I am so surprised that I am the first to post a review of this great place. I visited with friends over the weekend and was so delighted. We booked (it's advisable to do so) for dinner on the day before and arrived at 6pm, to see other diners already here. Don't be confused by the layout - the good restaurant is through the doors from the bar - you will get a different menu if you eat in there. We enjoyed the Citrus Ceviche, Whitebait Fritter and Tomato/Mozarella Salad. These were all very nice, generous entrees. Our mains were the Angus Beef fillet and a Cassoulet, with sides of Rocket/Fennel Salad, Green Beans and New Potatoes. Yum, yum and Yum .... everything was marvellous. We accompanied our dinner with lovely wines, a local Pinot Noir and a very nice Syrah from Hawke's Bay. My companions shared a Creme Brûlée for dessert - again very generous and lovely. What a delightful evening, the restaurant was busy but not overly noisy and the service was continuously good. We will definitely be back. read more
