What is stopping you? If you are reading this review, you are curious about joining, so sign-up for…read morea trial pass, and see for yourself. Now, if you sign-up for the trial pass, you will only be able to work-out during staffed hours, which operates Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM. During, this period the staff will not push a hard sales pitch on the reasons you should join, but let you come to your own conclusion. Last summer, I used the 14-day trial pass to continue my work-out routine, while the gym at my work was getting renovated. They have decent equipment, but not on the scale of a university or military base gyms of which I got accustomed too. However, they have the basic equipment (free weight, cardio machines, and circuit equipment) and it is kept in better condition than the Shelton Athletic Club. Now, I did not sign-up for membership after the trial period ended, but 6 months later I became a member. The initial contract is for 3 months, afterwards you could extend it on a month to month basis. If you want more info, I advise you to sign-up for a trial pass and get a work out in. Pros - 24 hour access to the facilities - Ample parking - Good equipment - Friendly staff Cons - No lockers

If you are simple guy like me, you'll be content with this Shelton location. The gym is always…read moreclean and almost NEVER crowded, and parking is convenient. I don't get the "meat market" vibe here that I get in many other gyms, like the 24 hour fitness in Olympia. I don't really ever interact with the staff, but they seem very friendly. And the price is right. The cons: There are only two combined bench presses and squat racks. It can be hard to get on this essential piece of equipment at times. The trial membership is kinda bogus. It is only good for Mon-Fri from 9-6. That isn't helpful for people with a normal work shift. Where are all the collars at this place!? It is a cheap piece of safety equipment that is always in short supply.

I frequently come here to work out since it is free for military and their dependents. I've also…read moretaken friends when they visit from out of town. The fee for civilians is $5.50, which is steep in my opinion; however, this is a base gym and primarily meant for military so I can't complain. The staff is friendly and very helpful. They have several fitness classes that are complimentary for active duty and their dependents. They also have a variety of equipment (free weights, treadmills, ellipticals, etc.) and a separate gym for families I believe. In addition to the gym equipment, they have tons of televisions, racquetball courts, basketball courts, and a pool (although the pool is closed at the present time). I've come during the summer and find that they keep the place pretty cool (especially in comparison to the Bangor gym). Finally, they have towels to borrow and free wifi, which is always nice :) My only complaint would be that their hours are limited, especially on the weekends and when the carrier is out. This is the result of government cuts so not much the gym can do about that. It can also get crowded at times, but then I just try to come during the day when most people are at work or close to closing time.

Great selection of fitness equipment and free weights. Free for military and dependents. Free WiFi :) Free fitness classes. Super friendly staff. Has a pool, basketball and racquetball court. Good atmosphere and they keep the place clean. We will continue to come here as long as we live in the area.
