Although we decided to book our event elsewhere, it was a pleasure to work with her. I'm definitely holding onto the information she gave me for booking an event here, corporate or personal, in the future. One can book out the space of the cafe as well if needed. They will also add their cafe's barista service to your event for a small fee. There's a small parking lot that is right nearby to use which is really helpful in this neck of the woods where parking is space. The space itself is a big concrete slab with concrete walls but they have all of the tables and chairs, a grand piano to rent, and the price is great along with the ability to have catering come in from outside and decorate the space as you see fit.

The meal was made with high-quality ingredients and tasted good. I don't remember what the soup was, but it was a rich taste and absolutely delicious. The crab meat served after that was wrapped in zucchini, and asparagus as a side dish with fresh vegetable salad was also pleasant. I don't remember the name of the dessert, but it was smooth and indulgent. The server woman was also satisfied with the attentive service.

It's been open a few…read moreyears now and a much needed upgrade to the original site, or, what used to be called just the Washington Convention Center is now the Arch Building.It is interesting that they are two totally seperate buildings that are two blocks away. A confusing aspect which often leads people befuddled. It does feel quite open despite being located in the downtown area and there always feels like there is plenty of natural light. The escalators rising up from level 1 to the 5th floor top level has a nice adjacent seating area which flows down to level three with a nice view of the interior of the center and big glass windows with views of Pine street. I have been to multiple conventions here (ECCC, PAX West, etc.) and I am always impressed with this place!

The newly renovated Dakota Place Park Building in West Seattle is a great new venue run by the City of Seatte which can accommodate up to 200 people. It's former City Light substation, located within walking distance of California Junction, a popular neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants. The building retains some of the old brick architecture, but has lots of modern amenities such as a full A/V system with video projector and built in sound system, a catering kitchen with icemaker, and comfortable tables and chairs. The best part of this venue is the adjoining outdoor patio, which would be great spillover for guests during the summer when weather is nice. Venue rental includes one staff member, who will stay throughout the event and help coordiante cleanup. We reserved the Dakota Place Park building for our Dad's 90th birthday party. It worked perfectly…read morefor our group of 100. They have a great setup with tables that roll into place and then lock. We only set up tables for 50 and left 1/3 of the room for people to stand and mill about looking at memorabilia. They have an AV system that we used to show a video of the birthday boy's life. The AV on the east wall didn't work, but the AV on the north wall did. They have screens for both. The venue is open every Saturday morning to go and look and plan for your event. We recommend using that time in the weeks leading up to the event. We rented the building from 1-6 and our event was 2-5. That left very little time to get all the tables and chairs set up, catering to arrive, set up the AV, etc. If you plan well, as we did, you can do it, but we had to develop a good plan on the Saturday morning strategy sessions. Also, be sure to test your video a few times on the Saturday mornings. That's how we found out, on the day of the event, that the HDMI doesn't work on the east wall. Some thoughts: bring your own hangers if guests will be arriving with coats, they only have about 10, but they do have a nice portable coat rack. We put signs on the steps off Dakota directing people to use the west entrance, which is handicapped accessible. It worked well to only use one door. Parking is problematic, as there are only about 3 spots, but no one complained. The Parks Department staff are very helpful, but they're not AV experts, and we didn't expect them to be. You have to figure out the video system mostly on your own. We chose not to use the wireless microphone (provided) because we were sure everyone could hear us. However, once we got 100 people in there absorbing sound and making noise, we wish we had. All in all, it was super. Hopefully they get the HDMI fixed on the east wall. We had to change our seating plan at the last minute once we found out it was not working (the video played, but kept pausing inexplicably). (Oh, and you have to call and bug them after 10 days to get your deposit back...they don't seem to have any sort of system in place to process the refund, but after a couple of calls we got ours back no problem). Great venue. Great staff. Plan Ahead!

Not great, but not a deal breaker as I'm sure they are busy with inquiries. What was even more bizarre is that on Saturday they sent me their pricing which included capacity limits listing 250 ppl as the most (for full venue, including Barrel Room). On Monday when they responded again, I was told they only hold events with 60 or fewer guests and best of luck in my search. I guess I'm glad there was no need to pursue this further because this mess of communication would not bode well for planning any event, especially a wedding.

Table Catering Co. has an exclusive catering contract and manages the Almquist venue. As long as Brooke and the Table team are managing Almquist, I would NEVER recommend it. It was clear early on that the venue's mismanagement was going to be an issue, but we loved the Almquist Winery so much that we decided to do everything in our power to make it work. We hired one of Almquist's "preferred" wedding planners in the hopes that they would have a positive working relationship. Unfortunately, as time went on our wedding planners repeatedly told us that Table's administrative practices were "horrendous" and "unacceptable". Eventually it got so bad that our planners (their PREFERRED planners) said they "were severing all future ties". Table did so many rude and unprofessional things that I can't name them all and stay in the character limits for this review. They didn't show up for scheduled meetings and tastings. They sent us invoices with an illegal additional 2.2% tax charge (King County tax rate is 10.25%. They tried to charge us 12.44%). After months of reaching out and working together (and Jenny confirming our date), they made us change the date of our wedding because they didn't want to book a Saturday for less than 80 people. After several rounds of invoicing from Jenny, Brooke added an additional $1,200 to our venue costs. Worst of all, a mere 20 days before our wedding, Brooke refused to honor our executed contract and tacked on an additional $1,000+. When we asked them to honor their written estimates and contracts along the way, their response was, essentially, if you don't want to pay the higher price then cancel your wedding because another bride will pay us more. As our wedding date got closer and they kept finding new charges to add to our invoices and signed contracts we felt extorted. We had to either pay their extra fees or cancel our wedding at the last minute. In total we paid $11,718.59 to Almquist/Table for a 30 person wedding on a Sunday evening. This broke down as follows: $400 for a 3 person tasting; $2,325.00 for 3 food stations and 3 Hors d'Oeuvres; $1,670 for service staff (1 bartender, 2 servers, and 3 chefs); $3,300 for the event space (greenhouse and restaurant); $250 for a cleaning fee; $870 in bar charges; $1,052.29 in taxes; and $1,851.30 in mandatory administrative fees. The mandatory administrative fees are described in the contract as "Admin fee includes all gratuity and service charges". Despite paying over $3,500 in wages and mandatory gratuities for 5 service staff, on the day of our wedding we received terrible service and the staff actively solicited additional tips from our guests. The bartender went so far as to put a tip jar front and center on the counter and place a $20 bill slung over the side to encourage our guests to tip more. It was incredibly tacky.

There was ample space which was great but no lines so it was basically a big space. There's a long meandering walkway up to the venue. There's a playground but that's reserved for the kids center. It was sunny that day and the wedding started at 4pm. Unfortunately, more than half of the outdoor seating wasn't covered so I was warm and the sun was in my eyes. It was nice they had microphones otherwise you wouldn't be able to hear. I suppose it could fit about 100+ guests comfortably maybe up to 200+ compactly. Once the vows were done, there wasn't much to do. They have a room with a billard table and a fountain but that's about it. There isn't much in terms of entertainment other than that. The kids were getting antsy and it took them about 2 hours to get dinner ready! My kids were snacking on what I brought them because they were too hungry. They brought out small hots d'oeuvre of bacon wrapped dates and fruity tart with cheese but that's about it. They had 2 kinds of non-alcoholic drinks readily available - cucumber water and rosemary lemonade. They had more alcoholic drinks of beer, wine, and cocktails. Since they didn't have a program available, I didn't know what was next or how long things took. I was about to leave before dinner was served until I asked how long it was going to take. We had dinner indoors and the room doesn't have AC but they had a big fan going. The room was set up nicely - there were 12 tables in all and it didn't feel cramped. The food was decent. Once they let people know we could eat, we all headed over. They had bread and salad all prepared at the table. It took about 20 minutes for the main course to arrive. We left before the cake got there unfortunately because it took so long. How long? 4:30-6:20 just waiting around, down time. 625-725pm salad, main course but no dessert yet. The water jug wasn't cold either. The sea bass was alright - slightly overcooked but I was starving and didn't mind. Roasted summer veggies and steak was fine so was the whipped potatoes. The food came out about the same time for the tables so that was good. One of the bathroom doors werent working and they have hot water but not cold. It looked like the original fixtures. You can tell the place is old and dated.
