We stopped by on a whim and found that they were running a promo of buy 1, get the second pair 40% off. Sadly for the Mister, there wasn't a single size 14 in the store but for smaller sizes in men's they seemed to have a pretty deep selection - probably 40% of the store is men's. For me, I had at least 200 pairs to pick from and found 4 pairs. In addition to the extra 40% off 2 pairs, 3 of the 4 rang up less than the marked price - so I paid $150 for 4 pairs of good quality shoes. Super score! Staff is helpful and will point you to deals. They also give you a punch card where if you spend $300, you get $30 back. Yay shoes!

The amount refunded from my order was less than what I "thought" it should be/what I paid for them, so I assumed it was because of the kohl cash I received for my order was factored in. I had no idea, until I went to use my Kohls cash today, that it was invalid. The associate in Johnson creek that handled my returned did not mention my Kohls cash was no longer valid. This is very poor customer service and I feel like I was totally "ripped off".

And then they sent it directly to the outlet mall. There are some items like that at the Columbia store. Odd colors, designs you can't picture being sold at full retail. For example, pairs of plaid shorts, in bright summery colors with matching tops, that came down to the knee in form-fitting fashion -- they were essentially hot pants. I have to ask, what were these doing at a sporting-goods store? I can't imagine them selling well to Columbia's target market. But, there are also plenty of items that fit more squarely within the Columbia brand. Such as, a white linen shirt with button-up sleeves, perfect for lightweight sun protection on the water or when camping; and a pair of nylon shorts for whitewater rafting (when they won't let you wear cotton on the river). There are plenty of "quirky" items -- normal Columbia items such as warm winter coats, in slightly odd colors that obviously didn't sell well. For instance, I got a really nice sun hat for $6 (I think the original price was like $40). Even better if it's your favorite color -- this one was purple! I did not check out the shoe selection but they do have them. All sorts of camping gear as well. Like most outlet stores, you may not find exactly what you're looking for at this one, but you will find plenty that you weren't looking for -- and sometimes that's the best part.

But that was many years ago and I've been disappointed ever since. However, I did luck out at the Johnson Creek Puma! I have giant feet and am also cheap--a bad combination--so there's rarely much for me but I just so happened to find a pair of Puma Smash V2s in size 14 for $22! They are almost all white with a hint of green, which makes me nervous about keeping them clean, but I am definitely going to try!
