. I really wanted to love this place but their lack of communication and excuses for my requests is what turns me away. Even when you call each day you usually have to call multiple times since they don't answer the phone all the time. I understand that they may be short staffed but if they do not call with updates or send pictures then they should answer the phone in a timely manner. As for how my dog was treated, he seems to be okay when we drop him off each time. We noticed that every time we pick him up though is very thirsty. I'm not sure on how his water is in the kennel or in the play yard but it is something we noticed with our dog. Lastly their system for boarding reservations needs some adjustments. For both boarding days I scheduled in advance and received emailed confirmation. Upon drop off I was told I did not have a reservation, now in the moment this caused anxiety. This happened both times we went to board our dog. Luckily they had space but waiting outside while the worker goes inside to figure it out causes anxiety. Hopefully in the future they will make some changes like adding cameras or adding better forms of communication so that I can make this a reliable place to take my dog. read more

Club K9 Fremont - Sunol really is a resort for your lovely dog! I initially was going to board my little chihuahua at the Wag Hotel but had a bad feeling after speaking to their unprofessional staff. Can't blame them though, if it wasn't for that experience, I wouldn't have found Club K-9. I spoke to Rachel to inquire about boarding, and she was extremely friendly and professional over the phone. She spent a lot of time talking about their ranch and even welcomed me to a tour! I was able to book over the phone and was welcomed to cancel anytime if I found the place unfit for my chihuahua, Thor. On the day of the tour I was greeted by a lady and was welcomed inside. She toured me throughout the facility and I couldn't help but notice that the dogs look so happy. Each dog has their own "room" and not locked into a small little box. Each room has an outside caddy for your dog to get fresh air (I like to think of it as a mini backyard haha). It was my first time leaving Thor at a dog hotel and while I was nervous at first, the staff assured me that it will be fine, and it was!! I was able to leave 2 of his toys, favorite blanket, and special food. Picking up/Checking out was extremely easy as well. As I arrived, another lady welcomed me while I was in my car and the rest of was history. She brought Thor and his belongings out to me! I even got a nice little report card for him that all went well. It's been about a week since his stay and he didn't developed any issues. So anyways, this place is hands down the ABSOLUTE BEST dog ranch out there. How can you not love acres of land and the home-y touch? We took a tour of the facility and it appears very nice. The dogs look well cared for. Unfortunately, we're not able to use their facility as our dog does not get along with other dogs. It Was disappointing to learn since the website indicates they can essentially care for all sorts of dogs. If we boarded our dog, he would be taken out for individual playtime. However, if we were only seeking daycare, he would be kept in his kennel the whole time because they don't have the resources/staff to do one on one playtime. Not sure why they can accommodate with an overnight stay and not on a daycare stay but that's their policy. The facility looks clean and the dogs seem to be well taken care of. Disappointed that we won't be able to use this facility as it does seem like a nice place. read more
