I came to Fort Dodge from Montana, moved me, my 5 children, and roommate to this location after suffering a devastating fire, to be a General Manager of the Days Inn. After two weeks of working everyday, over 16 hour shifts a day, and working off the clock most of the time (all of which was expected and instructed by the area manager and owner of the hotel), I was terminated by Days Inn for not coming in on time when I wasn't even on the schedule (it was supposed to be my day off). They had been letting us stay on property and fired me days before Thanksgiving which was also my twins twelfth birthday and then made the cops remove us from property without even politely requesting us to first cuz I would have left willingly if they had. I endured so much more strong actions by this company that I plan on getting legal representation and taking legal action. But after all that, my family and I came to the Economy Inn because we had nowhere to go and knew no one. The front desk worker was so amazing, courteous, polite, and compassionate. They worked with us and gave us an amazing room for an amazing deal (and I didn't even inform them of what had just happened to us; they are naturally of this nature). The entire time we've stayed at this motel, they have performed some of the best service and customer service I have ever seen in the industry. They were attentive, prompt, efficient, courteous, accommodating, and extremely caring. Any concern I had (which was nil) was taken care of immediately and with the utmost care and consideration. The wifi is phenomenal. The beds and bedding extremely comfortable. The furniture was in pristine condition as well as the interior of the room. Amenities were supplied daily and of good quality. Supplies and service regular and fully adequate and stocked. They even have NFC card readers for the doors. They have been so amazing and amenable, I believe this is the best motel stay I have ever experienced and honestly it was because of the genuine care and consideration they provided that made this experience beyond any of my expectations. The people that work here are worth so much for being such good people. I will always stay here in the future ana would recommend it to my sweet grandmother or anyone.

This hotel used to be Starlite and a wonderful landmark in Fort Dodge Iowa so I was happy to book a…read moreroom/cabin for three weeks. Upon arriving (cabin) I was exhausted and too tired to do anything. However, I did notice that the two TV's in the room did not work properly (no service) and I could not watch a full program. They were not smart tvs so I could not share with my phone. The cabin was spacious and I loved all of the ammenities but again, it was pretty dirty (dust, spackling on walls, food in the drain, dirty carpet and bench, etc) so I called the front desk to have my room changed after I explained the problem. This same night I needed something to drink so I went into the hotel to purchase a bottle of water out of the vending machine, I put in a $5 bill, pushed the button for water and it served me and then the change came down. I received .65 cents. I was too tired to do anything about it but I did purchase my own case of water the next day. It was my fault for not going to the front desk but my brain just wanted rest. The next day I was able to get a King room inside the hotel...again, had a few glitches. My room was on the second floor and I had to lug all of my belongings (no elevator) to the second floor, which only took me three trips. Mind you, I am a retired woman with some health problems so it was a bit difficult. But I managed. The water did not come out of the shower head so I called to get that replaced. Next shower, the hot water did not work, so I called the front desk and they had to flip some switches to get the water heaters to work. Yay. I was told upon arrival that if I wanted housekeeping to let them know a day in advance to request this. Also, if I needed to vacuum or needed any ammenities in the meantime, I would have to ask for a vacuum, towels, sheets, etc. or go to the front desk to get them. I have been cleaning my own room and changing bedding and vacuuming And cleaning the entire room myself. Again, a little dusty but it is a bed and privacy. I have been here two weeks so far and still there is food on the stairwells and hallways. I volunteered to vacuum as it was sticking to my shoes but the person working at the front desk assured me they were going to vacuum the next day. I was told the employees were not able to work overtime and they did not have enough employees to properly maintain this hotel. What a shame. Management shoud be on top of this and put customers in front of the bottom line (money). You think, why didn't she get another hotel?? This stay was booked in January and paid for ahead of time. Most of the other hotels (at this time) did not have rooms available. So I sucked it up and stayed. They do have two restaurants in this hotel, which is convenient. They also have a wonderful pool area and great washer/dryers, which worked great and were not too expensive. The employees I did inneract with were very nice but their hands were tied as to what they were able to do. Management would not approve the appropriate staffing needs and quality was not great. So there was good and bad but I will remember the bad. It certainly is not like the old Starlite was. The Starlite was very clean and the service was great. That is why only three stars.

The hotel is very clean and it is obvious the management and owners care about the property. Inside and out was in pristine condition. Breakfast, while still a hotel one, was better than most that we have encountered on this long trip. We didn't use the pool but it looked great. Definitely choose this place if you are in the area. We met the cleaners in the hallway when we returned to the room. Ear buds, brand new lulu bag and a ring all were missing. So if you want your personal belongings rummaged through and stolen, stay here. Owners refused to do anything about it even though security cameras show that the cleaners were the only ones in our room while we were gone! very unfortunate they handled it this way.

They worked with us and me taking care of my own financing. They got a great deal on a "used" 2020 Wolf Pup and it's perfect for our family of three. They…read morehave many very affordable sites, our has full hookups and it it cozy and spacious at the same time. The entire park is beautiful and even has a great looking public golf course. Easily reservable online, we were able to line it up same day and pop right into our pull thru spot as soon as we arrived. The is one street light in the campground and I wish it wasn't right next to site 26, but not enough to spoil a perfect evening. As our campfire dwindles in the late evening, we know the memories and appreciation we have will never fade. Thanks to Hamilton county for a truly wonderful park!
