Does not have communication with employees to be open on time. Had to go to another location to game. At times there is no heat at all. Has a very hard time keeping product on the shelves, and not from selling out. So I can't say much about the price with nothing to really buy. So I stopped recommending this store to my friends , and never look forward to going there read more

Sadly when I was there they were packing up their stock to go to a festival so I didn't get a great look at their selection....But, the staff was beyond helpful and informative. They went so far as to recommend a different game shop that might have what we were looking for. You could tell they really cared about the customer experience and the hobby in general. I've been attending Lorcana league Wednesday night for a 6 months. The league isn't technically ran by the manager it's ran by a few players is the league (conflict of interest) for whatever reason. Long story short the players who are running our league currently have changed standard league rules to some made up honor system so their friends (that are not such good players in the league) can basically cheat to win promos and such over players that actually earned them. The store also was overcharging on set release box's and ran out of stock first night of league, but every other game shop in town was stocked. Our set champs were a mess. They manager was letting contestants set brackets. Local players also didn't want players from other areas entering for chance of not winning promo even though it's stated in the rules anyone is welcome. So if you are interest in dealing with some dude named Steve wanting to trade you all your valuable cards for nothing or how Trump is gonna destroy the earth for 3 hours Underhill is the spot every Wednesday. read more

This is a great store with a very large selection of board games and other games, including Settlers of Catan and all of its expansions, Dominion and all of its expansions, and everything in between - Stone Age, Seven Wonders, Agricola, Ticket to Ride, Power Grid, etc, etc, etc. Also has stuff like monopoly and Scrabble and card games as well. And random twenty-sided dice for 75 cents each. They have games out that you can try out for yourself. They don't charge you to play so you can grab a bunch of your friends and easily kill an afternoon there. They have a seasonal store in Summit Mall around Christmas time. The one downside is that all of the games are at full price. So you probably will be able to find a cheaper price online. They give a $1 store credit for every $10 you spend. read more

This is a great little local game shop. They have tons of tabletop games for sale - averagely priced but fair for a game shop. They have the special editions/game store editions of various books for DND and other role playing games, but I'd recommend heading in quick as soon as they're released since they go fast. The real spotlight about this little shop is that they have game rentals! So you can try before you buy for a small price. It's $5 per game per 3 days, and when you return the game, you get $5 in store credit to use to purchase anything in the shop. They also do 7 day rentals. You just have to provide your credit card information. The games that are available to rent are in good condition as well. There are a few little tables in the back for people to try out games and play magic and other card/role playing games. I haven't had time to stop in for any events, but their schedule is on their website. In addition, the workers are nice and helpful and can answer most questions you have about the games/cards there. It's a great place to chat with others who share the same interests and hobbies as you. Stop in and support your local tabletop game shop today! read more

Underhill's Games is my go-to spot for board games; card games; and RPG books, materials, and supplies. (They have TONS of dice yo!) In fact it's so good it's kind of bad (for my wallet) that I rarely leave the store without purchasing something. They have a fantastic board game selection and options center around strategy, competitive, and cooperative play with representation of the horror, comedy, sci-fi and fantasy genres. In terms of classics, think less Monopoly or Clue and more Settlers of Catan and Munchkin (a classic fun and funny competitive play card game with so many expansions you CAN'T EVEN!) I've picked up several awesome card and board games there including Boss Monster, One Night, Arkham Horror, Fluxx, and (most recently) Android: Netrunner. They also have quite a bit of Paizo's Pathfinder role-playing game manuals and supporting materials along with the new Starfinder RPG stuff (although they, like most others) are sold-out of the core rules manual at present moment. If you don't really know where to start in terms of a game, they have knowledgeable staff on hand to help guide you towards something you might enjoy. Also, you can try any of their extensive shelf of games which are freely playable in the back area where they have many tables set up for just that purpose. They have snacks and drinks on hand for gamers and a neat selection of playing cards and specialty gaming dice. (SHINY.) I also learned that they recently launched a game rental program where you can rent a game. I think it was $5 for 3 days and $10 for 7 days but don't quote me on that. Prices are entirely reasonable and, while you may be able to save a buck or two per game from buying at an online marketplace, buying from a local game store such as this wonderful example, gets you a game but also supports a center where a community can get together to share a love of gaming. Plus what's better than a local spot where you can simply drop in whenever you find yourself with a great and urgent need for a fun and adventurous game with family or friends?! read more

I was close and decided to stop by after a couple of years visiting closer stores. I remember the store being enjoyable and fun last time. This time around I felt it was a shell of itself. The inventory was sparse with only the highlights. The paint selection was awful. My wife had to leave as the smell was unbearable. I would avoid it in the future for a cleaner and better stocked store. read more

A pretty small store with a great selection of board games. All my favorite european style games like the Ticket to Ride series, Agricola, Settlers of Catan, etc as well as interesting card games like Fluxx and many more! Prices are pretty standard to what you'll find elsewhere. Several times a year the store sets up tables in the back and brings in food, and for a set price people can play board games all day with lunch & dinner provided. (We happened to stop by on one of these days, and couldn't stay, but I think it was BBQ or perhaps pizza, and they were accomodating to vegetarians too). This would be a great way to meet new people with the same hobby and try a bunch of games before you buy. There is a bulletin board in the front where people post want adds (would like a third player for this game, etc). The owner of the store was there, very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely worth a return trip! read more

Geek heaven. The front of the store is overflowing with every board game imaginable (even run-of-the-mill games like Monopoly and Scrabble). The back of the store is overflowing with people playing Magic. They have snacks on site if you plan to stay a while (which I think many people do). The BF and I went in on a Friday afternoon to purchase a new board game. We were looking for a game that works well for two-players, but we didn't want an abstract strategy game. This makes the available selection quite small. The staff members were amazingly helpful. They literally walked up and down the aisle with us naming games that the two of us could play. Once we narrowed our list down to about 5 games, both staff members gave us their personal opinions on each game and also directed us to a game-review website so we could look them up for ourselves. The best part? They have demo copies of most games so you can try it out in the store before you commit to buying it. They also host game tournaments, the Boardgamers of Greater Akron (BOGA) meets there on a monthly basis, and they also have regular game nights. Definitely a must-visit. read more

Wanting to get your nerd on? This place is waiting for you! I've gone here on a few occasions and am always blown away by the knowledgable staff and big selction of games. There is something for everyone. They have tables for game play and some peeps get pretty serious. I am not taking Scrabble but more like D& D or whatever the kids play these days. I am pretty sure there was a hefty game of Pokemon going on when I was there last time. I am also pretty sure you can have some cosplay here, too. Shop local and get something interesting! read more

After 10 years they started to charge $3 to play, you receive three bucks in store credit tokens, so it's not to bad. The issue is, that does not guarantee a spot to play, if more people show up you'll be asked to leave. They have extra folding tables and the space to set them up, so we could have been accommodated.Poor customer service again.:( read more

Pretty cool place to hang out and game. The play area is free, which is a huge plus, and on Friday Night Magic nights the shop is full of Commander, Modern, and Casual Constructed players, which is pretty cool. Rather than hold tournaments for prizes, these nights usually feature a shop sign-in system where promotional cards are given away randomly. This month's is Fatal Push, which, as of writing this, is about $5 on the secondary market. The pricing isn't too amazing. I can't speak much for the board games, and the accessories/sleeves is fair, but cards are for simplicity's sake rounded to the highest quarter for commons/uncommons, and rares are about a dollar minimum. The price is forgivable in small doses, but building entire decks can inflate the cost if you get too many bulk rares. To marginalize this, the shopkeepers are usually pretty knowledgeable about the game, so utilizing them for advice both helps marginalize this by cutting down on some of the bulk (unless you end up replacing the core or going after some chase rares, but a lot of advice online would lead you to similar outcomes anyway) and can help teach newbies about deck construction as well. I'm not saying go for full seminars with them, but it never hurts to ask, and quite frankly if you're purchasing singles without seeking advice then you're wasting your time anyway. Overall, a nice little getaway for unwinding and picking up card game supplies. Besides the bulk rare issue I mentioned, though, the only real problem I have with it is that since the shop is in a small plaza, parking in the front can be a chore on Fridays. read more

Love this place! One of the best parts about Underhill's is that they have a really large game library where you can try games before you buy them. The owner has always been very nice about letting me bring friends and play in there for as long as I want. He special orders things if you need them (though you're probably going to find what you want, because they've got tons of games to sell), and you get bonus store credit for purchases over $25 (and you know with board games you're probably gonna spend over $25!). read more

Well, I have bought a few things from this store despite everything being full retail. Now I can understand not being "able to match online prices" but, everything constantly at full retail prices ALL THE TIME, especially after dropping a few dollars on games regardless of that fact, is what makes the LGS a great part of the gaming community and establishing rapport with customers, that is business 101. This weekend at ANCON in Hudson, I approached the booth for Underhill's about an expansion I had been interested in. Now he said the day before that they were offering 10% off of games and that they wouldn't accept store credit at the con? I'm sorry but what the HELL, you won't accept your own store credit you give out for spending quite a lot money to get? This makes absolutely no sense, in fact the profit margin is still fantastic if someone were to use credit and be given 10% off in this particular experience I had. I had heard many times before that the staff was rude or unreasonable or inattentive but after this bull crap I will never be going back to Underhill's again, you're better off elsewhere. read more
