The Oscar Wilde Bar is a lovely spot for high tea in the heart of London. I was running a bit…read morebehind schedule (*schedule* like how the Brits say it), about 30 minutes late, due to some poor planning and a bit of traffic. The restaurant called me and I returned their call to let them know I was still on my way. I felt like a total jerk for arriving so late, but the staff was incredibly welcoming. I decided to go solo for high tea, wanting to treat myself. They found me the perfect table where I could people-watch and enjoy the piano music from a comfortable distance. This high tea room is absolutely stunning and was made to be photographed. My waiter was incredibly patient and didn't judge me when I was taking pictures. In fact, he said that's what this room is meant for. There were a wide variety of teas, and I think the teas were the best part of the experience. The pastries were also delicious, but I didn't love any of the finger sandwiches. I'll definitely be back soon. Thanks for being so gracious despite my tardiness!

Great pastries and tasty savories and of course lovely teas - throw in a bottle of bubbly and you will not be eating dinner ! Service is good, the pianist is top notch, all in all a wonderful experience. You have to come to afternoon tea here, especially if you're visiting London.

Drinks are on special until 8pm. Seating for dinner isn't until 8:30ish. Cocktail list is extensive and fun, and come in lovely cut-crystal glassware. We did the dinner & show ticket. We were really hungry as food didnt start until 9pm. Starters were decent, but the main vegetarian course (risotto) was like a bowl of bland soupy rice. I didn't eat more than 3 bites of it. Dessert was cheesecake and good. There are performances throughout the night, and not a bad table in the house. If you just get the "show" ticket, you will be on tall stools in the back. There was a lot of great dancing, some arial acts, and a seriously impressive magician. There were also some drunken hen parties adding to the entertainment- it was impressive how the staff kept them from disrupting things. Afterward, there was a dj in the lounge to keep the party going. Despite the terrible main course, I still thought it was a really fun night out.

This was the perfect choice of drinks, dinner and entertainment all in one. Arrive around 7 pm for pre-dinner drinks and entertainment. Then be shown to your table at 8. The entertainment troupe is outstanding. So glad we made this choice for a night out in London!
