Have been coming to UB for years, very decent space, we have front and back rooms which allows two classes and open gyms. Fun community, people are welcoming and I have made a lot of close friends here. Great coaches, especially head coach Liran is the best! I have learned a lot of lifting and gymnastics skills through the classes Highly recommand, and if you are curious, we have free intro class

Even during the pandemic, the classes went continued online. This made us stay in our routine and not skip classes. Loved it.

With the recent move into the larger space, there is more room for the WODs and for multiple classes at a time.

As a recent Classpass convert, I was pumped to be able to book classes while in SF for work. I…read morefrequent Epic Hybrid Training in Miami, so was very excited to see how it stacked up all the way across the country. I booked a Blast class with Dan. She was so friendly and welcoming from the get go. I knew it was going to be a fun one! My favorite thing about Epic is that no class is the same. This was super high energy and cardio focused with eight rounds we did FIVE times. I was sore for days! It's only 45 minutes including the warmup and cool down, but you really get a ton out of it. The studio itself is smaller than the one I'm used to but there were about eight people that came and room for everyone to move about. It also felt very clean and I appreciated Dan mopping up our sweat as things went along. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in San Francisco and would encourage anyone looking for a fun and new workout to give it a try!

Another Classpass convert over here - *raises hand*, but what really has me coming back on…read morecompleting a 6- week challenge!! I originally saw a 6-week challenge ad on Facebook and I thought, hey why not. The main reason and motivator being that I wanted to be in really good shape for my wedding this Fall and all the associated pre-wedding festivities. I saw this as a really great way to launch my fitness journey and kick-start a new me! After a few email exchanges, I worked with Jenn P. to set me up for the 6-weeks. She also took some measurements / pictures and loaded me up with information on how to eat and how to prepare for the challenge with EPIC. I worked hard and showed up to classes 5 days a week and ate according to the meal plan. I really enjoyed the classes and I loved how encouraging all of the instructors were during the challenge. All of the instructors were so friendly and really encouraged me to extend myself a little more or push a little harder and I really think that was key in my workouts. I mean, who doesn't work harder when people are rooting for them? I didn't really lose any weight for this challenge, but it wasn't really my goal to. What i did get was a new-found appreciation for workouts that challenge you and are super fun, but don't leave you feeling like you've been hit by a bus. I also accomplished two major things during my 6 weeks - being able to complete the traverse down and back again and make it to the top of the rope climb. Feeling super positive about what is to come in the next 6 weeks of my fitness journey, but I can tell you that this is the lowest body fat percentage I've been at in a WHILE! :)

TF why does this place smell like urine? Everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!¡!!!!!!!! It's bad!…read more Neve notice this intense smell of urine until now. Mixed with dirty people smell and unjustified sweat. I get it, it's a gym. But people need to use deodorant. This pungent oder is gross. There needs to be more cleaning happening everywhere.

What they say about the other fitness sf gyms are true in my opinion,…read more The soma gym is where you go with the gym/body builder lovers. The fitness sf is where the others go to socialize on the strip The Fillmore location is where you go to swim and beginners due to the lack of equipment. The soma one is def my go to since I've started lifting weights. The location is very open; the areas are labeled and separated "arms" "legs" etc and helped me navigate what areas of the gym focus on certain muscle groups for a beginning weight lifter. I like the natural sunlight lighting the gym gives off compared to the other locations. It's all an open concept and has two main areas of the gym, while the other locations are split by an upstairs (Castro) and multiple walls (Fillmore). I like the soma location way more due to being able to see the other weights easily and know what's available and not. The bathroom for the men are pretty clean and always has a worker tidying up. Staff is always friendly and telling people to have a good workout. Lockers need your own locks unlike Fillmores location that has built in ones. Fillmore locations looks like it has more newer/remodeled things in the men's bathrooms compared to Somas. But they lack the amount of equipment that Soma offers. Which is why I like somas much more, thar and fillmores entire gym is so separated by walls every couple equipments and it takes a while to know the gym to fill comfortable vs wasting time trying to find out where an equipment is, and they feel so close to one another vs the somas open building concept. But nice staff as well. Yes the soma ones can get busy and that sucks when people are on their phones or taking forever but it's the price you pay when going during certain times. I do like how they have a Dog Room: glass door inside area where you can keep your dogs there, it can keep about 3-4 medium size dogs comfortable for your hour workout, and the soma location also have a Simply SF Cafe area by the entrance for smoothies. There is a parking lot right across the street for members (just be sure to get your membership sticker tag otherwise I've heard people have got tickets/towed) WiFi: FITNESS SF Soma Password: livefitness I wish it had a sauna or pool (filmore location has that) but overall I feel I get a good muscle workout when going here compared to the other locations.
