If I could leave less stars, I would every time I call their employees answer the phone frustrated angry like I'm bothering them. I just called to get a quote for two weeks. Boarding and the Sammy answered the phone and abruptly told me $60 a day very short and very nasty and then expected me to figure out what the cost was where I've called other places, and before they were happily giving the total cost for the told very abruptly that I had to do a trial for three days which I understand, but the way she was with me and so I couldn't imagine her watching my pet or being anywhere near my pet. I would rethink going to this place for any of the every time I've called. They have been nothing but nasty and very unprofessional and overcharges. I go to Hound Dog pet hotel. They are way cheaper and way I would never never never go there. Do not go to this facility as they are unprofessional and nasty. are fake as well. read more

They automatically told us that they were going to have to be shaved without even checking the dogs. They are truly just there for the money because they charge more when the dogs get shaved. I took my two dogs in both got shaved and weren't even matted. read more

We had a truly terrible experience with Under One Woof. Customer service is awful; the employees (especially Sam) are extremely rude and outright disrespectful. It was shocking. Our dogs are pros at doggy daycare (we are regulars at our place where we live in Wisconsin), but we got married in Stillwater and needed a place for our two boys for a couple of days. Not only was this absurdly expensive for how unimpressive the set up is (~$650 for three nights), but they didn't listen to anything we said (trimmed their hair after their baths after we specifically told them NO haircut). We're also certain they didn't even attempt to give our dogs breakfast on their last day (we put their meals in baggies that explain which dog it's for, which meal it is, etc. so that the employees don't have to worry about measuring out food or anything), and when we picked up our boys, those bags were completely full and looked untouched. We picked our dogs up around 11:30 am and were chastised for showing up earlier than the approximated time we said we'd show up, and we're pretty certain it's because she hadn't fed our boys and didn't have a chance to hide the evidence. She scrambled to get everything together - keep in mind it wasn't busy, no one else was there, and we told her no need to rush, but she was rude nonetheless. It's literally a cement room with a couple of toys laying around. Really, don't bring your dogs here. There's a high probability you will pay a lot to be treated poorly, and if they're okay treating human customers like that to their face, I can only imagine what its like behind closed doors with animals who can't tell anyone what happened. Our dog, Indy loves this place. The staff is friendly and do a good job keeping the dogs in check (including Indy who likes to jump on people). We've used them for daycare and overnight stays when traveling numerous times. Indy is always very excited when we bring her in and can't wait to go play w the other doggos. Haven't used their grooming services, but the daycare side is legit. read more

I was super bummed about my overall experience with Under One Woof. I just moved up to Stillwater and had to find a new groomer for my doggie. I knew going into the appointment that they had a policy that they don't shave dogs with double coats (I have a Pomeranian/Yorkie mix). When I dropped him off, I explained that I understood this policy and asked if they could trim him up as short as they could for the summer. When I went to pick him up, I was asked to pay (and tip) before seeing my dog or the job they had done. I thought this was really odd. When they brought my dog out, I could hardly tell he had been trimmed other than his face and paws. It appeared they hadn't even taken his harness off. His feet and face were super choppy and uneven on top of it looking like he hadn't been trimmed anywhere else. With tip, my cost came to over $60. Super disappointed. Will be finding a better groomer moving forward. read more

They are honest in their feedback about your dog. They provide video feeds and a daily report card about your dog. Sadly our dog was not being on his best behavior so I worried about it the entire time we were gone and felt terrible when I went to pick him up. He is a puppy 6 months old and still jumps and humps. So I started this review when we had just moved from Minneapolis. Our doggy daycare in Minneapolis (Ruff Loves Dogs) was a life-saver when raising a puppy. This place was solid 3 stars and now it's gone down to 1. PROS: The two people we see most often during week days seem to love dogs and know our pup by name. She made a few doggy friends, specifically a beagle similar to her size. They close at a reasonable time that allows us to run errands after work. CONS: The 2 stars is for lack of flexibility, random fees, lack of water available, lack of entertainment and my dog no longer enjoying it after 6 months. Only 1-2 dog beds around. We often find our pup is usually laying on the ground when we pick her up. A few more Kuranda Beds would be nice. Even some plastic slides or things to climb would be good. These are all things that are standard at other daycares we've been to. First off, they charge $5 if you don't "call 2 hours in advance" but I personally haven't been able to get an answer on the phone with them and have only been able to leave messages. This rule is not on the website anywhere. Often my husband and I don't know what our schedules are like until the night before or the morning of! The $5 dollars seems like an extra fee for money scrounging. What's one more dog? The staffing is same no matter how many dogs anyways. There's only 1 or 2 people around for all those dogs. Just turn us away if there are too many dogs for the day instead of charging everyone $5 for not planning a day in advance! "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink." This couldn't be more true about dogs either. My dog usually doesn't drink a ton of water and definitely doesn't just drink water when I park her in front of her bowl. However she drinks an entire bowl of water when she gets home from Under One Woof. She also immediately poops outside when we get home BEFORE dinner which also tells me she isn't given sufficient time to do her business while at One Woof. Giving the dogs a "water break" is complete BS. Also a big money-scrounging rule: "All Packages expire 30 DAYS from purchase; any unused days will be forfeited. All prices subject to state sales tax." - This really grinds my gears. We only take her once a week, sometimes twice if we have something going on a Saturday. This also seems like just another rule to cheat people out of their money. It would be nice to buy an 8-pack of full days and use them overtime. There's no way we're going to use 8 visits in only 30 days but we certainly would over two. That's a lot of money to waste if you buy too many for 30 days. The owner commented on another review that also complained about this and said "The packages do expire in 30 days. The purpose of the package is so that the regular customers that come in a few times a week can save money." NO! The packages are designed to MAKE YOU money because you are the one that decided to make them expire. So don't act like you're trying to save your customers money. Other doggy daycares either don't have them ever expire or choose a reasonable time frame like 2 years. The icing on the cake of us no longer taking our dog to Under One Woof: We were always under the assumption that doggy daycares are a community and that the dogs have to be introduced into the community and all of them have to get along together. We noticed that our dog hasn't been coming home tired and that she had been put in the "small dog pen". They said it was because one bigger dog was "acting dominant over her". So my dog is punished because another dog can't behave? Although she is on the small side, 22 lbs, she loves every dog but small dogs like Yorkies or Maltases don't like to play as much as Beagles and Labs. So she is bored all day, doesn't get enough water, doesn't get enough play, and then we wasted $30+ on the whole thing. When you add it up, it's worth looking into hiring a dog walker instead of dealing with this much extra fees, mistreatment. We would rather drive into Minneapolis before work and take our girl somewhere she is happy and healthy. read more

I have been taking my Great Danes to Under One Woof since it was under different ownership as Paws and Claws - for almost 10 years. I initially started going because a Great Dane I had at the time had been showing aggression toward other dogs, and I was looking for ways to turn that around. All of my dogs have gone at least once per week, and often two or three times a week, since they were pups and the girls I have now are regularly complimented on how well behaved and well socialized they are. Kristi, Jacquelyn and Nicole have known 6 of my 7 Great Danes their whole lives - So I am so comfortable leaving my dogs in their care. The only negative comment I have is that I am not the biggest fan of their current location, and look forward to the day when they have a larger facility and some outdoor space - and I know Kristi has big plans in this regard. But, to tell you the truth, we tried a 'swankier' place a couple of years ago now when I went on a business trip - a place that was more convenient for me given my travel schedule - and my dogs didn't do as well. It would seem the "swankiness" really matters more to me than them - they like the place they know, with the people they've known their whole lives and their doggy friends. I also have all of their grooming done here now, and that has also been a big help - we have weekly 'spa days' for ear and teeth cleaning with toe trims as needed. The vet routinely complements me on how great their teeth and ears look. And two of my girls that our prone to ear infections have them much less frequently now that we have added this to their daycare schedule. Under one Woof has become part of our lives/routine and I recommend it highly. read more

I don't like this place and neither did my dog. He always cried and wanted to get away when I would drop him off. (In contrast, he couldn't wait to run and play at his former doggie daycare downtown. His tail would wag and he'd bounce around when he saw his handlers.) The staff always seemed harried- ALWAYS. No one can enjoy their work if the business is understaffed, and this may have contributed to crabby demeanor of the staff. I'll just add a list of cons: - Overpriced for the facility. It's small and the gates are rinky dink. The floors have chipped paint on them, which I'm sure could harm the dogs' feet. - Annoying package policy as they put a time limit on using them. - They don't put fresh water out for the dogs- there is NO WATER in the play area. They give them "water breaks," whatever that means. My dog would race to his water bowl and drink for over a minute each time we got home. - They insist on taking dogs outside to go to the bathroom, but it doesn't appear that they have an enclosed area for this. My perception is that they took my dog outside into the parking lot- the location is less than a block from a highway. Quite a risk for a small business, and anxiety-inducing for dog owners. - They felt entitled to put some dogs in diapers- disgusting and confusing for the dog. - Driving up to the huge windows, many of the dogs would just sit there staring out waiting for their owners. Positively depressing. - I brought my dog there for socialization and play. TWICE when I came to pick him up around 5PM he was in a kennel. I asked why and they said they often do that if they are cleaning up. There were other dogs running free. I asked if he had misbehaved and she said no. Unacceptable to kennel a dog at a full-play daycare. This was the last straw for me. **And essentially the owner's defensive reply down below confirms everything I stated in my review. Why even bother commenting if you're just going to say: "Yeah, I know we don't have an outside area and when we take your dog out to pee, he could run onto a highway. Not our fault!" Something has changed about the place. Seems like new staff or something. The last two times I was there they seemed mad or just not happy about working or seems like they don't even like dogs. I didn't recognize the staff and they were rude. The staff always knows my dog by name and have always been nice. But when I came to pick her up, the girl said rudely, "Oh are you here for that husky?" The last time my girl stayed, she bit one of the staff where she bruised. The staff member said its ok and that a lot of the dogs nip so it's totally normal. Thing is, mine really doesn't nip. As much as you play around or do things with her, she doesn't bite. I started to get worried thinking something must have happened for her to bite. I have always been told by the staff that mine dog has never been a problem. That was our last time. read more

Kristi is the owner and the best groomer ever. I used to drive from Woodbury to Hudson, WI to obtain her services for our miniature schnauzer. I followed her to Stillwater when she opened Under One Woof. Our Bijou ended up being blind and diabetic before we had to put her down a few months ago. Kristi always made sure she was comfortable in surroundings that she could only hear and not see. When I emailed her that Bijou was gone, she sent a hearfelt email back. It was so thoughful, she is someone who truly cares about the customer. I will definitely be going back to Kristi in the future when we are able to welcome a new puppy into our hearts... read more

Under One Woof is a great place to take your dog. Everyone is friendly and always excited to see your animal come back. We utilize the grooming but have also used the daycare. Cassandra is our favorite groomer :) But have also had great results with Kristy! I would recommend them to my friends and family. read more
