My review is based on how SV handles client concerns, & the REAL dangers you may encounter at any one of their clinics. They all appear to be operating under the same business model , at least according to their reviews. Their Richmond Hill location is also one of the worst "medical clinics" I've ever been to. I've had fraxel treatments completed before & after visiting SV - never once did I leave a clinic feeling as if my face was lit on FIRE until my last treatment with them (2022). They claim concerns were addressed, this is UNTRUE. So let's add gaslighting to the list of issues wrong with this company. I believe SV damaged my skin using a setting unsuitable for my skin type/condition. Two staff were present during my last session, a trainee & a trainer. Trainer walked in & asked if I had Melasma, which I thought was strange considering I've never had Melasma. This was also incorrectly noted in my file - showing incompetence on many levels. I also sustained facial injuries after they had a trainee work on my face - also without my consent. THEN I learned the doctor on record left the clinic in 2019. Consent forms were signed in 2021 by the way, so pretty sure falsifying medical records is also illegal, unless the doctor on record was receiving kickbacks - which is something I've also questioned. Aside from obtaining consent & payment through deceptive practices they also broke privacy laws by publishing my full, highly identifiable first name in their original google reply. This was left up for several days even after I told them it was a PHIPA violation. My name was only removed after they consulted a lawyer . They can't be trusted to uphold patient confidentiality, so you definitely can't trust them to safely & competently perform medical/cosmetic treatments of any kind. Before they were willing to issue a refund they wanted me to sign an NDA confirming I not talk about my experience, which I declined. I'm not a lawyer , but pretty sure companies can't force you to sign an NDA in exchange for a refund, this breaks consumer protection laws. IF YOU SIGNED AN NDA, YOU MAY BE ABLE TO BREAK IT. Review Ontario's anti - slapp laws like the Protection of Public Participation Act. Just make sure your opinions/experiences can be backed up with proof, (ex: emails, before and after photos, receipts, etc - document everything). On Nov 4, 2025 SV sent me an email threatening to sue. Sue me for what? Telling the truth? Warning others of their deceptive practices? Anyway, they have yet to sue - all bark no bite. Please note: if you get treated at a skin vitality clinic you may end up spending more time & money treating the areas their negligence may subject you to. I noticed unsual swelling but was assured by the first nurse that it would go down. She was wrong. My lip was incredibly swollen and mis-shapen, and it was NOT getting any better. I knew I had to look into finding someone out here in Toronto to help me. I was on a mission to find a reputable plastic surgery office or any salon, for that matter, that offered injections in hopes that someone would know what they were doing and could help me. I called about 15 places. Leaving messages and talking to anyone I could . For the most part no one was of much help. Until I received a call from Shantelle! (the manager) of the New You spa. My prayers were answered, one of the nurses heard my voicemail and immediately put me in touch with Shantelle who made my situation an absolute priority, talking to me on the phone, and getting me in the room with one of her recommended nurses the NEXT DAY. She even came to meet me and help in every possible way. I can't tell you what a relief it was. Within a matter of hours I was in the office, given a few injections to undo the mess, and home. Heather was the nurse who was helping me, she tried everything in her power to alleviate the swelling and remove the existing filler. She was kind, professional, and knows her products! Within hours my lip was already looking better and was at such ease. My emotional state when I went into the office, to the time I left was night and day. The care and overall customer service of this office was incredible and unlike any other office experience I've had. It was a shame to be at a place like New You under my terrible circumstances; unable to appreciate the office for what it was. But just being there an hour and looking at their "menu" if you will, I really can't wait to go back for an actual warrented procedure or service! She started from doing a facial assessment for me, pointed out where she would like to "fix it" to overall improve my facial contour.
