All they care about is their money and their IG page. Doesn't matter how long you wait or pay, they will treat you like you don't matter. *This is for anyone looking to book an appointment with Mike Rodriguez, Owner of Unforgettable Ink* I have nothing bad to say about the rest of the resident artists at the shop. I booked an appointment with Mike, 2 months ahead. Sent him a down payment of $500, to secure the date. A day before our scheduled appointment, he had his shop manager text me to tell me that Mike is sick. The next day, he's posting on his Instagram on a boat vacationing. (Not sick at all) I was disappointed, but I can be understanding & patient. I asked him several times, for the next few days, when we would be rescheduling. He would not get back to me whatsoever, holding my down payment "hostage". I blew him up, through text, and Instagram DM, until he responded. He tells me that he's "going to Cali" and didn't know when he'd be able to do the tattoo.. so obviously, at this point, I asked for my down payment back, or to have another resident artist in the shop do the tattoo. He reads the message, then proceeds to tell me he can do the tattoo tomorrow at 3:30pm before his flight. The next day, I arrive at the shop around 3pm, Mike doesn't show up until 5pm. He then wanders around the shop, chatting with employees, smoking out back, (I could see everything clearly on his security cameras) doing anything but greeting me, HIS CLIENT. He finally comes in the room, with a smirk, says "sorry" then finally gets started on the stencil. He barely wanted to be there, did not want to take the proper time to find the best image with me for the tattoo, so I picked one and ran with it. He threw the stencil on, started tattooing me and the only thing he said was "I have a flight at 6pm" I said, "so what's good with the time crunch?" His response, "Oh I'm not worried about it, I'm not going to rush it". OF COURSE, he rushed it. Dude wailed on me with the tattoo gun, seemingly doing the tattoo as quickly as possible, trying to get it finished before he had to go. (I've been tattooed countless times and I've never seen someone go that hard.) The whole time he was tattooing, he was asking what time it was. Then, after only an hour of tattooing, he says "I have to go". We were only halfway through the tattoo and he should NOT have rushed any of it. I asked when we would be able to finish it, and he said "In two weeks" he made me give him the full amount for the tattoo, even though he did not complete it. I was annoyed with the entire situation, but I thought that paying him in full, would give him the incentive to show up and finish it properly. He left, went on vacation to Cali. Comes back, and our "final" appointment is in a day or two. I hadn't heard from him. I texted him to make sure he'd be there, and still got no response. The appointment was set for 10am on a Monday morning. I made sure to get there on time, waited in the parking lot for him, knocked on the shop door, rang the bell, and of course, he didn't show up! He texted me at 9:45am saying "I have you scheduled for 10am." I said, "yeah man, I'm out front in the parking lot" ..20 minutes later, he says, "I'm not going to make it, I'll be free around 3pm" I was done with the games, done with this guy wasting my time. It was the absolute worst business ethic I've ever experienced. I let him know, in full, how I was feeling, and how he can't be doing this to people. His response was, "sorry I'll make it up to you" THIS IS THE OWNER OF THE ESTABLISHMENT. He does not understand that people have lives. My time shouldn't be wasted when you're being paid for it. I gave him my hard earned money, for art. Which I did not receive. Instead, I got a scarred up, half done, tattoo. After I posted the situation on Instagram, he blocked me, and would not respond to my messages. Dude STILL has all of the money that I gave him, even though he only tattooed me for an hour. (I paid him over $1000) I haven't seen a single penny back, or any effort to resolve the situation. So much disrespect towards a client, that I've never seen before, from ANYONE in the industry. I put my trust in him, as a human & artist, and he destroyed that. Have some moral standards. Stop ripping people off. Do better. Karma is beautiful. read more

Mike the owner of shop is a great artist, but has horrible customer service skills.. paid $3k upfront for a arm sleeve, but then was rescheduled literally 5+ times, had clients added on schedule in front of me day of and session cut short, price redetermined higher, etc. "full day sessions" are not full day sessions!! When confronted he would apologize and give excuses to taking on more than he should but nothing would change. He works fast and super detailed but ultimately I waited over a year for the sleeve after calling off work for our session to be given the run around over and over again, not to mention how he wanted more money after all that shitty service. I tipped high every appt too, hoping he wouldn't reschedule my next appt at no prevail. Find a shop or specifically an artist that respects your time and sticks to his word. I gave up on him and went to Michael at IncredibleInk to finish who is just as detailed just takes more time. Price was fair and appts were respected. read more

Would highly recommend booking with Alyssa! I hit her up a couple days before the session and she was accommodating and even moved her personal schedule around to fit me in. When I got there, the shop was clean and all the artists were super friendly. The vibe is great and welcoming, they have music playing and even a fish tank lol super different than a lot of shops I've been to. Alyssa was so patient as I wanted to make a couple changes to my design and had no problem adjusting it until I was completely satisfied. In the end, the tattoo came out exactly how I wanted it and I was very happy. She is an excellent artist! So patient, kind, and has a light touch. Horrible service and they are scam artists not tattoo artists. Marcelo was supposed to revamp an old tattoo for me which is two roses and complete a half sleeve he quoted me 1400 and I agreed to pay in installments and do 3-4 sessions. I'm a black woman with no prior medical issues and several tattoos with color that I've gotten done at someone's home and I've never had a issue until I came to this "reputable" tattoo shop Marcelo colored in one rose outlined the other rose and stopped. I paid him $400 for 30 minutes of work. I would've went back if it wasn't for the allergic reaction to the ink used by Marcelo. He took no responsibility and told me it's how I took care of the tattoo. My tattoo was pink, raised and swollen for weeks. It looked like a giant scar it eventually healed and has black spots all over the tattoo and I now have to come out of pocket again to have it redone. The best part about all of this is the store passed me around between wes, mike and Marcelo and ultimately expected me to pay their horrible excuse of a tattoo studio an additional $400 to fix an issue that occurred due to the artist and the supplies used. Believe all of the negative reviews (check the BBB website and google before booking them) and don't waste your money with them. Go to color fast tattoo. I should've stuck with them. read more

HELL NO . I agreed with my artist ( which was Mike the owner of the shop) to complete a full leg sleeve . He then told me if I paid him upfront he would give me a discount because he needed money at the moment for a situation he was going through . I paid him in full 5K . I had all my dates set and lined up. I played baseball at a university at the time and after I completed my first session I told him I wanted to reschedule my appointments after my season cause I didn't wanna risk messing them up during the recovering process. i moved them later in the year and he he cancelled on me 5 times in a row . After I had to tell him off a couple time he finally came through and completed another piece . Since then he cancelled on me another 4 times and now ignores all my calls and messages and I don't even have half my leg done so I've pretty much taken the loss in that 5k . After I took vacation days from work just to get it done . He has no care for others people time and is just an absolute ass. I would not recommend him at all. I hate to be writing this because I was a loyal happy customer until this past year. I've been getting tattooed by the owner for about 3 years. About 8 months ago I was jumping through hoops trying to either get my deposit back ( which I was told no ) or reschedule my appointment no one got back to me forever. Finally once rescheduled Mike was 3 hours late to my appointment. I paid my usual way prior to the appointment, I paid for a day session which I did not get. I was tattooed for about 4 hours and mike said we could finish another time he rescheduled me for a month out and a day before the appointment I checked in to make sure the appointment was still good and he said no.. he didn't even remember that I had an appointment LOL he totally forgot he rescheduled me then tried to bully me into paying more money even though I had the screenshots where he made this agreement with me! he said now his rate is higher and it's a new year plus he has a lot of shit going on. To say the least I was very disappointed that I wasted 2500 to have an unfinished tattoo. I didn't get the service I paid for, it was really unprofessional of him to go back on what he had originally agreed on due to his issues outside of work. I came to get a piercing fixed, missed my appointment and rescheduled and was still a couple minutes late and Mady was so understanding and accomodating, as well as she is a piercer who clearly knows what she's doing. She was the only piercer I've ever went to that actually gave me aftercare instruction besides "clean your piercing". Will definitely be coming back to get my cartilage pierced! read more

I hate to even write this review cause it's not my style but I feel I have to let people know. Do I recommend Mike? Let's see, we meet up day of the appointment (didn't hear back from him until a few hours before). He did the initial work and I will say he has a lot of talent in bringing my idea and details to life and capturing it in the tattoo piece. I think he's a great artist but when it comes to running a business and valuing his clients time he has no respect. Reading the other reviews on here right now it all makes sense and I should've paid attention to them in the beginning. We had agreed that we would meet for a second touchup session which he said he would do at no charge, but I do understand that time is money and I offered to compensate him for it. The problem is Mike books more than he can take on and shows absolutely no respect for his clients time especially the ones that have already paid him in full. You will spend days, weeks, months texting him and asking if he can do something as simple as check his books to lock in a date and he will leave you hanging with no response or he kicks the can down the road and says he will get back to you. I finally reached out to another reputable artist who honors time and is transparent when they are available etc. what a concept?! I wish I could've gotten the tattoo finished with Mike but in the end it worked out perfectly with someone else. Go to someone that will value your time and not give you the runaround. read more
