I used to be very loyal to my two banks (both acronyms start with a B, and has three letters), until I learned about Union Bank's EON. And because of my EON Visa Debit Card, I was able to do two things I used to be apprehensive on doing - working online and shopping online.
I applied for a home-based, part-time job on the internet and one of the requirements they had for transferring our salary was a PayPal account. I know that sounded simple, but a techie is one of the things I am not. I passed up on a lot of online writing jobs because I did not want to be bothered with PayPal. But I read about EON card and it seemed pretty easy; all I had to do was make a PayPal account and link that to my Union Bank account and when we receive payment in PayPal, we can just transfer it to our Union Bank account (with a minimum fee of 50 pesos, the lowest, I was told) and we can withdraw the cash within two to three days using our EON card.
Me and my husband are also not fond of credit cards (we hate having debts) and until now we don't have one. But we love buying and searching for good deals online. I can also use my EON card to purchase items online, with the same process of using a credit card. It's fast and easy, but I don't incur any debts because I'm just using the money in my account. read more
