I waited a long time to get in to Tyler - first because he is so highly sought after and busy, and second because of the pandemic. My session lasted over 6 hours and was super relaxing. He is very down to earth. Everything in the shot is spotless and top of the line. His room has a super comfy reclining chair with a huge tv with hulu netflix cable et. And you have total control on what you want to watch or listen to. On arrival check in was super friendly. Waiting room clean and comfy. Tyler Introduced himself took my photos and we had a pretty detailed discussion about what I hoped to accomplish. He took my idea and elated it considerably. He went back to his studio and came up with some stencils, worked my ideas and the final product was more than I could have hoped for. Amazing atmosphere and talent exhibited by this establishment. Spooky decor is nice to look at while the artist prepares. My artist was splendid, and I was able to find the right one through repeated inquiries through social media. A good friend recommend me and since I have been here four times. The owner is funny and friendly. Most tattoo shops look sleazy and gross but this place is decorated so cool and has a more professional and trust-worthy feel! After being on the wait list for shop owner Tyler Malek for more than 6 months, I got a call for an opening due to a cancellation. I dropped everything to make the trip from NYC to New Hampshire and I'm so glad I did. Tyler took my idea and made it better than I could have ever imagined. Not only is he a great artist, he's fun to chill with - which helps when you're being tattooed by him for hours. Tyler has a light hand so even though I sat for nearly 8 hours, it was still my easiest tattoo to date. The shop is great. Individual rooms for each artist but there's lots of consulting among artists before, during and after tattoos, which seems to serve to make them all better. It's a great crew over at Underworld. Highly recommended if you're in the area, and worth the trip if you're not. read more

This is going to be a review solely based on customer service. I did not get ink there, nor will I considering my experience. First I drove there (from Massachusetts) based on there published hours on their website and literally sat in the lobby for 30 minutes. No one at desk, no one to greet me, etc. So I sent an email and it takes 5 days to get a reply to tell me that the artist I want doesn't do color. HOWEVER I sent an email asking for black and gray. Overall just wasn't listened to or paid attention to. It doesn't matter that type of business, there has to be a certain level of professionalism and courtesy. To have someone sit in your lobby for 30 minutes while they can actually hear people downstairs laughing and joking seems absurd. I opened the door and closed it about 19 times before someone showed their face and at that point I was told the appointment person went to the store and I should just send an email. I don't live down the street and came from a different state. If you just want people to send emails so they don't drive an hour and half round trip maybe state that on your website. It is an awful shame too because I am getting an entire sleeve and own a company full of tattooed people but won't give a company any money that can't grasp customer service. read more

I came here back in May for the first time and had an appointment scheduled (booked quite far ahead of time) with Hayley. After hearing so many great things about this shop and the talented artists/crew here, I gave my trust to Hayley to help me cover-up (a 2x cover-up) tattoo on my wrist, while also doing a couple other small new tattoos. Not only was she such a pleasant person to have jot down my future ideas, but I cannot rave enough about the wonderful job she did covering the mess that used to be on the wrist with something beautiful. I get compliments on it constantly and people have no idea that it is a cover-up peice! Very fantastic work, quality, environment, & experience. Make sure you go to this Amazing shop! It can be hard to find as it's in an old mill building with many other businesses. But once you find this hidden gem you won't go anywhere else! Walk in and you will be greeted by the shop manager Aaron in a tranquil spa like atmosphere, from there anyone who has seen any of Tyler or TJ's work will be quick to want one of them to do your tattoo but...you'll soon find out that like anything else in life, quality work comes with a bit of a wait but don't overlook any of the other artists that work there!!! Matt- Amazing artist has been working on a sleeve for me currently and has also been working on one for my wife. Haley-(Tyler's apprentice) Don't be afraid to see this artist due to her being an apprentice! She did my first tattoo..then my second..and I am happy with both! She has also done 4 tattoo's on my wife and is doing a fifth this week. She has a long future with tattooing! Dale-Always working on a nice piece when I've been in the shop and is always funny to talk with makes her clients comfortable. Greg-Super laid back and friendly artist. I haven't gotten a tattoo from Greg yet but his portfolio is as amazing as the rest. I've seen Greg help out on more than one occasion. One time was a client had come in for Matt on the wrong day and Matt asked Greg if he could take the client instead of creating a disappoint. read more

A group of 5 friends and I (6 people taking over a shop for the day, not easy!) wanted to all get tattooed together, bad set up experience with another shop but they were smart enough to refer us to Underworld... so we went to talk to them. We walked in and Aaron was at the desk; he was funny, friendly, extremely knowledgeable and BEST of all had no problem telling you hell no that is not going to look right! He coordinated PERFECTLY 4 different artists with all 6 of our tattoo needs/schedule! The day before one of the artist was sick that day and they called to give us a heads up but still thought they could accommodate the 6 of us if the artist ended up sick the next day. The artist was sick but they still hooked us up :) and Aaron heard we were spending the night in the area and totally hooked us up with places to go! Hailey(the apprentice!) did my tattoo. She paid full attention to what I wanted, drew it out and then drew it out AGAIN(with zero annoyance) because I wasn't perfectly sure of the word placement. Second drawing was exactly what I wanted :) Her placement on my leg was exactly where I wanted it and the end result is exactly what I wanted and STUNNING! Nice clean lines, beautiful words and lovely shading. Top it off she is adorable... inside and out(LOL), crazy funny, kind, smart and made the entire experience great! She also did another friends tattoo, a huge celtic dragon going on his ribs (YUP RIBS AND HE WAS A TATTOO VIRGIN!) She took her time carefully drawing it up as it was a very detailed piece. Placed it a couple time working with his body structure and movement to get it placed perfectly, did not hesitate for a second to ask the other artists for input, talked to him about what he wanted and also made it clear to him that he might want to break this down into 2 sittings because ribs suck but made it clear they needed to complete the outline that sitting. Clear, blunt and all done in just the right way for him. Ribs are hard and it was a big piece, she not only worked well with the client but helped the rest of us with his needs - if he needed some space for the next part coming up she would indicate that with ease. Dale was in the same room as Hailey so I got to experience her chair side manner too... another great person! Kind, knows her stuff, dirty-funny, crazy history buff, quick/amazing drawing, solid attention to the clients needs/wants, works well with everyone else there-quick to help them out and end result a perfectly executed beautiful tattoo!!! Dale did another tattoo for our group, a very special leaf that had been drawn by one child, detailed by another and colored by yet another - Dale perfectly copied this little piece of art, right down to skips in the lines that the kids made :) Amazing attention to detail on a very meaningful piece. Greg was across the hall and was supposed to be doing as a cover up... My friend got in there and promptly wanted to know why the hell she would want to cover that up and made it clear her idea for the cover up sooooo would not work anyway. He explained to her how he could spice it up so she would love it again but would do that another time because he had a good window of time to do the other one she was interested in. He seemed a little quiet initially but then we realized he was kinda like a sponge - listening and getting a feel for us then he let loose OMG so funny! Amazing work, color, detail and boy did he give us hell... it was great! He also did one of the tats that the sick artist was supposed to do, he didn't just do it but he had to take verbal description of what was wanted and put it to paper. Out come was the 3 beautiful trees that he wanted on his ribs (YUP MORE RIBS AND ANOTHER TATTOO VIRGIN... our guys were crazy!) Now TJ did not tattoo any of us on this day (But appts WILL be made) but he was there; he was friendly, funny and had the most amazing dog (Nelson).
