I moved to Alden in April of 2025 and somehow I have managed to become a regular at Under One Roof in what can only be described as record-breaking time. Honestly, I think I'm in there more than anywhere else in town... okay, maybe second only to the coffee shop -- but still. Priorities. Recently one of the girls who works there asked, "Were you in here recently?" My response: "Yes... but you're going to have to be more specific." At this point I'm basically on a first-name basis with the clearance rack. This place is truly a magical hybrid of boutique, consignment shop, and small-town treasure hunt. They have clothes for kids, teens, and adults -- some new, some consignment -- and the consignment pieces are so pristine you'd swear the previous owner bought them, lovingly removed the tags, whispered affirmations over them, and then never wore them once. And it doesn't stop at clothing. Oh no. There's furniture, small appliances, baby items, exercise gear, bedding, health and beauty goodies (from really good brands, too). You name it, they probably have it. And if they don't today... check back next week, because the inventory changes constantly. One of my favorite things is how active they are on Facebook -- posting new arrivals, sale alerts, and little contests so you can plan your visit like a highly strategic shopping mission. If you live in or anywhere near Alden and you haven't been here yet, I don't know what you're doing with your life -- but I gently and lovingly suggest you redirect yourself to Under One Roof immediately. consigning for a couple years, no problems. This January, I dropped two new winter coats with them and some other household items. This week I called to retrieve only the new winter coats and they tell me there is no balance on my account - and they do not have them. They further went on to state, they had nothing "tagged" for me since last December.... you literally cannot randomly drop off items, you need an appointment which I had January 26, 2026! The owner had her manager call me, who I had spoke to about these coats twice. Since they take your items and you get no ticket, ...they win! Bad business practice. I've been bringing my dog in with me for months. I always carry him, one day when I was holding him, the owner rudely told me I need to take him out of the store because he is not visibly wearing a service dog badge. Per NYS laws, dogs do not have to present their badge, and he was in my arms not bothering a thing. Staff has never said anything to me prior to this, and in fact have asked to pet him. I won't be returning due to the rudeness and assumptions that she made. read more

A lovely little jewel box of a store specializing in high quality closeout items (at very reasonable prices) as well as clean used clothing, shoes and accessories. Dressing rooms are provided. We found a great full-size memory foam mattress topper at an unbelievable price. On another visit, the sidewalk was completely filled with rack upon rack of children's Halloween costumes. Under One Roof carries a great selection of toys and games for babies and school aged children. I especially like the selection of super hero briefs for our little guys. There's a great selection of chic household decor items, beautifully displayed and constantly updated with incoming merchandise. honestly started coming here for years never had a bad experience. started consigning with them and noticed some hostility towards me when i brought things in that were in great condition even brand new with tags. i was unable to bring my consignments in so i had my mom drop them off for me and she was screamed at "for wasting there time" sorry isn't it your literal job to look through peoples consignments!!! maybe learn a little respect towards your customers and you would get more recognition for your store. it's literally the two older women that own the store that are the most disrespectful people that work there. everyone else is fantastic and is so friendly. do better. read more

I have started to watch Reels on Instagram, which makes me waste more time than I really have. While watching a Reel, I learned that Target sells overstock to stores around the country. I Googled it and learned there are 2 of these stores in the area and Under One Roof is one of them. I stopped here on a Saturday at around 2pm and the place had customers. The store also has second-hand clothing for sale, but I wasn't in for that aspect, just the Target overstock. I ended up finding a few things. The employee was very helpful and right when I walked in alerted me that they were having a sale, and to take the piece of paper that explains what is on sale, etc. Their stock is constantly changing and they upload photos on their Facebook page. The store is clean, which is welcomed. There is a parking lot for convenient parking. Remember to bring your reusable bags in. They also have shopping carts in case you fill your arms with too much goods. read more

This store is amazing. I had seen their advertising on Facebook, and decided to scope it out. It's very easy to get to, the building is really nice and new! And the goods inside... SO GREAT! This was seriously like shopping Target clearance, which I understand they get from overstocks of Wayfair and Target. We got all sorts of Threshold items for so cheap! There's an awesome housewares section, and then there are a ton of clothes, which are some consignment, some overstock. My wife found several LuLaRoe plus size items. Some Alex & Ani bracelets, awesome purses, etc. Our shopping cart was OVERFLOWING by the time we checked out. As if all of these inexpensive items weren't great as is, they have colored Xs on each tag, which indicates a further discount. Seriously, it was great and we saved a ton of money! We also found items that we could have purchased from Target at regular price, but that were deeply discounted here. The ladies working were SO NICE and helpful! If you're ever in Alden, check this place out. And even if you're not often in Alden, make a little trip to visit anyway. The town is cute too! read more
