I am not going to address the situation regarding Mary, as that is between the two of you. However,…read moreI will say that Mary is not the only one with these accusations and the same recall of events; it is impossible for everyone to be lying at the same time. Everyone's story is consistent with what we have experienced. Please understand that other employees, who wish to remain anonymous, have messaged and informed us of things that were going on--information that now makes certain events make sense. What is also disheartening to me is that you have Shanika Brown as a house manager despite knowing her background. While I understand that people deserve second chances, her work ethic was not in compliance with ADA regulations. You claim to hold yourself to a high standard, yet you refuse to acknowledge that you had two employees who were failing to follow regulations and were abusing the children. Whether or not they were hitting them cannot be confirmed, but those children were being abused and taken advantage of. For example, Bri being put into a dark room and forced to sleep is not normal. It was framed as if she were always tired, but that was not the case. Furthermore, yelling at the children is unacceptable. You cannot even do that in the public school system, so why is it acceptable at an ABA center? Everyone who had concerns about Nika and Ulysses came to you. I personally came to you before this even happened. The "kick" was not an isolated event; it was foreseen that he was aggressive around these kids. Everyone tried to be understanding of the fact that he was "different" because we trusted your judgment. Now, I feel betrayed because you referred him to another ABA company for employment. Had you reported him properly through the correct channels and left it at that, I would not have escalated this. I am escalating because of your actions. I also find it reprehensible that you left the other RBTs high and dry while ensuring you catered to Ulysses and Shanika Brown. I don't know what they have over you, but your loyalty clearly lies with them rather than with the children. It is equally disheartening that you were not paying your staff. You created a hostile work environment. How do you expect someone to pay their bills, take care of their children, or buy food when you are not paying them on time? You know very well that if the roles were reversed, you would not accept that. Regarding the topic of racism, it appears as though you were exploiting Black people, given that your center employed almost exclusively Black staff whom you failed to pay on time. Some report they were not paid at all. While I cannot personally confirm every instance, everyone cannot be saying the same thing if they do not know each other. I am sending this to hold you accountable. You were operating a bad business and you betrayed our trust as parents. We tolerated "suspect" behavior only because we trusted you, and you knew that. You should be ashamed of yourself; if these were your children, you would be raising hell. Because Ulysses and Shanika Brown are being allowed to walk away scot-free, you are going to be collateral damage for everything. I will not stop until I feel vindicated.

I cannot stress highly enough the love and admiration I hold for every staff member there who have helped us in our Autism Journey. From Darla, Kevin and Troy in administration, Gaylan and Julie leading their team of wonderful therapists, to the one and only Miss Eileen at the front desk who listens and cares as sleepless parents sign in their child who seems to only need 2 hours of sleep at night some nights... All of the staff there are knowledgeable and genuinely care about everyone that passes through their doorway. We have been clients since they first opened their business. I tell everyone I know about how fantastic they are.

They are very careful and cognizant of how they deal with people at every level, especially certain over stimulations or sensitivities. This is not a job that you can just hire people to do. This is something that must be a calling. The people at AAC truly are "called" to their gifts in this autism center! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
