Review Highlights - Nike Clearance Store - Johnson Creek

It seems less conservative than the outlets in Gurnee and Pleasant Prairie.

Date of visit: August 30, 2024…read more I have a friend that is a big Under Armour fan and I try to score deals for his birthday or Christmas whenever I can, the outlet being a great place to try and find some things for him. I do occasionally rock a piece of UA gear myself, you never know what you might find! As per usual, there wasn't anyone out on the salesfloor assisting anyone, but I am used to that so it didn't bother me all that much. I didn't find anything for my friend but I did find some no show socks at a pretty good price with the half off sale they were running. Unfortunately the cashier did not think I was hip enough to have a UA Rewards account (or could have given a good god damn) and did not ask me to enter information for the UA Rewards, which I didn't realize until after i exited the store. That meant I had to go online and request this manually, a big waste of my time.

But when we go to Madison we have stopped here. They have lots of stock for women, men, boys and girls. They don't stock every style but they have enough to walk out of there spending hundreds. Lots of changing rooms, clean, organized and good service. Service isn't outstanding but it is good. Every time we have gone here in the past 6 months they have had at least 40-50 % off of the sticker price. I can't find that price anywhere locally. Yes they may have last years style but if you can live with that the price can't be beat.

I've been to this store more than a dozen times and have purchased more than a dozen shirts. A nice…read moreselection if you come at the right time of the year for what you want. I always look at the bargain racks and as usual they never have my size in what I want or they do and its some crazy colour or pattern. The dry-fit shirts I have, about 8 from Columbia have all lasted me 3-5 years so far. I have yet to throw one out. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

It often seems like outlet malls are where the designers' also-rans end up. You know, the clothing…read moreitem that seemed so cute on paper, but when it came back from the Asian factory, real and three-dimensional, everyone standing around as it was taken out of the box just said, "Whoops." And then they sent it directly to the outlet mall. There are some items like that at the Columbia store. Odd colors, designs you can't picture being sold at full retail. For example, pairs of plaid shorts, in bright summery colors with matching tops, that came down to the knee in form-fitting fashion -- they were essentially hot pants. I have to ask, what were these doing at a sporting-goods store? I can't imagine them selling well to Columbia's target market. But, there are also plenty of items that fit more squarely within the Columbia brand. Such as, a white linen shirt with button-up sleeves, perfect for lightweight sun protection on the water or when camping; and a pair of nylon shorts for whitewater rafting (when they won't let you wear cotton on the river). There are plenty of "quirky" items -- normal Columbia items such as warm winter coats, in slightly odd colors that obviously didn't sell well. For instance, I got a really nice sun hat for $6 (I think the original price was like $40). Even better if it's your favorite color -- this one was purple! I did not check out the shoe selection but they do have them. All sorts of camping gear as well. Like most outlet stores, you may not find exactly what you're looking for at this one, but you will find plenty that you weren't looking for -- and sometimes that's the best part.

It absolutely cracks me up that Old Navy has an outlet. I mean, it's pretty much the cheapest…read moreclothing a person can buy and yet, it needs to be cheaper? In fact, I found the outlet here to be a much nicer shopping experience than the regular ON at Brookfield Square. It's a big store, much less crowded and everything seemed very organized. There were plenty of staff on hand to assist if needed. ON clothes are definitely not ones you're going to wear for the rest of your days, but if you want a $4 T-shirt or $20 jeans that are reasonably fashionable, they've got you covered (literally). Prices are somewhat discounted from the regular stores - but again, the initial prices start out pretty cheap so I don't think they have a ton of room to move down.

Things were well-organized and clearly labeled and the floor plan is such that you aren't climbing on top of other shoppers while you browse. Stock did seem a bit more limited than my local store, but considering it's an "outlet" that doesn't surprise me. While there were fewer items of each size, I was able to find my size in almost everything I looked at. The women's clearance area wasn't very full, but my boyfriend found almost everything he bought in the men's clearance. I can't complain - 40% off is pretty great for current styles. Despite buying at the outlet, we were still awarded Super Cash and the items are returnable to their regular retail storefronts. Like their other stores, there are some red-tag clearance items that are at final markdown and non-returnable, but it says so on the tag and, at least in our case, the cashier asked my boyfriend if he had tried the shirt on and explained that it was final sale. He hadn't tried it on, but since it was his size and came out to $3 (down from a tag price of $29.99) he felt comfortable taking a gamble. As someone who shops at Old Navy for most things (you can find the other half of my wardrobe at Target), this store alone makes the trek out to JC worth it.

Everything is neatly placed (and hasn't been looked through), very few people are in the store and there are plenty of staff available to help you if you need it. When I think of outlet, I think of bargain prices and I would not categorize this as bargain prices. However, they usually always have sales going on and if you are a Gap/Old Navy/Banana Republic Card holder there are usually more deals that you can get as far as percentage off. Shopping clearance in this store is hit or miss on how great the deals are. I have found that if you hit the store just right you can walk out with some clothes marked down to a couple of bucks. However, you usually have to be able to wear XS and XL to get these great deals as most of the M and L sizes are gone and be willing to wear last seasons clothes. They have a decent baby/kids section and there are always good deals in there. For me personally, Gap is the place I like to get my jeans as they usually fit the best. They are comfortable and when you get them on a great deal really can make it worth the trip. If you are at Johnson Creek, check it out and you might just find a great deal you can't pass up.
