I would not recommend this office to anyone because it was my experience that the office manager was extremely disrespectful and argumentative, The receptionist was not at all knowledgeable of any of the questions that I was asking her. And no she was not a new employee. I was hung up on and was asked if I wanted to cancel the remaining of my appointments. The only thing I called there for was to ask what the next step in my dental treatment was going to be. The dentist that is going to do my root canal called them and spoke directly to the dentist that was treating me and no one including the rude office manager had no clue what I was talking about. I was told we have no record anything that you are talking about so moving forward when you call here listen to what is being told to you and give us the respect that we are due. I tried to explain to her that I was sitting there when the other dentist called them the office manager continued to over talk me and would not listen to anything I had to say. She hung up on me twice. If you are loosing records/notes and being that disrespectful what are you going to do during the procedure that I will be paying you to preform on my mouth. went in for a 930 appointment at 920 I got there filled out my paperwork here it is 1005 and I still haven't been seen a person walks in and gets seen one second later literallt did not even have to sit down. I left and called to complain and the receptionist SHAUNA is very rude and hangs up midway while I am speaking to her. HIGHLY do not recommend terrible receptionist service and they lie about appointment times no way I should be sitting in the waiting room 30 minutes after my appointment was scheduled ! read more

i put a review about this business a few months ago and i am happy to report than they seem to have changed. I had complained that one of the dentists who was my dentist was only there twice a month and he is now coming in more often. He is there once a week now and the other dentist that was only there twice week is now there every day. Many people don't handle criticism well so I really respect the doctors for listening and changing to make things better. They were extremely nice to me when i came in for my appointment which I did appreciate. I should've known better! I don't have dental insurance so I was shopping around to find a way to get a teeth cleaning. I'm new to the area and bought a teeth cleaning & X-ray package for $84 on Groupon. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment of 8:30 and was scolded when I walked in for being late. I explained that I just had a confirmation call that reiterated that my appointment was for 8:30. The person scolding me had read the schedule wrong. What a warm welcome! I went in for the cleaning, all was well. Then at the end of the appointment I'm informed I'd have to make a 2nd appointment in order to meet with the Dentist. He had called in apparently. Professional businesses would normally call you ahead, let you know of the inconvenience and possibly try to reschedule. There's no way I was paying for another babysitter, wasting time and gas driving all the way back there. I guess I won't know until I find a new dentist whether I have any cavities. read more

I picked this place initially because they're so close to my house and they were opened Mondays, which I have off from work. The first visit was fine, everything went well, and I scheduled my second cleaning for a Monday some months out. Well, that day came and I went to get my teeth cleaned, only to find a sign on the door that said they're no longer open Mondays. I called their second location and expressed my frustration that nobody had bothered to tell me that, the woman said they should have called to reschedule. I told her they did not. She verified that the phone number I had on file was correct and said somebody would call me to reschedule my appointment. My front tooth broke and I really didn't have a dentist. I found out that my insurance is excepted. Called to make an appointment thinking since I was a new patient it would be a week or more before my appointment. I spoke to Shawna and told her my situation and she got me in that day, not only did she get me in but I got a cleaning, xrays and they fixed my front tooth. Second five star review of Union Street Dentistry. The first review was for the bridge they implanted, relieving me of the dentures my previous dentist provided, which I just could not get comfortable with. Totally happy that I can now smile without worrying about the gap in my front teeth. This five star review is for how efficiently Scott, the business manager (not sure if that is his correct title) handled my insurance coverage. Originally the insurance company did not want to pay (surprise !) due to concern over previous work done by former dentist. For at least a year Scott advocated on my behalf, contacting the insurance company and my previous dentist, and resolved the problem, and the insurance company finally paid my claim. Kudos to Scott, and prospective patients should know they are in excellent hands, both in dental work and office staff. read more

They advertise a $49 special for new patients, but then the add-ons start. They wanted $500 for a procedure I've always paid $30 for. I can understand that each office is different, but there is no way to explain that much more. The place was empty, and I still had to wait a almost 45 minutes. I can't speak to the quality of the dental care here, but I'm sure Dr. Syed is a more than qualified dentist given his pedigree and training. This rating is primarily a protest against the customer service and professionalism of Dr. Syed's administrative staff, namely an individual that goes by "Vicky." My parents live in a nearby town and go to Union Street Dentistry for semi-annual checkups. My mother has gone for several visits now and returns distraught each time about Vicky's professional demeanor. Vicky doesn't greet my mother in the same warm manner she does other "more American" patients, she speaks to her in a condescending tone, and she tries to take advantage of her perceived English deficiency by adding phantom charges to the final bill. Vicky - If you're reading this, please try to behave more courteously to all of Dr. Syed's patients, my mother included. You don't have to be her best friend, but at least try to be good at your job. read more

When I went to this office, the dentist gave me a shot of Novacaine, He hit a nerve in my mouth that made my nose feel like it was breaking. While I lied there crying the dentist never even care to pass me a tissue. I would not even let my dog go see him. read more

Dr Sementilli told me I would need two crowns and the billing person told me it would be $1,200 WITH insurance. Because they are in network with my insurance I asked why so much and she said they only do semi precious metal crowns. I went to a dentist of a friend and he said I only need one crown, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the other crown and it will cost $30 co pay. The other dentist was fantastic did a great job and did not break the bank or give me unnecessary dental work. I wish Dr Sementilli's office had told me that was their policy to only use semi precious metals before taking me in as a new patient. I never confronted them about the crown that was not needed. I don't feel I should have to question my dentist. If they tell me I need something I should be able to believe it is. read more

Horrible experience. Went here for just over a year for routine exams. After 3rd visit is started getting odd checks in he mail from my insurance company. After inquiring with the staff here they told me not to cash them and that was "our money". So I left the practice. 9 months later I received a bill for $87 and a $25 "patient left practice" fee. Steer very clear of this place. Sketchy accounting and billing practices. Not to mention the staff was unfriendly and snotty. read more

I had wrote in via their website about questions regarding cosmetic dentistry and setting up a consultation as they had a deal for dental implants. The same day, I got a call to set up an appointment for July 2nd, 11am. Well, that morning came and I wasn't going to be able to make it, so I called to reschedule. The woman on the phone told me the office was closed that day anyway, she was just there to answer phones. So, I would have showed up and the office would have been closed?! No phone call or anything?! After we hang up, I get a call 30 min later telling me I missed my appointment. YOU HAD JUST TOLD ME THE OFFICE WAS CLOSED, SO HOW DID I MISS MY APPOINTMENT?Then they call me AGAIN and ask if I want to reschedule. Um, NO, this was going to be my first appointment and this is not a great first impression! I should have known with all of the negative reviews. Another terrible experience at dental union. Last time I came in the assistant told me to swallow my blood and spit and was very rude. This time I was charger for a service I already paid for and haven't received. I waited over an hour for my refund and I'm still waiting in the office now. This is a terrible dental office. I have to wait 45 mins after my appointment time to be seen. Take my advice and go to another dental office. On my paper work the office spelt my last name wrong. I have been a patient here for several years, but no more. After today, my husband and I will be transferring to another dental practice. I had an appointment at 8:00am to have a couple cavities filled. I took the morning off from work. When I got there at 7:55am the door was locked and all the lights were off. I waited 20 minutes (they were supposed to open at 8:00am) after which time I called their affiliate office, 3 Stone Dental in Latham, to find out why no one was there. The woman informed me that USD had closed for the day because they didn't have a doctor. WHAT?! No one called me to reschedule. Also, how can you NOT have a dentist on staff on a weekday? You're a DENTAL practice. This is not the first time something like this has happened to me. One time I was actually driving to an 8:00am appointment and got a phone call saying they needed to cancel because the doctor was sick. Okay, I understand that sh*t happens but come on...you didn't know the doctor would be out sick?? Ugh. My husband also had a similar experience. He had an 8:00am appointment for a cleaning and no one showed up until 8:15am. Very unprofessional. How is this allowed to continue?? Not to mention that the staff turn around is extremely high. Every couple of years there is a different hygienist cleaning my teeth and a different doctor doing my exam. This tells me that either the staff are unhappy there or that there is something fundamentally wrong with the way the business is run.
