The manager just called me....said I still had a balance on my account which concluded eight months…read moreago. We did have some insurance problems because they were not paying my $40 copay even though I was in case management and that should be waived, but those were all settled in August. Manager just called (12/14(18) and was very obnoxious and nasty. Said I still had a balance of $19 (?) a session, that they had called and left messages in September and October (they had not!) and that they were referring my case to a collection agency. I then called CareFirst, who called the center. The woman I spoke with at the center would not even talk to the woman from CareFirst. After going over each claim it as determined to be CareFirst's clerical error. I am disgusted at being threatened without cause. Perhaps she should clean toilets for a living instead of dealing with customers. The manager here treats clients badly.

I had experienced a change in my digestive system after international travel and Gina has helped me immensely! She has also recommended meal changes which have relieved me of fatigue, anxiety and my focus level has improved. After treatment, they offer complimentary water or tea as well which is nice. This place came highly recommended to me. Apparently Sarah's "girls," as she calls them, look in on…read moremany residents at Augsburg facilities. I was looking to have care of multiple levels. I needed cooking and cleaning twice a week by lower level healthcare professionals (really just capable, kind, people), and then I knew I would need visits by a nurse practitioner on perhaps a monthly basis when I had health crises. Sarah, the owner, appears to be a CNA or layperson. My understanding is that she used to do home health care at one point before deciding to go into business for herself. At any rate, she was pleasant enough, but the process for arranging appointments soon proved cumbersome. She has no electronic method for either making or confirming appointments. This meant that it took four phone calls for each visit we set up. In addition, we set up visits that she then changed by mistake, and subsequently raised her voice at me about for an extended period of time. Overall, I spent more than 100 minutes on the phone with her, and only saw one provider one time. This was irritating in general, but one day, when my pain was extremely high (definite 8-I had taken all the pain medicine I could, I was lying on multiple ice packs, and I still was in burning nerve agony and writhing with nausea), she called and insisted on a drawn out conversation to go over the schedule yet again. I told her I just couldn't. Not that day. But i could text. And that I probably would be able to talk the next day, but not right then. She told me she couldn't be my provider if I refused to carry out business over the phone. That "everyone is texting" and that's not how she conducts business. I don't know what sorts of patients she has worked with in the past, but obviously she hasn't worked with patients in severe pain before or those patients have had caretakers who dealt with her for them. I texted her a copy of a pain scale that delineates what happens at pain of 8 and 9. Conversations become impossible at those levels. But no, she "had been caring for patients for 25 years," understood pain management, and suggested I get a nurse specifically to manage my pain. I do not need a nurse to come to my house to manage my pain. I have a team of doctors, nurses, and physical therapists already doing all they can. What I need is someone to come to my home to help me do things I cannot do for myself, and to do so without adding to my problems. I expect "regular" people to have difficulty with the concept of pain, but I am saddened that a home nursing agency cannot comprehend what a pain patient would need. I will be looking for new agencies. This time I will hire a more professional cleaning and cooking outfit, and will hire a much more professional home nurse. Perhaps it is my fault for believing that someone without a solid understanding of my illness would be able to have empathy toward me, and thus adequately meet my needs. I will specifically look for a nursing agency run by a MD, DO, or NP--someone who might realize that the pain of my illness is known to be worse than that of cancer and just about any other disease out there. And when I say I just can't, I really mean I can't.

I called several home care providers who told me it would take as many as five days to find care givers. I needed someone to drive me home and begin care the next day. We Care could provide what I needed. They helped me complete the necessary forms, line by line. I was extremley anxious about being home. Diane and Sonia were able to support and encourage me through my anxious moments. They provided both physical and emotional support as I adjusted to being home. In addition, all my laundry was done, my bed changed, dishes washed, and my meals were prepared. They both went "above and beyond". I valued their companionship as I adjusted to being on my own. They became like surrogate family members, and I appreciate their caring and kindness above all.
