Wife admitted by ambo August 27th. Infection. Last Thursday she was unresponsive in room. I ran to get nurse from 4 East (room4111) and jristiana came fast, looked the matter over took her sugar and was lie I. Low 50s, she hit a red button and room was flooded by a response team that was amazing. They finally got her to come around but 3chours later same thing happened and another amazing team ran to room. Doctors and nurses were amazing. Gave her several shitts and she came around. Doing ok now at home. Amazing quality of care by all staff. Nurse jristiana I feel actually saved her life by immediately seizing up what was wrong and acted quickly. Amazing good medical professional. Wife was in excellent hands there . Vest care and staff anywhere. Thank you RN Kris! God bless you all. Thank you and will always remember you! read more

Sharon at Patient Registration wasn't not friendly, gabbed with other employees instead of helping the filling up waiting room, other employees also weren't helping anyone, making someone with a hernia walk back and forth for sign ins when the lady at the sign in desk didnt even write in my husband's name...she made our experience way worse. Union is terrible anyway but she was worse. read more

They can't even get their address right online. Example: saying something is at the Professional Office Building but all the buildings are numbered and they don't use the GIANT numbers on their addresses OR on any information regarding the address online or on their own website. Seems simple enough. Also seems like trusting them with your health is a gamble consodering they can even get their directions right. read more

Many experiences at hospital and their adjoining facilities. No major issues with any times we've encountered the hospital. Currently waiting on wife to have a scan and came to the cafeteria for a snack. Usually my YELP reviews are associated with food so here I am whilst having some extra time to spare. Anyway, in the cafeteria, it was in between breakfast and lunch. The options were still fresh and plentiful on the refrigerator items. I had a turkey bacon wrap and a soda. It was good. I like the arrangement of the cafeteria seating nearby to some wonderfully huge windows. The cafe employees were helpful and efficient. Nice job!! read more

I received two phone calls regarding pre-registration. On both phone calls I told the clerk I could not afford to pay up front the co-pay for my Insurance. I told them I would pay on it monthly as I already have a payment plan. The clerk (Savannah) when I sat down I told her I couldn't afford to pay the co-pay right then and they could add it to my payment plan I was already paying on. She said it says right here I need to collect the money up front. I again said I just told you I couldn't pay it today. She said here I'll give you some papers to apply for assistance. I took the papers but at that point I was very hurt and embarrassed. I always worked when I was younger and always paid my bills. I was already nervous about my procedure because I didn't know the outcome at that time. I think (Savannah) needs to show a little compassion when talking to patients. Some day she may be in the same position and believe me it's not fun. read more

The er department is a fucking joke . Came in with a severe allergic reaction and my nurses were in the corner laughing and joking around

Avoid Thomas Plaza (5500 S US Hwy 41). It is the worst clinic I have ever been to in my life. Nurses don't answer calls, they request wrong medication/lab work and on top of that you receive the wrong bill. Even worse, you will need to be ready to wait for at least 1 hour to see one of the doctors even when you have an appointment with them. I hope Union management can see this comment and close this while clinic. read more

(Actualy John W). Health care provided very satisfied. Major problem is their billing department. Absolute worst I have ever encountered. Bills my insurance both Medicare, Anthem, and my HSA who all pay. Then I receive a bill for the amounts already paid saying I owe. Talk to the reps on the phone. Tell them about the EOBs, explain the exact check numbers from the insurance, show where I have additionally paid using a credit card (when I shouldn't have but when I get a bill in the mail I just pay) and then get a bill for the same thing months later. Absolutely horrendous. If I wasn't getting decent care from the doctors I would go elsewhere. read more

I'm fairly new to the area. I don't understand why you wait weeks for an appointment! No late evening or a Saturday morning appointments. Every in Terre Haute closes from noon to 1 pm daily for lunch. When you work full time you can't get an appointment with out taking off from work. Second, no one answers the phone, bilingual is NEVER available! I had an issue and was assured that the department manager would call me. It's been over 3 weeks ago with numerous left messages and she won't call me. That says a lot! Union DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU!!! AT ALL! read more

They done testing on me and gave false results for to an agency request. So be careful when you get blood results back from the lab results. They said I was not pregnant and previously before I was and they done x-rays on me while I was pregnant and then on Sept 30th,2024, they lied again and said I was on methamphetamine while I take prescription that give a false positive results and it did show up that I am pregnant. So just be careful and get a second opinion because that will be in your record and they will judge you and possibly cause death like it done with my friend that passed away several years ago. The care was horrible. One in ten nurses care. And the supervisors only try to keep you not correct the problems. After getting out of there to Indy i was better in days! Then the billing! The cant tell you what you owe because of the multiple accts. and i personally experienced deceptive billing practice. Tanks to my insurance company they said i had over paid union for numerous Dr ofc calls. After a year if doing this i asked union hosptital acct svcs.. They had a credit that no one invoiced me for but kept billing me for services that were either paid by my insurance or never submitted. over forty phone calls, 12 msgs with 3 return calls and 2 unanswered letters and almost 8 months, i am waiting for the credits they hid to be applied to my accts..STAY AWAY FROM UNION HOSPITAL!!!! The convenient care on state Road 46 is a waste of time and money. I went in 2 years ago with a foot and ankle that was stolen twice is normal size and very bruised. I was told since it wasn't bruised out swollen to just let it work itself out. I hope problems for months. My son went in yesterday July 19, 2023. He had a bag eat infecting in both ears and a sinus infection. She the (NP) was going to give him an antibiotic but decided he needed to go to the hospital. She did not give him the antibiotic or anything. He left with nothing. He will not go in to see anyone now as he has no faith in them. He did it will go away eventually. I have 2 complaints, 1: it's dirty and clients catch staff infections. 2: the staff needs to be retrained in client care and attitude towards clients. Went to the ER in Clinton for a kidney stone, they set me in a room for an hour, asked a few questions, drew some blood, then disappeared until they came to wheel me out for a CT scan, then when they brought me back in they set me in the room for another hour before checking on me and never gave me anything for the pain. In fact, they didn't do anything to remedy the issue or the pain. I'll never willingly go back. Now I'm fighting billing to get an itemized bill on a $4500 bill not counting the blood work or CT scan bills. $2500/hr for renting a room is preposterous when I got little to no help. read more

Keeping people in certain positions and not letting them advance their employment, the call center is a catastrophe of customer service.

This doctor said he's fine.. but we knew better so we took him to ambucare by the mall. They perform tests and answered our questions and listen to us. Only 1 because negative is not allowed. Looking through husband's medical records and have found several flat out lies in nurses notes. I called for nurse because his medication to prevent heart arrhythmia had been stopped for over 2 hours. The nurse was rude and stated "he's not having an arrhythmia " . I asked if they were waiting for him to before they did anything about the medication not going before they fixed it .What was charted by the lying , rude nurse was that I was rude and that it had only been a short time since he had been checked on. However, it had been at least 5 hours. I was awake the entire time and after over 2 hours of the IV pump beeping because medication was empty still nobody came . If you have any choice avoid this place. They are lazy , 2 faced liars and will ignore and neglect every chance they get. Even reusing disposable equipment. They kept putting dirty caps back on his midline even though a new sterile cap is to be used every time. So very much more including giving him mrsa and sepsis. The worst place on earth with the worst nursing staff ever. My husband was ignored and neglected almost the entire time. read more

Very rude and unprofessional. I was being questioned by a health care professional, who told me I was be manic, because of how high my voice was when I was telling a story. Then told me she wasn't going to help me. Then threw a paper at me before she left the room. And, when I asked her about it. She lied. There's a camera in my room. Lie to that. I'm not even a crazy person and that's who she deals with here. All I did was explain what was going on with my voice high. I wasn't even yelling. Ridiculous people and you should look for a new job. This ain't the one for you if you threaten to leave someone you are supposed to be helping. You're not helping anyone. You're just being selfish! If you're someone from the hospital reading this review, yes I am still here. Also, this happened in room 10 in the ER between 2 and 5pm today. Will be posting her name as soon as I get. She hasn't been back since. Also, if there's sound on the cameras, please review it also. ALL OF HER ACTIONS WERE UNPROFESSIONAL! If you can't sit and have a conversation with someone, and not walk out on your job, this isn't the job for you. HIRE SOMEONE THAT CARES, AND DOESN'T PURPOSELY PROVOKE YOUR PATIENTS. She asked me a question and because of the way my voice was when I was answering, I was doing something wrong. So, I just looked at her like really. Then I was in trouble because I did something, again. Apparently everything looks suspicious, so you shouldn't move when you're at Union. Just sit still like a statue. And, really, while we're profiling people here..... By the looks of her teeth I can profile her to be a methhead. Really, you're going to judge me by my voice. Not to mention, it's a good thing she's not a real doctor, she doesn't have any patience to have patients. Her name was Elizabeth McLiar! read more

I needed to go to into Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. The parking lot was never designed for a hospital setting. Under ADA federal guidelines and Indiana state law the total number of ADA spaces must be at least 10% of the entire number of spaces provided. 1 in 6 of the ADA spaces must be Van Accessible spaces for a van that uses a ramp or lift. If someone causes a infraction or misdemeanor in an ADA space under IC 5-16-9-1 it is ticketable and a judgment if found guilty is no less than a $100 fine. The security refused to ticket or tow a person who blocked my van ramp from deploying making it to where I could not exit or enter into my van in my wheelchair. The security guard was completely incompetent and severely derelict of his duties. I am in the process of filing a federal lawsuit against Union Hospital for its inability to follow ADA rules that control ADA spaces. Both in the build and in the implementation. If anyone else has had an issue with the ADA parking I suggest you hold them at Union Hospital accountable as I will be. read more

Don't recommend going to this hospital not unless if you want billing issues. Try to pay a bill on there website only for it to come up as a error. Took over $500 out of my account. Literally sat in the hall for 6 hours!! Finally went up to a nurse to see if we were ever going to see a Dr. Finally seen a Dr. Did an ekg 6 hours into our visit. Which was pointless. Broken arm and wrist sat in ER for 11 hrs because they didn't have a room, then after 15 hrs moved to a room and within 1 hr was moved to a different room. Took my mother in law to ER by ambulance with breathing issues and fever......she has had COPD for years but this time was different.......my father in law and I assumed they tested her for Covid and it took 5 hours for them to even do her blood work which they said had to be done before they would even do other tests. I had to throw a fit before the ER NP would even get the bloodwork done. Finally after 5 hours bloodwork was done and then a CT was done on her lungs. She was in the ER for 24 hours, then moved to a room upstairs and then released after only being in a room for 12 hours. They said they couldn't find anything wrong........well guess what after 7 days of her being sick at home and then my father in law getting sick and I getting sick and my sister getting sick we find out that NO the hospital DID NOT do a Covid test and guess what she died of Covid!!! Her local doctor said there is NO record at all in her hospital records saying she was tested for Covid while there!!! If we had known that we would have had her tested sooner on our own...............IF the hospital had done their job she would have gotten the proper treatment and MAYBE we would still have her!!! read more

This visit to the ER was even better than I thought possible, I was treated even far better than many of the other visits which none were ever bad rather all were great. I found that the care I recieved by the staff was both professional and caring and I felt as I was the only Patient they had yet they were so busy I had no room for sometime and was placed in the hallway where I recieved great care and treatment while I was content as well comfortable. I was able to listen to music on my tablet where I was cared for being sent for tests as well returned being comforted by the Doctors and Nurses as well others of the staff. Though I eventually was put into a room, I actually liked being in the hallway more, where I was able to see how well all the staff worked with one purpose the best care they could give each and every patient who was in thier care. Congradulations Union ER for providing us the best care available. Youve never let me down even once in the years I have gone to your Hospital for care. read more

I went to the OB/GYN a year ago at Union because I suspected bacterial vaginosis. Not only did he never diagnose me, but he ordered STD testing I didn't need, which cost me over $1,000. A year later and I still have yet to get my results. I suspect I never will. I called the office several times to get an answer but she only said they sent it in the mail. Never got anything in the mail. I asked if they tried to call because I didn't have phone service for about a week. She hastily said, "Oh yeah, that's when we tried to call you." I had service for a month after my visit and they picked the only time I wasn't available to call? Right. If they had my results then, why didn't she tell me what they were when I called? So I will just treat it with home remedies...they are more reliable. Going there was a waste of time and money. The walk in clinic didn't help me either. I thought I had a yeast infection because the doctor never confirmed BV, but they only said it was negative. No suggestions or recommendations. As if that weren't enough, I gave birth there and the nurse who helped me deliver was condescending and rude. I was making small talk with her and she said my college degree was useless. And when I asked her if my son was nursing correctly, she said, "Do you feel him sucking?" I said no. Then, in a scathing tone, like I was stupid, "Then he's not feeding." Many nurses refused to listen when I said I wanted to formula feed my son even after we tried everything. He refused to latch. Finally they gave me formula after they realized he needed it. The only redeeming quality of any of my visits was a few nice nurses who made my stay bearable. I probably won't return, after that many negative experiences. read more

When speaking to Amber the Discharge planner on 4 E I was seeking advice on how to get help for my mom. I told her the whole situation that we were going thru. She advised that placing my mom in a nursing home would be the best option. I understood this and agreed, but there was a financial situation I have to consider. I couldn't put mom in the nursing home and start wracking up a huge bill. I applied for Medicaid for my mother, but it has not been approved. I understood my mother's needs for care are increasing but I also have to as her daughter and POA to consider what is best for my mom in all aspects. She (Amber) actually threaten the ADULT PROTECTION AGENCY on me. I don't think she understands what she did. Does this hospital now make it a policy to intimate families to get what they want?
