My first experience with Up, Up, & Away was a balloon display - during COVID, mind you - for our youngest daughter at her 9th birthday. The colors were phenomenal and she simply LOVED unicorns back then. The display was sensational and held up very well in October weather, making for a golden memory for our family. But over the years, I have followed some of their artistic displays through social media and word-of-mouth, since my wife is friends with the owner, Johnna (and I'm not a paid spokesman). Whether it is celebrating milestones, sportsball, civic events, or just media happenings, Up, Up, & Away delivers extraordinary work. Well, we complicated it by marrying alllll the way out at Powell Gardens, and then doing to reception alllll the way back in town at Lidia's. Lots of driving! In addition to that, it was important to us (ok mostly me) to have a Zero Waste wedding- with stations set up all over the house/venues for waste to go to recycling, compost, Terracycle, burn-ables for our fire pit, etc. etc. It required a lot more work, and LaTasha helped to make it happen! LaTasha was CONSTANTLY on her feet, thinking ahead, anticipating my needs, conducting our rehearsal (we didn't know what the hell we were doing!!), picking up breakfast for us on the big day, wrangling folks for photos, collaborating with the photographer, making our yummy but somewhat boring looking cake POP with flowers and handmade bird toppers, video-ing all the toasts... I mean seriously, what can't she do?! She even helped me sneak a nerf bullet into my bestie-of-honor's bouquet so that I could surprise the groom with a silly inside joke during our vows when I handed him a flower with the nerf bullet tied to the stem... GOT HIM!!! Everyone in our families and close friend group admired LaTasha's hard work and cheerful can-do attitude. She fit right into the energy of our big day. She thinks of EVERYTHING. I absolutely loved working with her, and the amount of stress she saved me was just so impactful- my main goal for the weekend was to direct all our guests' well-meaning logistical questions to her, so that I didn't have to think or make decisions- I could just divorce my phone for the day and be present. It was one hell of a weekend. It would not have been as breezy and fun without LaTasha there to guide things.

She was incredibly organized, advocated for my mom to make sure all her needs and preferences were met, coordinated things with vendors. She made sure my mom did not have to lift a FINGER on her wedding day! She was with us for the rehearsal on Saturday directing to make sure everyone knew what was happening and from early morning on the wedding day until the last light was out at the venue in the evening. LaTasha helped with and ran everything from set-up to tear down, she kept detailed lists of every single thing we had for decor and who it belonged to and where it needed to end up. She is also one of the nicest people EVER while also being a hard-ass and making sure stuff gets DONE - coordinating with other vendors and also bridal party all while letting the bride enjoy her day (which is, seriously, exactly what you need in a wedding coordinator) I do not know how we would have gotten through the rehearsal and wedding day without her, not to mention all the times she talked my mom down about stressors and issues leading up to her wedding! After pick up and getting prepared for reception my bartenders and I had to go through and re-wash almost all the 300 plus glasses that were rented. We were told they would be washed and ready to go upon pick up, but that clearly wasn't the case. Just more attention to the products they are renting out would be great. It just added a little extra time in preparation for an already stressful day.

Ultrapom did the beautiful decor for my wedding at River Market Event Place…read more Unfortunately, my Saturday wedding fell on a weekend when both the space and Ultrapom had booked multiple weddings. On the Sunday following my wedding, Ultrapom and my venue - without my knowledge - left up my exact same wedding tent decor for another wedding to use, free of charge. They reused my lighting, draping, tent and chandeliers - all rented from several different companies. Seeing photos from another wedding using my carefully planned, multi vendor-sourced decor was devastating to me. Planning a unique wedding was something I spent months and months on - and one of the few things that distracted me from being diagnosed with cancer the year of my wedding. I wanted my wedding day to be perfect, which it was, but I also wanted it to be uniquely ours. In the days following my wedding I reached out to both vendors trying to understand how this could have happened. Ultrapom and River Market have not only refused to admit fault and apologize, but denied me reimbursement and instead rudely blamed me for inconveniencing the Sunday wedding that was "forced to incorporate my decor into their day." In our communications on this, Ultrapom said there was no way my decor could have been taken down in time before the Sunday wedding and even if it could have been - it would have come at a hefty price. These excuses were only told to me after the company used my paid-for design for another wedding. And unfortunately, Ultrapom posted a photo on Instagram indicating the lights took one person only one hour to take down with one ladder. The post was not only comically insensitive, but clearly showed this could have quickly been done in between weddings. I was shocked, saddened and truly disappointed by my communication with Ultrapom while trying to fairly resolve this issue. I requested an explanation for how this could have happened, and later following many excuses, some compensation for having paid for a beautiful tent to be used at a stranger's wedding. My phone calls and voicemails to try and talk it through went unanswered. After thousands of dollars spent with Ultrapom, the business will not even return a phone call. I hope this review informs other couples what they may face once the checks are cashed and your event is done. Thank you to Ultrapom - your work was beautiful, but your customer service for unhappy clients is appalling. Ultrapom is clearly booking more weddings than they can handle - to the detriment of clients. I would advise any couples trying to plan a unique wedding to be clear in communications here. Ask who else will be using the items you pay for. Otherwise, like me, you could end up lending your ideas, vision, and of course money, to whatever event follows yours. Good luck!
