TL;DR: If you have literally any other choice, (being seen by a toddler playing doctor, voodoo, old fashioned bloodletting) do that instead. The long version: I'm writing this in real time as it happens. It's not good We live in West Virginia, but my Dad's cardiologist recommended this hospital because he said he could get the procedure done sooner. So, Dad scheduled his heart catheterization and went up Tuesday at around noon. A family friend took a day off work to take him to the hospital, and I was to go pick him up today. My wife also took off from work to stay with my mother, who is disabled and can't drive. He said he was experiencing pain after surgery, so the doc said he wanted an echo cardiogram. Dad assumed that he would get it yesterday evening. He didn't. So, he resigned himself to staying the night. I drove up today, 50 miles, arriving just after noon and still, no echo cardiogram. Got impatient and angry enough that my inner Karen came out. I went to the nurses station and started asking questions. Ridiculous. Nobody had answers. Nurse calls down to the ECG crew and they're gone for the day...at 3:00 in the afternoon. She texts the doctor multiple times and he will not answer. Dad did not see the doctor all day. He just lay in bed doing nothing, hooked up to a heart monitor, pulse ox, and BP monitor. Nurses occasionally checking on him telling him how great his vitals are. No ECG, no doctor, no tests of any kind. Every day costs Dad a $500 deductible to basically lay in a hotel bed with fancy telemetry. We're both getting angry. Earlier that day, a social worker came in and introduced herself and said if there's anything that we need, she's there for us, just page her from the front desk. So I did. They said, "She's on the phone, when she's free, we'll send her right back." Waited, waited, waited, nothing. I finally went out to the front office only to find out that she had left for the day. This whole thing feels like an intentional fleecing. No organization can have this much incompetency, all working together to prevent ANY sort of progress, can it? Surreal. We were both fuming. Then my wife called and told me the rain was turning to sleet. I decided that my only option was to give up and come home. So, I had to call off work for yet another day and will have to make the 50 mile drive again tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll know to start raising a fuss as soon as I get there. Let's total the damages...$1500 in deductibles, 200 miles on vehicles, three people taking off a total of 5 days off work...and Dad still isn't home yet as of this writing. They don't realize that their lack of urgency costs multiple people time and money and causes a ripple effect in their lives. Nor do they care! I don't understand how WVU Medicine lets this go on damaging their reputation. Shame on them. I thought all the bad reviews here were hyperbole. They're not. It's really that bad. Everything, literally everything is a UTI at this hospital. My grandma passed because of missed diagnosis, my mom passed away from missed diagnosis, and now my wife has had a missed diagnosis. These people truly don't care about their job. There's no communication, no one seems to care, and I've watched countless times how they joke amongst themselves about the patients that come in. If I could give this place -100 stars I would. It's a joke. Don't ever ever consider going to rehab there. The nurses - especially one named Pam - are so fake. They pretend to smile and be friendly and kind but dare ask them a question or give a suggestion or go against their RULES, you will be punished!!! They turn evil. It's a horrible terrible place and I pity anybody who is there right now too scared to ask for something because you might be bothering them. The only person who was sincere was the guy who empties the trash can. If I die on the way to Ruby because I refuse to go to this dump, it will be on their heads. Worst hospital I've ever been to. My dumba$$ has went here several times. There so incompetent. Never ever ever let them operate on you or you'll be screwed up even more. Dr. Andrew Wroblewski is an absolute Embarrassment to the medical community. I highly recommend going to morgantown or Washington. It's not just 1 or 2 doctors or 1 or 2 stories I've heard so so many different stories this hospital has no right to be open there is just one incompetencey after another. read more

Terrible care. Not attentive to patients needs or compassion. Some nurses were good but majority couldn't care less & attitude is that you are more of a pain to them when requesting bed pan, 2 hours behind after asking for pain meds after major surgery, room was never cleaned after a 3 day stay. Food is horrible! Nurse documenting wrong just to cover their behinds. I have never had or experienced this type of un compassion care. read more

My brother came into the emergency room with all of his insurance cards and they treated him like he was a piece of crap. The people who work in the emergency room are the worst, definitely are NOT people persons.Rude, Rude, Rude. They are basically standing around the water cooler complaining about how much they hate their jobs, NOT attending to the patients. You are basically risking your life by going here. I just wanted to speak of the ordeal my father went through. My dad was taken by ambulance because got real sick. Box way down ,fast heart beat, abdominal pain. He has cancer and 30%kidney function to uniontown hospital.They did blood work,CT scan,. We were told from the nursing assistant that the Dr will be back to explain the results in a few. Instead she sent someone else in and said sign these and walked out. Never explained what was wrong . Later that even I was able to view his blood work o line and there was two in critical state. He felt a little better there since given an IV. He came home and was sick again. The CT scan said nothing wrong and blood work is bad. My father was in Pittsburg hospital last month for colon cancer/colostomy surgery, than a was in a week for kidney failure he just got two days ago. These people at this hospital just don't care anymore. To be treated like crap and not even e plained. When looking at the papers it said basically he has gas. BTW: Uniontown in the month of February/March told my dad he has a bad gallbladder come to find out after taking him to Pittsburgh his colon was about to Burst. Uniontown hospital kept sending him home with pain meds and nausea pills. Two more days his colon would have bursted and he would have died. Never even looked at the colon especially when my dad was complaining about bloating, abdominal pain. He was a ballin throwing up bile and sick. Total bull. He coded twice last week alone in Pittsburg. When you have no compassion for patients it's time to find another profession. Very disappointed and dissatisfied with Uniontown hospital. I def don't recommend if you value your life. Last week I took him tomorrow. Valley thank God for them because they are the ones who found something wrong with my dad's kidneys and sent him to Pittsburgh. Come to find out my dad was have kidney failure. And coded that night. There are no words! My mother was there the beginning of Feb. for knee replacement and I had to file a complaint about the nursing staff not putting the patient first and ignored my sister and I as we sat in the room wanting information. We were never asked who we were or if we were even related to the patient. We could have been anyone! Then my mother was admitted a few days ago because she fell three times in less than a week. The ED took x rays and we were told she chipped her pelvis and needed to rest. They kept giving her narcotics even when she was not complaining of pain. Tried to tell them to only give her Tylenol or Motrin. Didn't seem to matter even though my sister is her POA. Tried to explain that she needed to keep exercising her knee due to the replacement. Kept being told she needed to stay in bed and rest due to the fracture. Was then told a back brace was ordered. Now the question is....does she have a spinal fracture or pelvis fracture? Still have no answer. Not one person could answer that question. The physician told my sister that her staff did not need this kind of harassment and neither did she. She also stated that if we were not happy with our mothers care to take her someplace else. I guess I will be calling to file another complaint. And she is being discharged today and we still have no answers. read more

If I could give zero stars I would Horrible 3 or more hours in waiting room and just sitting here waiting and the nurse came in once with paper work she has not come in to check on him I asked for ibuprofen for him at 1:30 it's now 3:33...the care some of theses nurses take with there patients are a joke for real if you can't be compassionate with your patients why bother being a nurse!! read more

DONT EVER GO HERE !!! This hospital makes numerous mistakes and takes no responsibility at all. My husband was misdiagnosed on his MRI. The physician completely read his MRI as NOT having a herniated disc when in fact HE HAD 2 !!! Because of this he suffered severe debilitating pain for almost a year! Instead of getting the proper treatment he was getting treatment that was completely opposite of what he should be doing. What did the hospital say??? They said they didn't make a mistake!! This is what they count on, no one holding them accountable as per the lawyers who know all about this hospital. WARNING!!! a hospital that is not accountable should NEVER be operating. I keep going there as they have all my records and just don't know what to do. Been referred to WV but my husband had a problem in getting ambulance to take him across State lines! Had knee repl. in 2015 and it was infected. 6wks in Nursing Home (which was even worse than hosp! One can only imaginie!!). Last Aug had a revision to knee repl. Again infection. 2 wks hosp, PICC (2 because one failed) 6 wks nursing home and unbelievably incision site still won't heal Dressing changes every day. Hospitalists (Now act as your PCP) see you every day and usually a different one. Each one changed meds every day. By time in N.H. meds were so messed up. At least GREAT N.H. this time (LaFayette Manor)!!!!!! Recommend highly!! Incision still not healed. Leg so bad I fell AND NOW it's BROKE. I'm scared. Diabetic. This could all lead to having my leg amputated!! So much $$$ for meds and medical supplies and other things that can't pay utility bills. Do they care ?? NO-ABSOLITELY NOT !!
